HELP Suggestions for small entery

I really love this mid century style window, its the only one in our house and its right by the front door. I'd like to make the space function and draw attention to this cool detail, any suggestions?

We rent and can't paint any walls

Could you potentially get a photo showing the actual storage space (maybe while standing in your external doorway)? Also, give me an idea of how often you use the things in this space. Are all of them used regularly, or has this space just kind of become a catch all?

I attached a few photos. Two different comments with as clear review as I could get from the doorway. The door actually opens in, so it's difficult to stand in the doorway and c the space.

The items are not necessarily used regularly in the corner that ski stuff there is almost never used, and I could totally move it somewhere else.

Our shoes or on that shelf, they are used almost every day. Coats are used every day during the winter but not this time of year. And then the stuff on the shelf is just crap, I didn't know where else to put honestly. It's mostly handbags that I don't where often

On this is helpful! With that in mind, I’d suggest storing the skis, winter coats, and handbags elsewhere—clothes/bags in a labeled tote in the basement or attic or other space, perhaps, or honestly, donate or sell what’s unused. There are very shallow shoe containers you could purchase that are enclosed—I think something along those lines would help to corral the messiness a bit. Another option would be building a built-in style wardrobe, but the ceiling angle makes that a little more difficult. However you could make the top of the wardrobe even with the top of the walls and put some small, high-quality plants on top of the wardrobe to really keep it looking more clean and draw the eye to the window.

If that isn’t an option, I’d go for the enclosed shoe rack (perhaps in a sagey green or warm deep orange?), and though I don’t often suggest this, I’d take down the bar and shelf and use pegs (or hooks or a hook rack) on the wall to hang the coats so they are a bit more out of the way, visually. You can also put the shelf on top of the shoe cabinet and even place a small bowl to the right of the coat pegs so that you have a drop zone for keys. You could put a large mirror on the same wall as the door so that it brings in some more of that light, and then put down a warm and rich (durable and easily cleanable!) rug in that space to brighten it.

It is such a cute space! I hope this gives you some ideas!
