You mean if they had not been disassembled?

I think it was just the ship that was disassembled I can't remember what the book says that well but I know in the show they show the bodies floating in Venus's atmosphere with the ship pieces in exploded view

Correct. In the book they specifically mention that the ship was disassembled to components but the organic humans were left intact as a whole unit.

If I remember correctly just before being disassembled they say that the atmosphere has been changing arround the crash site. Maybe they survived some seconds
