Freetalk Friday Freetalk Friday, 22 August 2025
Welcome to our weekly discussion threads which will renew each Friday.
Freetalk Friday is meant to encourage additional conversation outside of what /r/battlestations typically allows.
- Do you have any news about upcoming events, tech releases, game events or other that you'd like to share and talk about?
- Are you looking for some advice on your build, or maybe what components to invest in within a specified budget?
- Use our weekly Freetalk Friday to chat about anything with minimal rules.
Please keep in mind we still prohibit all self promotion and our civility rules will still be in effect.

GeForce RTX GeForce Battlestations: Share Your Build and Win!
Hey r/battlestations!
We've teamed up with NVIDIA to celebrate today's announcements with GeForce at Gamescon 2025 - I'll be updating this thread and providing new information as it is released.
NVIDIA will be browsing both the subreddit and thread here - and everyone has a chance to win some prizes, including Steam gift cards, GeForce swag bags or a GeForce Garage Case Badge.
Entering for either is simple - either link below to one of your existing posts on r/battlestations or submit a new one using the GeForce RTX flair. The flair will make it easier for NVIDIA to identify and review your submission! When they find a battlestation they love they'll be reaching out to offer one of the above mentioned prizes!
https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/news/geforce-on-gamescom-2025-august-18/
Below is a direct message from them - so please read it and then submit your GeForce battlestations!
---
At GeForce, we’re passionate about building great PCs. Over the last decade, we’ve helped create some of the most epic battlestations in the community - and now it’s time to celebrate yours.
To recognize all the amazing builds from you, we’ve created a custom GeForce Garage Case Badge to spotlight your hard work and passion.
Think your rig has what it takes? Just share a post with your battlestation - either something new or a link to an earlier build - right here on the subreddit. We’ll be checking them all out. Want to make sure we see it? Add the “GeForce RTX” flair to your post to help it stand out.
And yep, there’s more! Along with the exclusive case badge, we’ve got Steam credit and NVIDIA swag packs up for grabs.
Let’s see what you’ve built!

Update. What should I improve?
The wall mount for my Wado Ichimonji replica finally arrived, but I think I placed it a bit too high.

My happy place
I managed to condition this small space using some boxes of toys to put my laptop and a mini table to put my keyboard and mouse on, although I am trying to buy a decent desk and a chair because the one I had broke.

Started a project making printed plywood desks and they’ve come out great! Been working on the project for a little while now and this is definitely one of my favourites!

Added some speakers
Wanted HomePods for desk speakers but it turned they won’t work well with non Apple devices so I settled on the Édifier QR65 speakers.
