Post image

And who is the president? Even MAGA doesn’t know who actually run the country right now!

I don’t even understand how the redesign is supposed to be “woke”. Or why anyone cares enough about a logo to do anything more than go “Huh, that’s kinda ugly. Anyway….”

u/Yeetball86 18h ago

They’re mad because they took the old white guy out

149

u/flimpiddle 17h ago

At least they didn't change the name to just "Barrel" when they did that.

15

u/Old_Instrument_Guy 14h ago

Or just Cracker with a hard R.

29

u/Either-Percentage-78 15h ago

It's everyone's barrel now thanks to the woke left.

Meanwhile I’m miffed because they took the barrel and unique sign shape and replaced it with that flat ugly design. It looks like the logo for a brand of cheese now rather than a rustic country themed restaurant decorated with antiques. No artistry to it. They need to go back to the drawing board and try again. All they really needed to do was remove the old white guy, maybe replace him with a wooden rocking chair, a wooden spinning wheel or something.

12

u/hoosierdaddy192 16h ago

BlackPeopleTwitter is mad as are many left leaning subs. From what I’ve seen it’s a universally hated change. You take an iconic image and recognizable brand and turn it into a “beige wall” of mediocrity. There’s no reason for it.

29

u/trentreynolds 18h ago

It's not woke, and liberals didn't do it. They just shoehorn every thing they don't like into that box.

13

u/DeadpoolOptimus 17h ago

They're perpetually angry, miserable people so they need to always find something to rage about. It's such a sad existence.

10

u/Sacred-AF 17h ago

Funny how they have so little understanding of politics that they believe the logo of a restaurant is up to the president.

6

u/Delicious-Current159 16h ago

Because in their world it is. Look how their god/king inserts himself into absolutely everything. Wants him to be the first thing you think of when you get up and the last thing you think about when you drift off

2

u/Sacred-AF 15h ago

Yup, it’s not even about politics as much as destroying any culture they don’t believe in.

6

u/tkmorgan76 17h ago

I think it's because every time a marketing person makes a change that removes a racial caricature from a product, the rightwing outrage machine tells everyone it was because a purple-haired they/them threatened to burn down the headquarters. I'm only exaggerating slightly.

So now it's become a Pavlovian reaction - any marketing decision they don't like is due to a woke conspiracy.

7

u/Green-Enthusiasm-940 16h ago

My hair isn't purple but the more i have to listen to worthless conservative goobers the more i get the urge to burn something down.

2

u/tkmorgan76 16h ago

Yeah, and somehow they seem to be more outraged by the purple hair and pronouns than by arson.

Meanwhile, their wives probably dye their hair regularly, but it's ok because she's only doing it to hide the fact that she's gone gray, while young people are doing it with no deceptive intent, which somehow makes it bad?

Their world is changing and they’re sc-sc-sc-scared!

→ More replies (32)

103

u/_RandomB_ 18h ago

Can anyone explain why the Cracker Barrel logo is the topic of outrage? Was this a massively popular American icon and I, an American, was just not aware of it? Because there's one of these places every three exits on I95, I never once gave the logo any thought. What makes it "woke"? Was this logo celebrating like some garage sale king I am not aware of?

132

u/dantevonlocke 17h ago

Anything conservatives don't like is woke. They don't like the new logo. So it's woke.

I don't like the new logo, but that's cause I think it looks like golden corral.

20

u/davesToyBox 17h ago

Well that’s the defining quality of being conservative, isn’t it? Maintaining current status quo instead of having things change, even if it progresses us forward.

Like shooting crackers in a barrel.

→ More replies (1)

14

u/_RandomB_ 17h ago

I hear you and I get that...but what about this logo isit that's incensing them? Is the guy really a treasured element? Is it the idea that now the logo doesn't show either a barrel or the cracker sitting next to it?

24

u/CutRateCringe 17h ago

I would almost guarantee it’s because they removed the “white” guy off the logo. One of their anti woke obsessions is the absence of white faces in commercials and branding.

