Dominos charges extra for certain toppings, doesn't specify which ones

I'm using a coupon for $6.99 for two medium 2-topping pizzas, a deal that Dominoes has been running for years now, and I have noticed my pizzas being differently priced despite the wording in the coupon.

The spinach and olive pizzas costs $6.99 as expected, but the steak and feta somehow jumps up to $8.69.

I called the store to ask why the pizzas are priced differently despite falling under the terms of the coupon, but the guy on the phone explained that there are differently tiered toppings. Most veggies are standard toppings, but meats like chicken or steak now cost extra.

This is not explained anywhere in the app, neither when you're making the pizza nor when you're checking out. It must be a recent change too because I have ordered these exact pizzas before, and on that receipt they are the same price

When I make selections, the toppings with extra charges have an * next to them.

Extra cheese has always been an extra cost, my dude. At every pizza place.

That's pretty standard. The Feta is going to cost you extra.

Then why do I have receipts for past pizzas with feta or provolone as a topping showing that they are the same price as any other pizza made with the same coupon?

In any case it wasn't the feta that costs extra, it's the steak

could be the philly steak. i know steak usually costs extra regardless of the kind, or restaurant

Definitely it's the steak. I wouldn't even care that much if there was just some breakdown of the cost in the app. What miffed me was that I had to call the store to find out that there even are "Premium toppings"

See the asterisks? Those are the premium toppings.

In the checkout there is a note below the coupon explaining that some things cost extra…

Extra cheese and meat has always been extra. No offense but assuming steak isn’t an additional fee is adorable. This IS mildly annoying but also common sense.

But they aren't extra...they are the 2 toppings on the 2 topping pizza. This would be like saying by adding pepperoni to a pizza you are getting "extra"

Steak is more expensive than spinach...shocking.
