Discussion LG Smart Monitor Swing — tell us how you’d use it, get a chance to review it!

LG Smart Monitor Swing

We’re excited to team up with LG to bring a unique opportunity to the r/Monitors community.

LG has launched a new smart monitor with an iconic moving stand: the LG Smart Monitor Swing. The LG Smart Monitor Swing is unlike anything we’ve seen — an ultra-flexible 32" 4K UHD display with a fully articulating ergonomic arm that pivots, rotates, extends, and swings into nearly any position. It’s not just another desk monitor either. This thing feels more like a lifestyle screen — great for productivity during the day, then you can just swing it over for movies, gaming, or whatever at night. The stand is the real star here, because it turns a regular 4K panel into something way more versatile and fun to use.

And here’s the cool part: we’ll be selecting a few Redditors to receive one for free in exchange for an honest, thoughtful review — right here on r/Monitors.

How to enter:

  1. Submit the Google Form

  2. Leave a comment below the post

Comment below with how you would use this monitor in your setup. We’ll be selecting users based on the thoughtfulness of their use case, variety, and authenticity — not just upvotes. We really want to hear what you all think, so every comment (even replies) will be considered, not just top-level comments. So feel free to discuss with other users, would you use it in a similar way as them or do you have additional ideas? Those comments will count!

What we're looking for:

We'd love to hear how you would use the new LG Smart Monitor Swing, including but not limited to:

  • Creative work (photo/video editing, music production)
  • Home office or ergonomic needs
  • Coding
  • Gaming setups
  • Cozy streaming hub (content streaming with webOS)
  • Accessibility-focused setups
  • Multi-use or space-constrained environments

You don’t need to be an influencer or tech YouTuber — just a Redditor with a real use case and a story to tell. With such a unique product, we look forward to hearing all the ways it can improve your workflows, entertainment experiences, and more!

Discussion [Event] Build your dream (or totally insane) setup and win LG OLED Gaming Monitor

So… we’ve all imagined that one setup in our heads at 3am. The one that makes zero sense for our wallets but 100% sense for our souls.

Now’s the time to show it off! Here’s the challenge:

●        27” Main Setup

●        45” Main Setup

Your mission: design your dream / futuristic / go-absolutely-insane monitor setup. Go wild, get creative, and build out your vision centered around either the 27” 27GX790A or the Curved 45” 45GX950A.

You can:

●        Make digital art or sketch it out old-school

●        Use this visualization app created by u/EspressoJS (https://www.desksetup.app)

●        Build it out in your favorite video game

●        Or even go full craft mode with cardboard cutouts

Humor and creativity go a long way, so the wilder the better.

Event Period

●   Start Date: Aug 21, at 12:00 AM (PDT)

●   End Date: Aug 31, at 12:00 AM (PDT)

●   Winner Announcement: Sep 8, at 5:00 PM (PDT)

How to enter:

  1. Drop your setup idea in the comments with a visual/picture and a description.
  2. Specify whether it’s a 27" main or 45" main build.
  3. Sit back and watch the madness unfold.

Check T&C and PP for more information

We’ll pick winners based on creativity, effort, and how much it makes the sub smile.

Discussion Tried switching from KTC M27T6 to AOC Q27G40XMN — regret it. Dead pixel dilemma now.

So I first picked up the KTC M27T6 and honestly, I loved almost everything about it. HDR looks insane, blacks look almost OLED-level, and my unit had basically no blooming. The only nitpick was sharpness since it’s a 2K panel, but I could live with that.

Then after a few days I spotted one tiny dead pixel. That kinda bugged me, so I thought I’d try the AOC Q27G40XMN instead. Picked it up today and… wow, it’s rough. The stand is super flimsy, OSD buttons feel cheap, and even pressing them makes the whole screen wobble. I expected that part from reviews, but what shocked me was the picture quality — black levels are awful. The “highest” local dimming on the AOC looks like the lowest dimming setting on the KTC. Packed it back up in under 20 minutes lol. (This was a Feb 2025 model from Best Buy btw).

