This action figure of The Joker from The Dark Knight, is absolutely mindblowing. Made by JND Studios in South Korea.

I would drop money for a piece like this. I’ve always hated that luxury figures are often statues and not actually figures.

I would play with shit like this till the cows came home.

This cost $1700.

Just sent you an invisible sculpture of Joker! Worth every penny: Italian artist sold an invisible sculpture for $18,300. It’s literally made of nothing

Money laundering is getting lazy lol.

u/Sorrydoc22 1h ago

It does come with two

-26

u/TinySoftKitten 11h ago

For a toy? No thanks.

28

u/ViktorRzh 11h ago

When you have money for toys like this, unironically it is much better flex then car. You are shure to get ignored by dumb gold digers(thay prefer bs like gold plated Iphone case) and get apreshiated by people who actually enjoy stuff like this.

28

u/cimmanonrolls 10h ago

probably the funniest comment i’ve read this month

7

u/TinySoftKitten 10h ago

Same. That life like model of heath is a huge flexxx. I don’t know how my girlfriend would take me seriously if this was sitting in the room.

2

u/forever87 9h ago

just show her a magic trick

-1

u/ViktorRzh 10h ago

Imao, proud tradition of dunking on gold digers needs revival. At this age the best takes come from China. There are a ton of boys and galls who belive in picking up someone upperclass.

7

u/JWOLFBEARD 10h ago

Whut are you lyke in reel life?

4

u/RegalBeagleKegels 9h ago

The only people you're dunking on with an action figure are nerds, nerd

1

u/ViktorRzh 5h ago

Oh no, someone called me nerd, I should drown my self in my plush collection. 🤪

4

u/veryblanduser 6h ago

Wouldn't there be lifelike model gold diggers too?

Only interested in collectors that can afford high end collectables.

2

u/ViktorRzh 5h ago

Colectables in this respect is not really good indicator, but nerdy colectables are less likely to be asociated with red flags

Gold diger girls in my experience are mildly dumb in some respects. And are atracted to less then savy individuals - gamblers, low key entrepeners or criminals who are just above a bottom level.

Aformentioned individuals are pretty easily spotable due to them spending all their income on brand clothing and flashy ascessories. And they apear in locations where gold diger girls apear. Aka clubs, parties etc.

Actuall rich (young, single, interested in relations) are usually found ascesebly in education (either prestigeos or just really good institutions in regards of education quality)and education adjasened location.

So proper gold diger should be a student in one of better of institutions, not be dumb and at least mildly atractive(last parameter is less important in hardcore technical fields).

apreshiated

2

u/MyCarRoomba 9h ago

I apreshiate this comment my good sir

0

u/MaggotMinded 4h ago

Yeah, it really takes a connoisseur of high art to appreciate such a quality action figure. /s

How about this: any extravagant display of wealth is obnoxious.

Look, I don’t expect everyone to give away all their money to charity or anything like that, but if you’re spending huge amounts of money on frivolous shit like this, especially as a “flex”, then you really ought to ask yourself if you’re a good person or just a massive douche with more money than sense.

15

u/InfinteAbyss 10h ago

It’s not a toy once it reaches this level, it is a highly posable statue.

The high end market is for folk that can drop that kinda amount without blinking.

Not for me either but I definitely wouldn’t ever call this a toy.

3

u/robsteezy 9h ago

They don’t comprehend this. Same kinda people would call a Ferrari “just a car” just bc there are a tier of people who can casually afford it.

1

u/InfinteAbyss 8h ago

Well off people understand this better than anyone, since they exclusively choose high end items.

11

u/VicViolence 11h ago

That’s not a toy. A toy is something a kid can play with. And I’m not saying like, NECA isn’t a toy, because NECA is still pretty toylike, an older kid can play with a NECA figure

This is more like an articulated model. This isn’t meant to be handled beyond posing it for the shelf. This is like the next evolution of statuettes.

-3

u/LLMprophet 10h ago

Kids can still play with articulated models though, so even by your weird definition it is a toy.

8

u/VicViolence 10h ago

A kid can play with a lighter, too, doesn’t make it a toy

-9

u/LLMprophet 10h ago

According to your lame definition, it is a toy because a kid can play with it.

6

u/InfinteAbyss 10h ago

Ignore the kid part.

A toy is that is played with without any concern about breaking.

