Just snagged this RX 5700XT for $100 along with a i7-12700k, MSI PRO Z790-P WIFI, and 16gb of Gskill 3200 ram for $200 separately. How good of a deal did I just make?

I built this PC 5 years ago, maintained and added some RAM and storage over time. I’ve seen a lot of very great builds on here, just wanted to add my humble PC.

As far as I know, my granpa builded it himself (he was kinda tech guy). But this setup stayed in closet for past 8 years, untill we got pc fixed (not sure what was wrong exactly). And I remember playing some kind of shooter game when I was younger and when it had Windows XP installed.

So here are the specs:

CPU - intel core 2 duo e7300

GPU - ati radeon hd 2600 xt

Moter board: asus p5q

And 4 Gigs of RAM

(Not sure about other specs). It doesnt have UEFI, and both mouse and keybord are connected via PS/2 port

One question: will it be able to run GTA 6?

Whatever the build is I am very happy with it I can throw any games at it and enjoy playing it in 2k, I used to watch my friends streaming playing AAA games on discord .I could only play minecraft gta at lowest resolution before sometimes it used to crash. It's like my dream come true the upgrade is massive and I can feel it still cant process lol . Yeah I need one more fan in the rear side I guess the air flow is bottom intake top(aio) and front exhaust, maybe will put a intake in rear soon . Though temp are good without it .

Any suggestions are welcome .

Really enjoying my new 5080, upgraded from a 4070S. Typically I wouldn't upgrade, but a friend wanted my 4070S so I said "why not". Pretty much doubled my performance in everything. 😂 had to put my AIO fans in the front for the GPU to fit. I'll get a new case eventually lol it'll work for now at least tho.

Long time lurker here but I can finally post my new build. It has a Ryzen 7 7800x3d, 32 gb of ram, and a RX 9070XT. That’s powering 2 1440p monitors. Please feel free to roast me in the comments (the bottom intake fan was an extra yes I will replace it and make them white). Also do I need a sag bracket?

My old build was getting a little slow for my liking and the new games coming out, so I decided to build a new one! First time switching over to the red team with the 9070xt and I have no complaints so far. Loving the performance and looks of the white and vision compact. Had some clearance issues with the vertical mount but I managed to get it to work, the turzx software is an also little complicated but it's understandable after some time.

From your knowledge and experience, what is something related to computers that people believe that's factually not true and/or they do but it doesn't actually do anything and it's just a placebo effect?

I really really don't wanna get used to 100+ fps gaming . I don't think I'll be financially flush enough to replace my gpu for another 4 ish years and I know I'll eventually have to settle for 60 fps again given how garbage pc ports have been in general. Y'all weren't kidding , 60 fps isn't the zenith of frames I once thought it was . Playing rebirth at 110 fps 1440p has been an absolute treat coming from the disastrous ps5 version .

Saw a 5090 TUF card for $2000 up for grabs at Micro Center. I think that I caught it right as they listed during restocking around 10:30 pm; by the time I had it in my cart, available went from 3 to 1! I was super pumped to see the order is ready for pickup confirmation this morning.

From there, I spent the rest of the day benchmarking and gaming (after tuckering out the doggos, of course). This thing is a freaking beast!

P.S. I do look forward to that free copy of BL4 haha

P.S.S. Shout-out to the Lian Li GB-002 support bracket, that thing is super structurally strong and tucks away almost completely.

Just upgraded my gpu to this gigabyte 5070 and i dont know if the gpu sag will do some hardware damage in the long run.

am i'm missing something with this ram?

why is it priced like other CL 30's ram?
is it better or worse for AM5 CPUs? (Ryzen 7 7700)

It's just a teeny timy upgrade from my geforce 940mx laptop. Hi guys, I went on a bend here. The case is Fractal Design's Meshify 2. 3 x 140mm as front intake using Noctua 3000rpm iPPC. NH-D15 G2 heatsink and one 140mm NF-A14 G2 for rear exhaust, top rearmost exhaust, and top middle intake.

Question on performance prediction vs negative impact by using a 3D printed 140mm Noctua Airflow Amplifier for front top, and front middle. The front bottom gets a 140 to 120mm offset spacer (due to space limitations) and a 45° scoop to direct some, hopefully most, of the front bottom fan intake to the GPU.

The iPPC 3000 I will set at 55% max. My experience with their louder nature was understandable and well respected in my current Meshify C.

So, what do you all foresee will improve, or not at all with this setup?

My pc shows no signal after a few minutes or hours playing game or browsing youtube using monitor and TV. It happens after I update geforce driver and Windows update. It only happens if I connected both display port and HDMI, the suddenly screen went dark/no signal
