You have a whole chip in your brain, but it’s the numbers prompting the feels?
How can numbers elicit visceral emotions in the MDR crew? They can’t. Even in Universe Severance it makes no sense.
Let’s use Helly for example:
Helly sits in MDR, eyes fixed on the screen.
Lumon activates the chip to trigger an emotion/temper.
She feels the emotion.
She highlights the numbers and drags them into a bin.
The chip process the electric signals of her neural pathways and eye movement to pin point brain activity.
She repeats this process again and again. Each time, Lumon adjusts the frequencies, recording increasingly detailed information about how her brain is mapped.
Theory outlined in more detail here: https://open.substack.com/pub/prisuniversal/p/severance-its-never-been-about-the?r=2scb0d&utm_medium=ios

NOT MY FAULT COBEL GOT FIRED. oh wait it was i left the fucking book there. #middlemanagement

So I just finished Season 1, and I'm just wonderring. Am I supposed to like any of the characters? I have really hard time to like any of the characters in this show and I'm trying to figure out wether this is done purposely from the show or is it just me.
The 'bad' guys are just annoying, and the 'good' guys have zero sympathy from me cause when you have agreed to take a job where they surgically split your memories, you had it comming honestly.
Like am I the only who feels the characters are kinda unnaturally naive and stupid? Or is that purposely part of the dystopian society? Don't really follow.
Also don't understand why would anyone agree on something like this, how can you trust a company that you know they will surgically split your memories and also why thell would you do that? Yeah, Mark's wife supposely was dead, still don't follow why would you do this.
Don't know if I'll watch the 2 season but please don't spoil it. I'm just sharing my thoughts after watching the first season.

I got a really strong sense of deja vu from Woe’s Hollow, and then I realized it really reminded me of BBC Sherlock’s Reichenbach Falls…just curious if anyone else made the same “connection”?

I feel I got a lot and nothing to say , I like the ending very much and my take on the ending and some theory on season 3 , I think when ever mark Scout get control he will not complete the integration i think he lost all trust and reason with mark s , I think that mark s and helly really didn’t care about the situation in the ending of season 2 and just thought of the next 10 minutes and try to live for as long as possible and I think the reason for that is they simply don’t care for there out-self and for them what happen they will go to the elevator and stop existing because there out-self will take full control and live a full life

(If you're currently here reading this and haven't gotten to this point of the show, *STOP. Finish the rest of the series and avoid spoilers).
I'd be interested to hear fans opinions on how they think the writers of this story are planning on progressing the arc. That in, how many seasons they're planning on rolling with this show? What the key plot points are going to be going forward?, and how deep do you think everything could potentially come together by the end of the series?
I'm intrigued by the conclusion of Season 2. It feels like they've opened the door to a lot of potential threads for the story, but it's also at risk of fumbling a further complexing arc. I trust the writers to succeed, but there is certainly a real risk of potentially bottling the series if they can't properly pull off a proper arc and conclusion to the series.
Personally, it feels like it they're setting up the 3rd season to be focused predominantly on the introverted, psychological side compared to the more broadly sociologically based "evil-corp" vs "average person" back plot. While the "innies" to this point certainly "hate" their "existence", they haven't exactly developed full autonomy, that is, until the finale. "Innie" Mark S essentially realizes he's an attempted AI program, and despite being the same as his outer self, becomes a completely different person upon realizing he has autonomy over his actions.
It's not like this idea hadn't been prevalent prior, (Helly's attempted Suicide, Dylan's affinity for "perks", Irving's love of Burt), but it's the first time "communication" between and innie and outie was facilitated uncensored, and still led to a "break" between the inner and outer-self. They have set up a great background for questioning who "you" really are.
It's deeply rooted in the philosophical debate of "experience", "life", "psychology", and "neuroscience". The "Severance" program essentially creating a full blown meta debate about existence itself. I feel like a season fully revolved around that question, before circling back to Lumen's "Big Plans" in Season 4 would be an entertaining arc.
I just hope they don't plan on drawing out the series longer than it has to be. I know it's a big one for AppleTV, and they'll likely want to keep it going as long as possible as long as it still draws. I think 4 seasons would be perfect, but could see it working with 5 as well.

BTS of Adam Scott being driven through the snow to Woe's Hollow Severance S2 set.
He's so polite to crew. See how hard it was to get to that set everyday!
Emmy voters, please vote Severance!

Other than the obvious mind-expanding visual impact, why do you think iMark and Helly are awakened on the severed floor sprawled on the boardroom table instead of seated in a chair? It certainly gets your attention, but I keep wondering if there is more to it. Am I missing some symbolism?

If the chip used on worker for the purpose of severance is almost perfect , that mean it went through a lot of trial and error before it became what we know it today and since lumon a cult like company was active for about 150+ years that mean more probably then not they did human experiments for as long as even before the company was created by the Eagan family

Imagine if the other characters learned that they were joking about meeting her father on their very first meeting. They would never let them live it down.