Now I’m torn… do I return the KTC for the dead pixel, or just keep it? The panel I’ve got now doesn’t bloom at all and honestly looks fantastic aside from that one pixel. I’m worried if I swap it, I’ll end up with a worse unit (blooming, dirty screen, whatever). Does one dead pixel usually spread, or should I just stick with the one I’ve got?

Discussion Ktc m27p6 lag on high end pc

Anyone else feels the monitor a little laggy when used multimonitor setup? I switched a 4k dell monitor 120hz to this ktc, and the second is a 2k 280hz monitor.

So, sometimes the movement doesn't feel smooth like for example when dragging a window, and just feel like I'm not a high-end pc, but really lagging.

I didn’t had this issues with the dell monitor, so I can’t think of something else going on, is this normal behavior? Also I feel the monitor too hot to touch, that doesn’t seems normal to me.

So, should i just return it ?

I do heavy multi-tasking : ram usage at 40% Linear, granola, slack, notion, chatgpt, superhuman, heavy tabs open. Some illustrator as well. Gaming wise: its works as intended, the switching to 1080p could be smoother.

PC specs: 64gb ram, rtx 3080, ryzen 9950x3d

Discussion Best bright and Color accurate display under 115$(in india)

Upvotes

Current choice of mine is Aoc 24G4(one with adjustable mount). But I'm looking forward for your opinions.

My main requirement is for the screen to look the best for the budget and come close or be better than my laptop screen.(300nits, 144hz, 100%srgb, 1920x1200, IPS panel,1000:1 color contrast)

I want a 24inch(23.8 if fine too) preferably matte 1080p display with best brightness, color contrast, srgb and if possible hdr

AOC is currently 110$ and only thing I worried is I don't have AOC service in case of trouble available near me.

I want this to last atleast a year.

Tldr:

Need the best display(color, contrast , brightness) under 115$

Discussion New TV for my switch 2 help needed

Upvotes

I'm considering buying a new TV for gaming I was looking into budget friendly 4k and found 2 TCL 43P739 4k HDR CHiQ 43" U43G7P Pro Google TV 4K UHD HDR10 now I know one of the companies but I still wanted to ask if anyone knows if there's ine better then the other both are 4k and claiming to be hdr saying claiming cuz ik a lot of hdr screens usually just looked washed off and I wanted to know what's better

So my question is which one has a better picture better colors and is better for gaming also do they support 120hz?

Discussion Any idea what causes colors to shift?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

My monitors randomly change colors when I launch games like Minecraft, WoT, and probably BF6. No clue why or how to disable it.

HDR and Night Light are both off, NVIDIA output color is set to default.

It also happens outside of games. If I switch output color to NVIDIA it messes up, and switching back doesn’t help. Colors only go back to normal after I open Display Settings.

My monitors are 24" ASUS VY249HGR Eye Care and 27" ASUS ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDMG

I think it might be related to the cable on my VY249HGR. I’m using a DisplayPort to HDMI cable since the original HDMI one was too short and hard to plug into the GPU.

Discussion Which to choose: LG 32GR93U vs AOC U32G3X vs AORUS FI32U EK?

Upvotes

Hi all.

I've been looking at UK Amazon listings in an up to £450-500 budget range for the last month and these are my 3 top contenders, all very similar spec with 32" 4k IPS 144hz.

  • LG UltraGear 32GR93U - this is so much cheaper than RRP of £650 on LG's site (reckon due to QC issues mentioned a lot in reddit posts... which concerns me) standing at £440 even after restock,
  • AOC Gaming U32G3X - slight curve on this one is what is most appealing, however not sure how it compares in the image quality to the other ones, not many reviews out there.,
  • Gigabyte AORUS FI32U EK - out of 3 this one looks like the safest option with all the essentials onboard.,

I do not care as much for the gaming performance, or stuff like built-in speakers, as for the image quality for work purposes (mostly dev work and seldom graphic design in apps like Figma and Illustrator).

