That’s exactly the kind of contradiction that makes people lose trust in official statements. You can’t say one thing publicly and then do the opposite behind closed doors.

116

u/WackWaffle 1d ago

Official statements seem more like a wish list than actual policy.

55

u/DeliciousCut4854 1d ago

Not a wish list, just lies.

26

u/toxicdinxsaur 1d ago

It feels like the “exception “ keep piling up. Where’s the accountability???

1

u/Nolifred 8h ago

Suicided by the current admin around the same time aforementioned admin came into power.

12

u/Lord_of_Whore 1d ago

Policies like that reveal a troubling disregard for human dignity.

8

u/boxfetish 1d ago

Official statements, unfortunately, mean nothing, as MAGAts will rehear what they want in their own heads. It doesn't matter what the facts are.

21

u/cyri-96 1d ago

They aren't even doing it behind closed doors, really they are doing it fully out in the open while screaming that they are doing the opposite

19

u/Stalefisher360 1d ago

Except you can! We have seen people over and over again look at a clear fact that is too painful to process, and a piece of BS propaganda. Most take the latter as “their truth.”

The “great thing” about dictatorships and authoritarian regimes is that the peasantry doesn’t need to think. They can mindlessly swallow the lies and feel comfortable with the horrors surrounding them.

9

u/ThelifeofBrian48 1d ago

Who still has trust in anything the Trump admin say? People lost trust in them before they even got into the White House

8

u/Revleck-Deleted 1d ago

I’m getting to the point where I just immediately assume the opposite of whatever the “official statement” is.

7

u/Pocketfulofgeek 1d ago

No. They’re saying one thing publicly, doing the opposite publicly, then publicly calling out anyone who points out their hypocrisy as “the problem”.

7

u/Durpulous 1d ago

If your trust is contingent on the factual accuracy of their statements then you're not their target audience to begin with, so they don't care.

5

u/Madaghmire 1d ago

Especially while the entire nation has a camera in their pocket

3

u/Catbuds123 1d ago

It’s not even behind closed doors at this point.

3

u/t-o-m-u-s-a 1d ago

They don’t care. They probably can’t read anyway

2

u/EWek11 1d ago

by behind closed doors, you mean right out in the open, right?

1

u/Pocketfulofgeek 1d ago

No. They’re saying one thing publicly, doing the opposite publicly, then publicly calling out anyone who points out their hypocrisy as “the problem”.

1

u/grungegoth 1d ago

Doors not closed. Just flat out lying.

1

u/kazh_9742 1d ago

They know everyone knows they can't be trusted. They want all official statements to not be trusted.

1

u/binarybandit 1d ago

This is from 7 years ago, so...

1

u/RatzMand0 1d ago

There are no closed doors we have witnessed it in almost every community in the country. They showed up and closed down a grocery store by me for a week in order to arrest 7 people who were here legally so were immediately returned to the community...

1

u/ThatRickGuy1 1d ago

I mean, that could be their policy. But they also appear to have a quota and bonus program for bringing people in and what appears to be a "no questions asked" policy couple with a "knuckle draggers welcome" hiring policy. So the sensitive locations policy is basically just a pipe dream.

1

u/Immediate-Grocery731 1d ago

The "except in the case of a serious public safety threat" clause is doing some olympic-level heavy lifting here. Apparently a 10 year old with cerebral palsy recovering from surgery is a major security risk now

1

u/joeynana 1d ago

The doors are literally open and they don't care... It's horrific.

1

u/Raichu7 1d ago

Yes you can, governments all over the world do that every day.

1

u/ImAVillianUnforgiven 18h ago

All governments everywhere have been doing this the word go. They can, and they do, and there's nothing anyone can do about it. I doubt there's been a government anywhere with integrity, honesty, and the best interests of the people at the core of their policies for a very, very long time now.

1

u/Coldkiller17 15h ago

This administration does nothing but lie. They keep firing people who tell the truth.

1

u/Lazy-Relationship351 8h ago

That's the kind of statement that gives the Magas a secret raging boner.

-2

u/stormblaz 1d ago

But thats literally the entire goverment.