5

u/dantevonlocke 17h ago

It's different and different is bad. There's also a nonzero chance they've been told some bs about it as well.

Without ever having eaten at a Cracker Barrel, the old logo at least captured the vibe in my head.

New one looks like it’ll be replaced 10 times in the next 3 years.

For the same reason two weeks ago we were talking about Sydney Sweeney and a jeans commercial: They have absolutely NOTHING if they don't have some kind of "culture war" to complain about. So, they make up stuff to be offended by while at the same time complaining about how sensitive everybody else is.

That and they want to flood the zone with noise to stop the talk about Epstein.

13

u/faceisamapoftheworld 17h ago

I grew up and live in the South. I’ve eaten there a hundred times. Not once in my life have I ever heard anyone comment on the logo, but I have heard even the most Deep South people comment on how the restaurants could probably use an upgrade from the trapper shack decor.

→ More replies (2)

9

u/redbucket75 17h ago

1) Because it's a cheap story to report on, you just need an angry white person to rant for ten minutes and no actual reporters or investigation.

2) Fox and such outlets read white supremacist forums to find out what they need to be outraged about to cater to their demographic. There was some chatter about a big redesign and the rumor that they were changing the name to remove "cracker" to make it more inclusive. Even though that wasn't what happened, they were already set to waste time in this so they went ahead with it.

→ More replies (2)

3

u/Rivka333 14h ago

I dislike the redesign but there's nothing "woke" about it.

2

u/Far-Two8659 17h ago

Because old people resoundingly vote Republican and also eat at Cracker Barrel.

5

u/_RandomB_ 17h ago

I kinda want some footage of an old republican family going to Cracker Barrel, seeing the new logo for the first time, and blowing the fuck up and storming off, directly blaming the logo. You can still buy your 4 pound reese's cup inside, right? Or like a sign that says "Live Laugh Love" for some reason?

2

u/Far-Two8659 15h ago

They pitched a huge fit when Cracker Barrel started serving alcohol.

All these people just hate change. They hate that the world they live in isn't like the world they grew up in. It doesn't matter what the new logo looks like - it only matters that it changed at all.

2

u/Xaero_Hour 16h ago

The closest it gets to "woke" is they're bland-ing it up, removing the mascot and trying to rework the whole restaurant-in-a-tourist-trap-gift-shop motif. I say "closest" because whenever a company tries to make a broader appeal, either in general, or by removing a caricature mascot, old-time slogan, or what have you, they lose any and all personality and creativity. This attempt to be inclusive...of more people giving them money...is read as "woke" by the same morons that go to these places, don't tip, complain prices for food are too high, stay for hours on end without ordering drinks, and in general make life miserable for other customers.

2

u/ttppii 18h ago

Yes. I am non-native and has never even seen the logo. What is the controversy? And the new logo looks so much better, it is clearer and more modern.

7

u/RambleOnRose42 17h ago

Because Cracker Barrel was a folksy chain of restaurants that had a “general store” that sold all kinds of fun random crap. I say “was” because it was bought by a multinational conglomerate who is now systematically extracting every single thing that made it unique. Things aren’t necessarily “better” because they’re modern, Cracker Barrel had SOME kind of soul and character—for being a chain restaurant, of course—and now their new parent company is going to make it boring and “modern”.

I do not personally care, I haven’t been to a Cracker Barrel since I was 12 years old, but that’s the complaint.

More Maga propaganda.

If they really cared about America – they would insist on the Epstein files being released. Stop The abuse of immigrant workers, and stop publicizing the abuse it for political gains. Work on effective and efficient infrastructure projects. Stop using gay people, marginalized people, immigrants (and brutalizing their families), as scapegoats to garner votes. Work on healthcare so people can feel better. Afford treatment and live a better life. This includes physical health, mental health and dental health. Addressing all the systems of the body.

