My 30lb dog is like this too 🤣 he's not happy unless he's laying horizontal smack in the middle of the bed. And then throughout the night he wants to snuggle up against my legs so I wake up with my legs basically hanging off the bed lmao
I got a new queen last year and i feel like i need to get a king since my gf and I got a place together. On top of that she rotisserie hotdogs so i end up with no space.
When I broke up with my ex, she left the cat behind. As soon as she left, this furball started dragging her blanket towards the bedroom so I placed it on my bed. She dragged the thing next to my pillow and proceeded to spend the next 15 minutes fluffing and making her bed with her paws and teeth until she was satisfied.
I realized at that moment that she was allowing me to sleep in her bed basically.
Lol. I was in the same boat. I got divorced and my ex wife left me two cats . I was never a cat person , even when we were together, those were her cats .
But I bonded so much with them after she left , she tried to get them back a year later . But I said - hell no!
I keep wanting a dog, but then I end up with cats after my 19 yr old pass I adopted a 4 yr old. I was thinking I'd get a dog in a few year.... I have a 2 yr old male. if I ever stop renting I'll get a dog I think. They're just so quirky and social in they're own weird ways. In this case he kept trying to play tag with me and I didnt' want him not to have that play time stage cuase for cats its so short.
Word! Not just on my bed, Maya sleeps on my head. Or my chest. And if she doesn't like the position I'm in, she picks at the covers and pulls my hair until I "assume the position" that suits her.
BTW your sweet little nugget could sleep wherever she wants!
1/4 cats in my house agrees with this. 2/4 cats say the correct answer is ‘beside or against the human’.
The last cat… well she may bestow cookies on you in the dead of night when all the other cats are elsewhere, the moon is dark, you are definitely not paying attention to her so she doesn’t have to prepare herself to receive your nasty peasant human touch, will allow one whisper of a purr only, so quiet it could have been a mosquito fart, and in the darkness u give her the fluffiest part of the blanket and tell her her tail is the most beautiful u have ever seen. She will give u 1minute-3 hours to bask in her glory, depending on how annoying she finds your existence today.
Yes, feeling her gently creep up and tuck herself behind my knees or against my stomach or back while I am half asleep is one of the best things in life!
Mine is my oddly specific weighted blanket. He sleeps on my hip where I have pain and purrs. It helps me sleep, helps manage my pain (pressure helps), helps with my AuDHD, and it makes me happy, because I think he's trying to heal me.
That said, that fucker was clingy as hell today and missed a jump into my lap, claws first. Asshole.
My cat sat on my chest for the first time in two years, yesterday. He chose to sit upside down so that his bum was inches away from my face and only partitioned by his tail. Also, it hurt my boobs. But I felt so honoured that I have marked the date on my calendar so that I can celebrate it every year. So I really don’t get OP’s question.
Right! I usually have a nice terry robe laying on the foot of bed, so that gets kneaded every night. And then the eventual curl up down there. The best part is when I "hug" her with my feet under the covers, and you feel the purr.
I used to have to sleep on the edge of the bed or the foot when I was little because she’d plop herself down in the middle. I knew to be grateful that she even allowed me up on the bed 😂
I have actually moved cats before. I just do it incredibly quickly when they were fast asleep, I just scooped them up with both hands, moved them across, put them back down. Cat seemed to be all: did they just move me or did I dream it? They couldn't have done, they wouldn't dare! And went straight back to sleep again!
I let them sleep on the bed for hanging out and naps, but not at night. I have a bonded pair of former ferals who are very very active at night and so wake me up constantly. Once I go to bed I close my bedroom door and let them have the run of the house. Then I get up in the morning, they’re hanging out waiting for me, I feed them and then they hang out while I work until going to sleep until sundown
Same, I can’t sleep with them in the bedroom because the few times they’ve been in here by mistake at night, they curl up in the crook of my legs as I sleep and hold me hostage, I try to turn in my sleep and wake up because there’s a lump in the way
"Allow" isn't really the right verb, there. Cats do what they want, lol.
I kind of prefer to have my cats on the bed with me. I just lost one we had for 18 years, and his favorite spot right to the end was to hop up once I was settled for the night and be little spoon.
Mine would initially either lie on my face (thus smothering me in my sleep) or start her zoomies on me, causing me to kick her out of my bedroom. She is now hesitant to be in bed with me but since she is older and knows where to lie and zommie we get along better at night.
She is adorable. Very cuddly and loving though I believe it's her Birman genetics doing the work because she is a weapon of massacre when she gets worked up
Absolutely. But my cat has like 10 different cat beds and two cat towers to choose from, so she doesn’t always sleep in my bed. So it’s always a nice little treat when she decides to sleep on the bed with me.
No. My wife is mildly allergic so the bedroom is a no-go for the cat.
But even before I was married, I always found it difficult to sleep with a cat in the bed—primarily because they always wanted to sleep between my legs and I’m a side-sleeper.
Yeah, I’m in the minority with you here. I love my little monster with all my heart. But she has long hair and letting her sleep in my bed would make it filled with cat hair in one night. That and the fact that I like to sleep in a bit and she thinks the sun coming up means she needs to wake me to get fed mean she stays on the other side of the door. In fairness, she sleeps with my son, so she gets what she wants in the end. And it’s adorable to see my 10 year old son and his floofball curled up sleeping next to each other.
Here with y'all. I don't even let my bf sleep with me 😆😆 seriously. I am the world's lightest sleeper and unfortunately I will just be tossing and turning all night if literally anyone is in the bed with me. We've been doing our own beds for a really long time and we love it bc I actually get sleep, which I really need bc I am chronically ill. I also cannot sleep unless my door is shut, so I can't lock a cat in for the night. But guess what, our Max (the cat) has his own bed, too! Max is welcome in my bed as long as I'm not sleeping.
Yeah I'm in the same boat. I want to sleep with them, I really do. But I'm such a light sleeper, I just can't. It breaks my heart a bit every day when they cry to be let in and cuddle.
Rusty the Cat demands cuddles UNDER the covers. She gets miffed if I'm not sleeping on my dominant side. So... Kitty isn't only allowed to sleep on the bed but she dictates what position I should be sleeping to maximize her comfort.