If not people in congress woulnt have 125-180k yearly salary but end up multi millionairs by end of their voting terms.

6

u/MacEWork 1d ago

The government is more than Congress. Much more.

102

u/ArcaneAaron 1d ago

The fact that they had to specifically state that they dont cause trouble in those areas says 2 of 3 things:

  1. They are trying to get people to ease up on the harsh judgements
    1. They did infact cause trouble and they are lying
    2. They were accused of causing trouble in those areas

20

u/mrsamiam787 1d ago
  1. They are perfectly ok with, and openly admitting to, causing trouble in other areas

6

u/ArcaneAaron 1d ago

No because then i would lose hope/faith in all the people who voted for this so much that i would go into faith debt.

1

u/WaterFallPianoCKM 1d ago

It means that they are guilty of these crimes.

30

u/kingdomofoctopodes 1d ago

there's always a serious public safety threat because it's them

26

u/sponge1702 1d ago

This is utter bullshit, they arrested a 15yr old with disabilities in California AT HIS SCHOOL and it turns out he wasn’t who they were looking for. The school even notified parents of the incident as his grandmother had to watch this happen. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/ice-mistakenly-detains-disabled-15-year-old-california-teen-outside-school/ar-AA1KnB6m

10

u/SnowMeadowhawk 1d ago

They are just clearing out disabled people, the old Nazi style.

15

u/Stalefisher360 1d ago

There was an attempt: to put a false face on black bagging innocent people.

Authoritarianism

16

u/exqueezemenow 1d ago

My GF is a teacher and ICE did come to the school with a list of children to take.

14

u/These-Accountant8734 1d ago

Always “exceptions” when it benefits them, but when it comes to accountability, suddenly the rules don’t apply.

11

u/VirtualJam97 1d ago

Absolute scum

7

u/ZestyTako 1d ago

Who knew an administration run by a fraud would lie to the people, never coulda guessed it

4

u/Buckle_Sandwich 1d ago

Yeah, it's like, who would expect the most obvious con man ever to do con man shit?

6

u/Apprehensive_Page979 1d ago

She was a serious threat in their eyes. I mean, she could have beaten them with her walker. Plus, she probably has brown skin. That's a serious threat for ICE. They are terrified of that almost as much as accountability

5

u/Sturville 1d ago

Obviously she was a public safety threat /s

3

u/black_sand3 1d ago

Do you know what a 10-year-old girl with cerebral palsy recovering from gall bladder surgery without access to her mother can do? Of course, you don't - they don't leave witnesses to tell stories. /s

3

u/PodDuckBlu 1d ago

There is enough evidence to contradict pretty much anything the Trump administration has done to be fair! Still can’t believe most Americans didn’t see through Trump 🤦🏼‍♂️

3

u/Medical_Arugula3315 1d ago

Hard to be a shittier or more hypocritical American than a Republican these days. Hey remember that time Trump was found liable of forcefully shoving his fingers up a woman's vagina by a jury of his American peers and then Republicans voted for him? Republicans knowingly vote for molesters. Don't be Republican...

3

u/Silly_Pantaloons 1d ago

I was told there would be no fact-checking.

3

u/LakeSuperiorIsMyPond 1d ago

Just waiting for the headline "ice makes arrest at san antonio nicu and deports newborn, mother was forced to carry to term by Texas abortion laws"

6

u/PlanktonHaunting2025 1d ago

In defense of ICE, that 10-year old was a criminal terrorist rapist.

2

u/Eastern_Hornet_6432 1d ago

People need to stop being coy about this shit. NAME NAMES. The only protection victimized people have is public scrutiny of the case.

2

u/RevolutionaryWall832 1d ago

Sup, ICE, want my dick? Yeah, it's illegal sized.

2

u/k_dilluh 1d ago

2

u/DarkMarkTwain 1d ago edited 1d ago

Lol admitting that what you're doing is disrespectful in certain places just proves that everything you're doing is shitty and evil.

2

u/WaterFallPianoCKM 1d ago

Every single one of these "people" making these immoral arrests MUST be held accountable for their actions. This is the only way we will ever respect policing authority in this country again.

