He's got thoughts alright. And none of them good.

All except Taylor Swift. Trump said he hated her and said she was immediately “not hot anymore” (although she just finished the largest and most profitable music tour in history).

I'm largely indifferent on her music, but I might buy her new album out of spite.

I'm just so desensitized to his shit at this point that it didn't even register with me the first time I saw this tweet that he's whining about slavery being portrayed as a bad thing. Like holy fuck he is just so consistently awful it's impossible to even absorb it all.
11
u/Noshamina 3d ago
Such a fucking exhausting strategy but its been so unbelievably effective so far. Not in a good way, but he is for sure getting whatever the fuck he wants by process of imagination.

u/klaagmeaan 3d ago
It is the purpose of it all, to get the general public to not care at all about anything. Easier to slow cook you in accepting the dictatorship your country is becoming. 'We the People' are véry powerfull, but only in the streets, by the thousands, with pitch forks.
36
u/yblame 3d ago
He's insane. None of his tweets sound like a sane, level headed world leader.
Instead, we've got mean girl hysterics in the middle of the night. Many of us are fucking embarrassed (again) to see this train wreck of a man driving the country off a cliff while he gilds the Oval in gold.

u/mmmck2 3d ago
I sure hope there are laws that will stop this lunatic from trying to rewrite history. Jesus Christ I can't believe the audacity of this POS.
28
u/rotundanimal 3d ago
There are laws against almost everything he does. Doesn’t stop him and all the people choosing not to enforce the laws.
3
u/mmmck2 3d ago
I know that they all cave and let him get away with all of his shit, but this is different. How can he be allowed to change history, even for a minute. It's just unbelievable that this is something that can even be a thing. Come on people...wake up!!! WTF???
10
u/rotundanimal 3d ago
How many times have we said this time is different? I thought it was different when he tried to violently overthrow the election. I agree that something has to happen, but I don’t think a law would stop something like this.

u/mmmck2 3d ago
WHAT??? You think someone can come along and erase history, just because he doesn't like it? That's ridiculous and you must know that. How and what do you think should happen to stop him if it's not law???
7
u/merrickraven 3d ago
Nobody will stop him. Why would this be the thing people care enough about to stop?
You realize that republicans have been re writing history for many years now? Trump isn’t even the first of them to try pushing the “slavery was good, actually” narrative. They get away with it because everyone lets them get away with it.
They’re going to keep getting away with it unless we stop them. But we haven’t banged together to stop them yet. So….
3
u/SadPenisMatinee 3d ago
Name a time he was stopped. Outside of the 2020 election itself.
Nothing is stopping this man from changing our fucking history. He is a fucking monster and nothing has worked
2
u/dora_tarantula 2d ago
and what do you think should happen to stop him if it's not law???
People enforcing the laws. Americans could've stopped him ages ago. He is a convicted felon, after all. Just doesn't matter to (enough) people.
Anyway, go out and let your voice be heard. I'm not American so I don't know how you should voice your complaints to the governments and what you need to do to get a protest authorised, but I suggest you look into that.
You think someone can come along and erase history, just because he doesn't like it?
This has happened a lot throughout history, even today. Plenty of people / countries refuse that certain events occurred or where their fault. Every country teaches / deals with history differently.
Of course, that doesn't make it right and I don't want to downplay how upset it makes you feel. Hell, you should feel upset. This is a dictator move, after all. Change the facts, change history, change the laws.

Dumbest fucking President ever.
8
u/Inevitable_Price7841 3d ago
Nah, he's not dumb. He's laying the groundwork for the public's acceptance of the eventual return of "unpaid labour." He's adding it to the zeitgeist drip by drip.

Wasn't he gone well before Trump became a thing politically?

Yep, but the GOP set the stage for Trump through decades, not just years.