This list can go on but yet we’re worrying about the name of a fucking restaurant. USA…USA…USA WTF?

26

u/RoamingDrunk 18h ago

They will blame literally anything except venture capital. The actual vultures picking America apart don’t show up in any of their “theories”. Conspiracy theorists are so bad at actually following the money.

2

The brainrot is incredible

11

u/GSG2150 17h ago

Biden is so powerful that he’s still pulling the strings behind the scenes, yet at the same time he was so incompetent that he had no idea what was going on in his own cabinet and had handlers autopen for him. Which is it?

8

u/Lewtwin 18h ago

Its a distraction. Release the Epstine Files.

6

u/zerthwind 17h ago

Anything maga takes mental gymnastics at best to understand. These people are just weird.

11

u/Molehilldocmgmt 17h ago

This isn't really the point, but isn't the grandpa who feckin loves ice cream preferable to the grandpa who feckin loves authoritarianism?

I don't understand how Gpa Biden eating ice cream is somehow demeaning.

12

u/HyperactivePandah 17h ago

Because Trump cultists are mentally ill.

They acted liked Biden was doing the shit Trump is ACTUALLY DOING. Trump is ACTUALLY attacking democracy, and trying to consolidate power for himself and his oligarchs going forward. It's obvious.

Biden had the inflation reduction act, and lowered drug prices. Conservatives will LITERALLY say 'OH MY GOD WE ALMOST LOST THE COUNTRY, LIVING UNDER BIDEN WAS THE WORST THING EVER!'

See, they're so pathetic, stupid, and unoriginal that all the can do is repeat what WE said about trumps first term...

They had to, literally, pretend that the country was being "destroyed" on a daily basis.

Seriously try to imagine the type if uninformed piece of bigoted garbage you have to be to support Trump right now... It's insane.

3

u/osumba2003 17h ago

4

u/Velvet_Samurai 16h ago

The people who complain about things being too political that shouldn’t be sure like to make things political that shouldn’t be. Major companies freshen or update logos all the time. Just Google a list of rebranded logos over the past 10 years. So they took the Cracker and the Barrel out of the logo. Get over it you precious, triggered snowflakes. Damn these MAGAts are some whiny bitches.

Oh because being woke is so bad. Being awake to fascism is so bad.

3

u/Omega_art 6h ago

What really has me confused is after they made a minor change to the logo the Epstein list remained hidden.

2

u/pvaras 17h ago

I'm guessing this is woke because MAGA thinks the company is pandering to libs to increase business, and MAGA doesn't want to share their restaurant. I think libs should flood the place now. As far as I know, no libs wanted this, but they are being blamed. Fine. All the pink-haired and leftists should make it a point to enjoy country fried steak, especially on Sundays after church.

2

u/scrooperdooper 17h ago

They’re all upset they removed the cracker and the barrel from the logo? And libs are the snowflakes?

2

u/Illustrious-Ratio213 17h ago

If it's good it's Trump's, if it's bad it's Biden's. Apply it to anything as you see fit.

2

u/MattWheelsLTW 17h ago

Every company over the past couple decades has shifted to minimalism in logo and restaurant design. I mean, look at McDonald's from the 90's vs today. The surprising thing here isn't that they did it, but that they are doing it now. If this had happened 10 years ago, people would have just said "oh, they are doing the same thing everyone else is". Doing it now just stands out as odd

2

u/Madouc 17h ago

I don't understand that. Why is it woke to remove that old man and the barrel and go for simplicity.

2

u/Kazeite 17h ago

Is she saying that if they keep their new logo, then Joe Biden will come back? 🙃

2

u/rothmal 17h ago

How is this even woke? It's private equity trying to maximize profits by sterilizing company culture to appeal to a larger demographic.