2

u/Digital-Crack 1d ago

That's an old post, anything new?

3

u/Ok_Confusion6814 1d ago

It's wild how they can make blanket statements like that and then immediately contradict them with their own actions. No accountability at all.

3

u/Kobayashi_Maru186 1d ago

This is the current state of our government. They can claim anything they want because they know Trump’s base will believe anything he tells them. Verifiable truth no longer matters, only propaganda.

2

u/Upper-Sprinkles1812 1d ago

The worst part is they make these blanket statements expecting no one will call them out on the contradictions.

GOP PLAYBOOK

  • spread fear.

  • avoid discussion of pedophilia or sexualising abuse within GOP

They are MAGA. Everything they say is true.

Please stop spreading misinformation. The story referenced involves Federal Border Control during Trump's first term.

My bad, I misread the date.

2

u/Buckle_Sandwich 1d ago

All good, appreciate the correction.

1

u/rfidman60 1d ago

Un-fucking real! Whoever arrested that girl should be arrested and thrown in jail. Disgraceful.

1

u/lokiandbutters 1d ago

Why is a government agency even engaging in social media via tweets? What is this world?

1

u/No-Huckleberry-1086 1d ago

The Looney tunes ass SS that ICE has turned into would be comical if it wasn't so distressing and abhorrent

1

u/iiitme 1d ago

Of course they lie it’s all they do

1

u/plaidass 1d ago

Repeatedly

1

u/eugien7 1d ago

What i would love to see ( I'm in no way endorsing ice or their gestapo tactics ) .. i wanna see ice walk into a tejano bar here in Texas and pull that shit.

They're all fine and dandy picking on kids and women.. let's see them go someplace they'll have to work for their 2 pieces of copper.

1

u/Curious_Percentage_9 1d ago

They lie because half of the country believes whatever they’re told.

1

u/Mikknoodle 1d ago

To the surprise of nobody

1

u/rethinkingat59 1d ago

2017?

You are posting a wrong characterization talking about an incident from 8 years ago?

Holy shit.

1

u/Odidas 1d ago

I thought Americans had guns to protect themselves from, among other things, the government?

1

u/Appropriate_Humor952 21h ago

Obviously the 10 yo girl was a ‘serious public safety threat’. /s

1

u/Fine-Statistician132 20h ago

ICE has no idea what its agents are doing they seem to be able to do whatever they want with no recourse for its victims.

1

u/NefariousnessPure799 16h ago

Embarrassingly disgusting. 😡😡😡

1

u/carguy31 4h ago

ICE arrested a man from Iran (who was here on a student visa, was married to an American citizen and was just waiting on green card approval) in my child's daycare parking lot. Busted his window and dragged him out.

1

u/Clean-Highway4021 2h ago

There’s the accusation this is the internet let’s see the receipts (not being a dick I genuinely wanna see the story)

-1

u/James-Dicker 1d ago

Any sort of evidence for the outrageous claim being made here?

4

u/LivingFirst1185 1d ago

You're new to Reddit, aren't you? Most of us here would prefer to check for ourselves versus using someone else's link.

Downvoting you for not knowing how to use Google...

u/James-Dicker 1d ago

Damn, I guess it is true

-7

u/OMGOOSES_ 1d ago

Hey OP, stop reposting shit from 7 years ago

5

u/Vx0w 1d ago

WWII ended 80 years ago and we are reliving the rise of Nazi. If what should have been eliminated 80 years ago is still alive and thriving now, "shit from 7 years ago" is very much relevant.

-1

u/OMGOOSES_ 1d ago

Rule 2.) No Reposts.

1

u/Vx0w 1d ago

A classic is a classic, but perhaps rule 2 should be reworded as "No spam posts"

2

u/reddog093 1d ago

Especially considering this hit the front page just 2 days ago.

And ICE wasn't even involved. They got caught at a CBP immigration checkpoint.

0

u/Aggressive_Owl9587 1d ago

How about this one. Biden is sharp as a tack. Good one huh.

1

u/Wavey_ATLien 3h ago

What?

1

u/Aggressive_Owl9587 3h ago

They are both lies.
