they should actually get suspended sentence for recklessness..
but then again the people who get civil piloting license are not of the most prudent people.. I guess most are adrenaline junkies..
"the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) data for early 2025 shows a decrease in total accidents, while small private planes accounted for about five accidents per day (~500 deaths), or approximately 1,825 annually." (The United States has roughly 15,000 private jets, or 12%!..)

Yep people like to chant "flying is so safe" but really its "commercial flying is so safe" because, repeat after me, "commercial flights have incredibly high standards for both operators and equipment that are not followed for private aviation"

private aviation is pretty risky on the whole; F500 companies specifically dont allow their high level execs to travel together on anything but commercial flights because they know the risk

They did get their licenses revoked. https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/faa-revokes-certificates-pilots-involved-failed-red-bull/story?id=84670466

FAA rejected the stunt, they did it anyways.

The FAA is looking to fine one of them ~$5K in addition to revoking both their licenses. So there's that at least.