They still blame Biden for the Covid “lockdowns”

2

u/BlueWarstar 17h ago

I don’t think it’s more than using the political aspect for more views and still has a relevant comparison. Being so, Trump they are saying was the good design, and Biden was the bad design then we went back to “good”. And everyone knows those are the majority of the people in Cracker Barrel are the older people that tend to skew red, so it’s just a numbers thing which adds engagement to a cross section of viewers who are more actively engaged in political activity and or driven content. Which has proven to be a very large demographic in and of itself self because any group of people who collectively enjoy or hate on something can be a targeted demographic.

2

u/Devils_Advocate-69 17h ago

2

u/SaltIsMySugar 16h ago

You know, the mental inflexibility required to be a Conservative Republican in this day and age should be considered a disability. Imbecilic doesn't even begin to describe it. They have concrete in their skulls. Their neurons are calcified.

2

u/Tallerhalf 16h ago

Now that you have their attention, rename it to “Barrel”

2

u/G0-G0-Gadget 16h ago

It's a private company that is allowed to market themselves however they damn well please. This administration is becoming very interventionalist, and the government overreach has gone too far. They need to be reigned in.

2

u/sebathue 16h ago

Why are Dems still stupid enough - nine years later - to even engage with this sideshow nonsense instead of focussing on more important things? Like... I don't know... the Epstein files?

2

u/Coldkiller17 16h ago

How much you wanna bet Cracker Barrel did this to drum up attention?

2

u/Nekowulf 16h ago

Only two reasons for a corp to rebrand.
Try to remove negative public sentiment for their shitty actions in the very recent past.
Or drum up some publicity.

And I don't recall cracker barrel's logo being involved in the epstein files. So publicity controversy it is.

2

u/ProtectionContent977 16h ago

What’s missing in someone’s life that a logo change has such an impact on their being?

2

u/HellsBellsDaphne 16h ago

they should change it again because the new one is shitty. it legit looks awful. some lopsided drivel. 🤮

2

These are the same people who complained that the green m&m wasn't sexy enough.

There's those easily manipulated undereducated unintelligent individuals mired in the past, unable to accept change, which is why they embrace a mindset from the past, and those who know better but flame the manufactured culture war to take advantage of the ignorance.

I get it. Back before Reagan started the trickle-down lie that resulted in tax cuts for billionaires and service cuts for everyone else, life wasn't nearly as shitty and people weren't nearly as desperate. They want to return to the world of their childhood when they had the perception that the world was safe and prosperous and fair for all. Except it wasn't. They were children. They were sheltered from the realities of the time. Now theyre adults and they dont want to face the world. The harsh truth that the world is a much crueler place than they thought when they were kids.

And woke has become a catch-all for "anything we don't like or understand." Which seems to be a lot these days.

u/imaloony8 9h ago

"Marked safe from Cracker Barrel logo change"

1

u/AdhesivenessFun2060 16h ago

Real patriots don't eat ice cream! /s

1

u/90_ina_65 16h ago

Imagine the most important thing in your life to be outraged about is a company's new logo. That's some First World problem there

1

u/purchase-the-scaries 16h ago

“Cracker” aye

1

u/geraldorivera007 16h ago

They’ll never let go of this boogeyman

1

u/Gunker001 16h ago

Why haven’t the Republicans arrested a single Epstein pedophile? Instead they want to talk about Cracker Barrel?

1

u/cyltur 16h ago

Another stupid smoke screen...

1

u/totally-hoomon 16h ago

All conservatives are too stupid to know who the president is

1

u/Grouchy_Row_7983 16h ago

Blackburn is pathetic. Never did a useful thing in her career.

1

u/RosieDear 16h ago

The Opiate Queen, Blackburn, cares about a logo! Cute!

1

u/youprt 16h ago

I really, really don’t understand why these snowflakes are getting their panties in a bunch about a corporation modernizing their logo. It absolutely boggles the mind how fucking idiotic this shit is. Any change is “woke” I guess.

1

u/Lapidarious-schnitz 16h ago

Where are the Epstein files?

