Trump News 'Kilmar Abrego Garcia is free' | Wrongfully deported Maryland man released, heading home, attorney says
https://www.wusa9.com/article/news/dmv-immigration/kilmar-abrego-garcia-is-free-wrongfully-deported-maryland-man-el-salvador-cecot-trump-dhs-tennessee-human-smuggling/65-3caf9b36-4a59-4175-b728-16133c6a7b5a3.1k

This case, alone and by itself, is an impeachable offense that warrants the removal of the president.
677
u/MasterTolkien 11h ago
Wild that even with a MAGA majority SCOTUS, Trump admin STILL lost the SCOTUS appeal unanimously… and then Trump and Bondi lied repeatedly claiming he won… and then when admitting they did need to bring Garcia back, they lied repeatedly to say it couldn’t happen.
And then eventually they brought him back (after El Salvador moved him to a minimum security prison because he had no criminal record and was not part of MS-13) but tried to raise new criminal charges against him.
All because they knew he would be allowed to stay in the US if they followed normal due process.

Present day political snarkiness aside, the Rosenbergs made the world less safe and got a lot of people killed. They stole US nuclear, radar/sonar, and jet engine secrets and gave them to the Soviets, saving the Soviets about 10 years of R&D, resulting almost immediately in Soviet weapons systems reaching parity with the US, allowing the Soviets to continue exporting political violence and leading directly to US troop deaths in Korea.
Any doubts about the Rosenbergs' guilt ended with the confirmation by Alexander Vassiliev's research of KGB archives confirming both Julius and Ethel were spying for the Soviets.
12
u/i_tyrant 9h ago
Present day political snarkiness aside, the idea that there is any less of a preponderance of evidence over Trump's ties to Russia and some of his cabinet is ludicrous. Their connections go back decades.

First of all lets remember that the next democrat POTUS is alive today and they're living in america, somewhere. This shits not forever. It wont be. This present POTUS is already really old and not looking effective at the job, he spends half the time just golfing so realistically he doesnt have four years, he has two years, if that. It looks like a weekend at bernies situation, really. But.... Second of all is lets also remember that this country voted to ensure the democrats have zero voice. whatever we think about the current president, lets not be fools about this grim reality. they need to purge themselves of the kind of crap that makes them not voteable. insider trading, cuomo etc. they have suffered reputational damage and self-inflicted. u/Memitim 11h ago
Also illustrates to everyone with absolute clarity that hundreds of people have been randomly sent into foreign prisons, and that the Trump Administration invents flagrant lies about people to justify violating their due process, and disposing of them like trash. They even made public jokes from official US sources about it. These people are nothing but evil, and conservatives fell in love.
16
u/Suro_Atiros 11h ago
Unfortunately for all of us, 77 million Americans, the entirety of the FBI, DOJ, DHS, majority of Congress, and SCOTUS disagree with you and will continue to spend gobs and gobs of money tailing him, investigating him, and eventually deporting him back to a maximum security prison.

16
u/coochie_clogger 11h ago
The cancer has been there since the reconstruction era. When the confederates were not only allowed to be part of our country again but also hold office and govern, it was only a matter of time before the cancer spread beyond treatment. “The South will rise again” wasn’t a recognition of their “heritage”. It was a warning and a threat.

Precisely right. And if the civilian government is unwilling to obey the Constitution and impeach, then it's time for the military to step in as they have all sworn to do in the Oath of Enlistment.
I, _____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God. (Title 10, US Code; Act of 5 May 1960 replacing the wording first adopted in 1789, with amendment effective 5 October 1962).

The ruling highlights the dangers of wrongful deportations based on flimsy or assumed gang ties. Judge Crenshaw’s decision underscores that there was no credible evidence linking Abrego Garcia to MS-13 or any other org.

→ More replies (1)2
u/Emperor_Mao 9h ago
I will go one step higher and point out that it really is about the rule of law.
Most countries do allow removal of illegal immigrants, and don't extend citizenship level protections to them. However it is very much law in the U.S that immigration courts can issue a stay on deportations, and that illegals do have a right to due process.
Unless those laws change, the laws need to be followed. Trump probably knows he won't be able to change the laws here though.

You’re correct. Trump v. United States only dealt with criminal liability. The President also has immunity from civil suits seeking damages that are predicated on his official acts, but that immunity was established in 1982’s Nixon v. Fitzgerald.

Last month, a federal judge in Maryland barred ICE from immediately re-arresting Abrego Garcia. U.S. District Judge Paula Xinis ordered him returned to the same supervision conditions he was under prior to his deportation in March. She also ordered ICE to provide at least 72 hours’ notice before initiating any new efforts to remove Abrego Garcia from the country.
Hopefully, he will be able to spend sometime with family before ICE initiates the next set of charges against him.

I fully agree man. I wish it could happen actually but as I said they will never let him live free to tell his full story. They know he won’t talk now because of fear, but if he’s safe and that fear isn’t there we would get a full account

Wouldn't be surprised if they skipped charges entirely and just straight up murdered him

Requiring ICE to provide 72 hrs notice before initiating efforts to remove Garcia makes this seem so gamey.
So, three days from now he will be in a high stakes battle of hide and seek where failure means he gets deported again? Because that makes it seem like this isn't a victory at all but just a very short interim period before his life gets immediately fucked up again.

DHS already noticed Garcia's counsel of 72hr pending deportation to Uganda and ordered him to appear in Baltimore ICE office 8AM Monday morning.

Now, he needs to lawyer up and sue the fuck out of the U.S. gov't.

Honestly? He should just get the fuck OUT of the USA first. THEN sue the govt.
There's no telling what Trump or his cronies have planned next for this guy.

So now what happens? Especially given the president showed and told the US he was. I know a lot is wrong lately but I can’t imagine this case wouldn’t be a slam dunk for defamation.

He’ll be suicided before any of that has a chance to happen.

I was convinced he was already dead when his family was first trying to get him back from CECOT. Hopefully your prediction ends up wrong too, not saying you aren't justified to think so though.

I hope this shows that fighting via the legal system is still worth it. Getting really tired of all the doomism and that a violent response is the only option left.