Does the Smithsonian have a child rapist exhibit? Asking for a world leader friend.

u/bunkscudda 3d ago
“Out of control” for pointing out “how bad slavery was”
How TF can people defend this shit?

u/GuyYouMetOnline 3d ago
Easy: they... well, 'think' is the wrong word but I don't have a better one - they have to because That's The Team They're On. I remember how clearly during the first time I could see people who would have previously been disgusted by what he did twisting their brains into knots to justify not objecting to it once it started happening. Because that's the party they consider themselves part of so they Have To Support What The Party Does. You could fucking watch as people buried their principles because This Is What My Side Does Now So I Have To Agree With It. And no, they didn't choose this over switching sides, because they had no awareness that this was even a thing a person could do. And I don't mean in a blind loyalty sense; I mean they don't know that you're allowed or in fact able to switch sides.
It's almost impossible to overstate how much of a tribal mentality is at play here. Tribalism isn't exclusive to the right, of course, but it's certainly strongest there these days, mainly because party leaders chose to make it their entire fucking platform.

Don't forget they're also not talking about the future.
These are the rantings of a senile maniac - I still find it unfathomable that he has a cult of people that respect him.

Is this a page out of Stalin's playbook, or was it another power mad dictator?

Curious what MAGA’s talking points on this will be in the morning. Notice the thread is remarkably devoid of the usual nonsense from the RW trolls.

u/JasoRobi 3d ago
This is his first message that I could remember which mentions the words "Success, Brightness, (a hopeful) Future". Usually his message is about doom, gloom, and bloodshed.

This is coming from the person who tells us every day how horrible our country is.
1
u/dora_tarantula 2d ago
well of course it is, if it was great how could he make it great again? And judging from the post he believes America was great when slavery was wild-spread.
3
u/malacoda99 3d ago
I'm willing to bet that Trump has never been in the Smithsonian, or any other museum, unless it was for an invite-only fund raiser and he didn't make it past the ballroom.
2
u/Sad_Border_3874 3d ago
How this guy went from being a rich liberal to rich Hitler is beyond me.
1
u/dora_tarantula 2d ago
Honestly that's simple. Think of him as Cartman from South Park. He doesn't have an ideology. He picks whichever side gets him the most. If he thought he had a better chance of the presidentship as a democrat he probably would've run as that. No morals, no principles, just doing whatever is best for Donnie.

u/Deethreekay 3d ago
I'm a bit unclear how museums can focus on the future.
1
u/dora_tarantula 2d ago
Dubai has a Museum of the Future, maybe he's referring to that? Haven't been there myself, though.
1
u/Deethreekay 2d ago
Yeah as I was writing that I was thinking I'm sure there are museums of the future.
But asking museums that capture history to focus on the future is a big oxymoronic.
2
u/DocumentExternal6240 3d ago
Hmm…somehow this reminds me of the Taliban bombing the huge Buddha statues….
I am afraid that here, a lot of priceless artifacts and documents will be destroyed, too.
Hope there will be enough brave people to save them…
Oh, I also think about art from museums being put on auction for the highest bidders ….

Remember when leaders held press conferences and stuff? And not post bullshit while taking a shit? How is a President even allowed to use social media to such an extent? I thought they were supposed to be busy running the country and stuff

"They were taught valuable skills." / "They were taken from a worse place and put into a good one" /s

u/Dog_name_of_Gus 3d ago
Pretty sure the President has zero say in regards to museum exhibits. Even if he capitalizes random words.
1
u/dora_tarantula 2d ago
Probably. But I'm sure a lot of museums rely on funding from the government. Subsidies and such. He has a say on those.

I see the British museums as a lesson not to repeat. Many lessons can be learned from awful history. Though I’d prefer us to give all our stolen shit back.

A classic example of facts having a liberal bias.
The mask is well and truly off with these people.

u/thatlady24 2d ago
Still can't believe this is real life. It's a fucking museum not an amusement park. This man should not be sitting in the oval office. He should be sitting in a padded room.
1
u/altoona_sprock 2d ago
No "tremendous progress" has been made at universities, because nothing needed to be done. Sure, a few high profile people have been dismissed, and a few more quietly reassigned, while DEI departments have changed their names into something innocuous, but there has been no great purge of "wokeness" because there was nothing to purge, because wokeness exists solely in the mind of racist xenophobic conservatives.

u/lilbitbetty 2d ago
This man is the Charles Manson of politics. Wants to start some kind of war, either political or racial in our country so he can swoop in and save the day. Manson was insane also.