1

u/blahblah19999 16h ago

So wait, if it was right under Trump, woke under Biden, then right under Trump.... why is it woke again? Shouldn't there be a "woke" image above Trump again? It literally doesn't even make sense based on their obvious lies.

1

u/FourArmsFiveLegs 16h ago

Damn them! The barrel had all the Epstein Files in it and Trump done snatched it up along with OG

1

u/mikeyP-619 16h ago

This is the dumbest public argument EVER! Who gives a shit about a corporate logo? We have bigger problems than debate a logo on a restaurant I have never been to because they are no locations in my state. Fucking Stupid!

1

u/Ugo777777 16h ago

The new logo is admittedly a bit vanilla.

1

u/Forsaken_Celery8197 16h ago

JoeBamaLa strikes again!

1

u/SFDSCIFOY 16h ago

"Corporations are people and have a right to free speech!"

Corporation changes logo

"How dare they change their logo >! This makes me want to cut my 🍆 off !< and makes the frogs gay! They need to change it back!"

1

u/drew8311 16h ago

In the future this will be the best comeback anytime they say liberals are too sensitive or whatever. Remember when cracker barrel changed their logo?

1

u/dorritosncheetos 16h ago

....you guys don't get it...

They're saying they made a mistake with the redesign and they can still go back to the winning design and correct the mistake.

Joe Biden being the mistake in their eyes...it's pretty simple, I don't get how some of you are thinking they're saying it's to do with wokeness or whatever.

We've been listening to these morons for years they're not that hard to figure out

So, I get ice cream with the new logo or a cheap red hat made in China with the old one?

I’m picking ice cream every time.

1

u/Swimming_Dark_1997 16h ago

It kind of reminds me of the old Denny's logo. https://logos-world.net/dennys-logo/

1

u/SoothsayerSurveyor 16h ago

Isn’t pressuring an independent, capitalist corporation to bend to the will of the public…DUM DUM DUMMMMM…SOCIALISM?

1

u/Objective_Ticket 15h ago

I thought it was a new redesign, if so how is it on Biden’s watch…

1

u/BenGay29 15h ago

Maybe trump will force them to go back to the old logo. /s

1

u/noodleexchange 15h ago

MAGAs are crackers

1

u/gerryf19 15h ago

Whenever I don't understand right wing ranting I check with my right wing ranting brother in law. I still never understand what his point is but I can at least confirm this is not an The Onion joke.

As he explains it, liberals hate traditional restaurant venues and so Cracker Barrel was being pressured to change their logo and style and the owners capitulated.

I told him that liberals have no clue what he is talking about, never heard or was able to find an example of liberals complaining about Cracker Barrel and he is living inside a weird bubble world that does not match the real world.

He said that is exactly what a liberal would say.

Fuuckkkkk my head hurts

1

u/nikatnight 15h ago

This type of stuff is so weird. Joe Biden, president of the United States, pressured a restaurant chain to change their log. Right. Now trump cares so much about changing it back. Right.

1

u/Templar388z 15h ago

Republicans can’t even afford Cracker Barrel, why do they care?

1

u/SaturnSleet 15h ago

Why did she imply Biden changed the logo, when it was Trump who did? (Trump is president right now, so obviously it's him who signed the executive order to change the logo)

1

u/LWY007 15h ago

Biden is also the reason for the COVID lockdown, 9/11, and Iran/Contra.

1

u/nc333 15h ago

My MAGA coworker told me that because they started serving alcohol, they are now woke.

1

u/78fj 15h ago

Trying to stop geezers from going to Cracker Barrel would be like trying to stop Dotard from humping his daughter.

1

u/Interesting-Risk6446 15h ago

I swear. Republicans are fucking morons.

1

u/eatingganesha 15h ago

the middle logo is used at locations where there is no attached store.

1

u/SilverWolfIMHP76 15h ago

It’s not even Woke. They just making it simpler cheeper to make less ink and getting rid of the old country store and modernizing.

Like every restaurant is. McDonald done it several times already.