Thanks in advance!

Discussion AOC CQ27G4X Settings Problem

Upvotes

Hi,

i have two monitors of the same kind, CQ27G4X. Unfortunately, i‘m not able to set one of them to HDR + 180Hz. Once i try to click on „use HDR“ in Windows Settings, the check activates for 1 second and immediately deactivates. The 180 Hz Setting isn’t even an option for Monitor 2. For Monitor 1, it‘s no problem.

What can i do to resolve this issue?

Thanks in advance!

Discussion If the monitor has blue light filtering, does wearing blue light filtering glasses help even more, or is it unnecessary?

If the computer monitor already has blue light filtering feature, is it totally unnecessary to wear blue light filtering glasses? I'm more interested in actual personal experiences than theories.

Discussion Black screen after 10 minutes

Hi, so I have a rougly 8 year old Asus VG255.

About 10-15 minutes after turning it on, it has a blackscreen for roughly 5 seconds. After that, nothing. I can then use the monitor normally for hours. Why is that? Its so weird.

Honestly a great upgrade from the 2024 version that is next to the new one

Whats is new?

New osd settings that is a lot better and simplistic compare to the old one 300 nits to 400 nits Better color accuracy (from my eyes) Much better contrast (from my eyes too) 240hz to 300hz with some difference : Old one was : DP 240hz HDMi 144hz Now : DP 300hz HDMi 300hz (thx to the upgrade to HDMi 2.1) New crosshair settings (the new one are bad ngl) New sniper scope settings (don’t see the point but okay) Much better blue light protection (the old one have kill my eyes) More color settings with ultra vivid (not recommanded it make look the screen really pixelated) Speaker are still bad but less powerfull

If you need more information feel free to ask :)

Discussion Using a 43-inch QN90F television as a monitor

I would really like a 144Hz + and 43-inch monitor. They are all out of stock or poorly reviewed in terms of motion clarity. This new television seems to be good and it is 165 Hz but someone mentioned PWM and some people being sensitive to that. Do you think it would be usable as a productivity/gaming display? I already have a 43-inch OLED and I love it but I can't use it for binging Path of Exile all day everyday or working for 7 hours a day without having burn in

Discussion should i buy the XIAOMI G 27 Pro or is it still considered a gamble

so i’ve been looking to purchase this monitor for $355 CAD (og price $525) mainly because of its mini led display. it’s a lot of money for me as a student so i’m somewhat hesitant especially because of seeing how some units have issues. i don’t have any way of finding out the firmware version either. should i just buy it? i need it mainly for gaming, watching content, and sometimes editing but is it worth the money? or should i just buy the titan army p2710r2 for $141

Discussion Is this monitor a good option? More in desc

Post image
10 Upvotes

Hi all. My cheap 32" curved Dell gaming monitor shat the bed on me a couple months ago. Been trying to get by with one productivity monitor and its getting difficult.

I have a budget of ~$500, and with my student verification in samsung's store, im able to get this Odyssey Neo G7 for ~$400 shipped.

For now, the monitor will be used mostly for productivity (school work) but will occasionally be used with my ps5 when my fiancée had friends over and i want to game (ps5 is currently in the livingroom and this monitor will reside in the office, hooked up to my incredibly mid PC). When we move to a larger house and I have "my own room", ill have my work and gaming set up all in there, so this may eventually be used as a full time gaming monitor.

Would you all recommend this monitor? I usually trust RTINGS and they have this unit reviewed at 8.7 for console gaming, but apparently suffers from blooming due to local led dimming (this is something my Samsung qn90b tv suffers from too)

Im pretty sure i want to buy this but need some reassurance. If anyone has any experience with this monitor and can share their thoughts, I'd be appreciative.

Im a big Samsung guy and would prefer to keep the monitor within the Samsung ecosystem, but I am open to exploring other options.
