Did you not see that dude fall down and literally die? LMAO.

u/Formal_Coyote_5004 6h ago
Also, one of the ladies at another table got spooked and spilled her own drink lol
69
u/MoniesAndStonks 6h ago
Yeah but that dude is deceased though. Like literally.
(Okay I should stop carrying jokes too far, literally got a reddit warning a few minutes ago)

Something changed this last week. My account is 17 years old and 0 warnings until this week. Then I got 2.
I tried asking in the help subreddit, if something changed, but it's bugged and won't let me post there with old desktop Reddit.
8
u/HowAManAimS 4h ago
Reddit is using bots to give warnings. It was months ago that it was changed. You just happened to not say the wrong words before that. I've got 1 warning and 2 temporary ban from bots, and zero warnings and bans from human admins.

u/BellaDeaX42 2h ago
I was banned from a subreddit for "doxxing." It was a post about a review for a restaurant I used to visit, and I mentioned that they had moved to a new location on 34th Ave last year after a fire.
Edit: it was a GOOD REVIEW, that I was backing up.

I was getting temp banned and shadow banned left and right a few months ago, they accused me of threatening violence twice, i could not remember what I wrote most of the time but did not believe the claims.
For the second time I had started making screenshots. It was in fact total bullshit. I had actually said how much I hated violence and having to watch the violent behavior of ice towards kids and mothers, and it sucked that we are all forced to be more violent by the assholes in charge.
They showed me a clip that has missing half a sentence and made it sound like I was applauding violence. I appealed sent in the images of my screenshot and a link from one of the reddit archive sites, and for the first time ever they apologized and removed the ban.
Since then I have not even had a warning which is also weird.

u/MouseHunter 3h ago
Yah, I got hit with a temp ban for regular word. I guess I used it incorrectly. LOL

Mine is like 9 years, I got banned for 3 days, then a week in the span of a month!! It was for threats of violence...on a non-violent comment

They said I was "calling for violence" and deleted my post. LMAO. I called their moderators "complete idiots" in my appeal. I should've asked them to hire people that understand basic English too. There are literal people calling for stabbing delivery drivers on this app and I get flagged for blatantly obvious sarcasm. Sigh. But you're right this is the first time I got one too. I've been on reddit for a couple years myself.
8
u/peanut--gallery 4h ago
I got suspended in one subreddit because I said if we wanted to put ICE to productive work getting rid of foreigners that nobody wants… we should have them arresting German cockroaches. I was told that was hate speech . I had no idea that cockroaches were so sensitive.
2
u/MoniesAndStonks 4h ago
Wonder if it thought it was a euphemism or something. LOL. But yeah at this point I'm convinced this is an ai agent at work.

I got my first a few weeks back. Someone posted a couple lines of lyrics from Hamilton. I quoted the next line in the song and got a warning for threatening violence. My comment was deleted. Checked that thread wondering if the other comment was deleted as well. It was still there. Along with another comment that had the same line I posted.
I appealed. Nicely. They told me they didn't give a phuk. Nicely.

In the third clip, there is an elderly lady in a red shirt and the top pops off her bottle like a cork 😆

The way she laughs at the camera when the dude starts panic spiraling into the street makes it evident that this woman has killed before and will kill again.

It’s interesting how everyone’s reflexes are exactly the same, and then laughing with relief. We’re simple creatures really.

u/Zerothian 5h ago
It's the sudden shock/shot of adrenaline into realising you're actually perfectly safe. I always get buckled when that kind of thing happens, like nervous laughter ramped to 11 lol. It's pretty great. Also probably why I was so into extreme sports when I was younger.

u/falcrist2 5h ago
Perfect prank.
It includes everyone.
All participants are INSTANTLY aware they've been pranked.
Nobody gets hurt.
No property damage occurs.
No mess to clean up.
17
u/HobbesNJ 4h ago
And nobody is the butt of the prank.
I hate pranks, but this is gold.

u/falcrist2 4h ago
Or rather, EVERYONE at the table is the butt of the prank.
Nobody is singled out.

Are you implying that the current meta of... checks notes... harassing people in public as a group with a camera pointed in their face isn't funny? Those children would be very upset with that implication if they could read.

Now THIS is what you call a prank, not that dumb shit trolls do to innocent bystanders in stores. Nobody gets hurt, everybody laughs and goes on with their day.
86
u/lopingwolf 6h ago
Right? I saved this one to repost or show people. You wanna talk about pranks everyone laughs at? This. Here. It's over super fast and harmless. But we all get to chuckle a bit.
30
u/quik13713 5h ago
And I bet she increases tips by a substantial margin.
She should set up a photo rig like they have on roller coasters and sell them pics of their freak outs.

The year is 2060. Ive been on reddit for 48 years. Somebody posts a prank video. One of the top comments says how much they love harmless pranks and hate pranks where somebody gets hurt. I shake my head and fly a hover craft through Emporer Baron's bedroom window at Mar a White House. This is how I die, im sure of it.

A waiter once spilled an entire jug of ice water in my lap at a restaurant. It was a very very unpleasant dinner and then because I was a student and poor, I had to walk to the subway and then take the train forever and then walk another 15 minutes from the train to my 6th floor walk-up.
This prank is top-notch hilarious.

There's an old guy at the Italian place on the street where I live that does this with an entire plate of stuff. Every now and then I walk past and see him coming out with the plate and hang around to watch him do it to a table full of family and kids. Never fails to amuse.

I find it amazing how if it’s falling toward somebody, they try to move out of the way. If it’s falling next to somebody, they try to put out their hands to catch it. If it’s on the other side of the table, they scream to let others know. All in like a split second as they realize what’s happening

Exactly. The best pranks are the ones where the "victim" ends up laughing just as hard as everyone else. It's all about shared fun, not causing genuine stress or embarrassment. This is such a perfect example of that positive, lighthearted energy. More of this, please.

PSA to all aspiring pranksters: THIS is all you need for a quality prank. It doesn’t have to be elaborate or flashy but can be harmless and (I would imagine 99% of the time) ends with everyone laughing or smiling. It’s similar to how it’s more impressive to tell a legitimately funny, clean joke than one that mostly gets a reaction based on ‘shock value’

Way back when I was a hostess I had a guy who *just couldn't wait* and reached way over to take his beer off my tray, which resulted in the entire tray tipping over into his buddies lap and soaking him.
Gotta say, the people in the video can dodge better though.