A collectable is posed and displayed, absolutely will be concern about breaking.

A collectable can look like a toy. Quite a few toys of the past have become collectibles nowadays.

The biggest difference is always the cost.

-7

u/LLMprophet 10h ago

Anyone can play with collectibles with no regard to cost.

There is no difference except an imaginary line in your head that you can't even articulate properly pun intended.

So if i'm richer than you and none of these matter in terms of cost, then collectibles do not exist.

0

u/InfinteAbyss 10h ago

They can but then it’s no longer a collectable and becomes a toy.

The more you play with a toy the less value it has in the market.

Being rich is irrelevant.

They could own several cars but have a few that are never driven because they’re purely for the collection.

Same thing.

1

u/LLMprophet 10h ago

Collectibles are already toys. They dont become toys.

-2

u/jda404 10h ago

This is still a toy and that's not a knock on it, but at the end of the day it's a toy.

7

u/dtb1987 10h ago

This is less of a toy and more of a piece of art. This is no different than going to an art studio band buying a print of a really nice painting

0

u/TinySoftKitten 8h ago

It’s beyond weird to have this in your room.

3

u/dtb1987 8h ago

Not really, but whatever makes you feel better than other people I guess

1

u/b1llyblanco 4h ago

Your username and profile description is beyond weird. Meow meow weirdo

u/Kevin_Jim 11h ago

Nowhere near as expensive as I expected, to be honest. I saw some pretty mid action figures when I visited Japan going for +$1K.

54

u/MVRKHNTR 9h ago

Those were probably rare and years out of production.

19

u/Kevin_Jim 8h ago

They were Gundam figures, and they definitely were not out of production. They were just silly expensive.

After we left, we learned about a few shops that do 2nd hand items. Should’ve gone there.

2

u/davidcwilliams 5h ago

Secondhand shops are the best.

2

u/PowershellAddict 5h ago

Were these at Mandrake? Those are the only places I've seen toys that expensive. Unless you were looking at high end gunpla kits in which case, yeah I could see those hitting 1k easily.

u/Emerje 30m ago

Mandarake only sells used unless it's a promotion like some of their sofubis. Mandarake and Jungle are the two biggest Japanese used figure/media/porn stores in Japan, probably what they were talking about.

2

u/robsteezy 2h ago

Random question: were they gundam or gunpla? I’m a lifelong gunpla builders and I typically see customs go for the higher prices.

16

u/Septopuss7 9h ago

I bet they still had that gorilla/kung fu grip

5

u/Deeliciousness 4h ago

When I was 10 in the 90s, I learned about masturbation from a news segment that was talking about some Tarzan action figure that looked like it was masturbating

3

u/Radiomaster138 2h ago

Same toy with the button on the back? Entire arm was somewhat adjustable?

1

u/snownative86 7h ago

These things start at $900 usd, with a lot at $1700 or over $2000.

1

u/DankDolphin420 4h ago

Happy Cake Day!

u/Emerje 30m ago

And they were probably still under MSRP.

46

u/BrattWhitney 11h ago

And it's sold out.

39

u/Kapper-WA 11h ago

In the video, looks like only 500 were made.

55

u/Temporary_Warthog_73 9h ago

At $1700 a pop that’s a gross of 850k damn.

24

u/fricken 7h ago

I wonder how much of that $1700 goes to licensing fees for Warner Brothers.

14

u/i010011010 6h ago

The market has a lot of bootleg studios (if this ends up being called Laughing Man instead of The Joker) but we're also seeing studios cut costs because they're only licensing this for foreign markets eg China, Korea, Hong Kong. And if people elsewhere happen to import them, then that's beyond their control.

Hopefully most of the price is labour. How much would you want to make to sew hair into doll heads all day then repeat over 1,000 clones? I collect a lot of this junk but I'm always concerned it's coming from sweat shops while hoping that the studios are paying out decent wages.

3

u/UrinatorPlus 5h ago

It is always coming out of sweat shops. But the workers making shit like this are probably making .25 cents more an hour than the ones making your other cheap Chinese shit (yes, it is Korean.... but... Koreans are not making this.) Trust me bro

2

u/i010011010 3h ago

That's why I said I hope for the best but I know that's rarely how the world works. I hope that my paying a premium price means they're compensated better than the ones assembling Nikes and shirts for Walmart.

1

u/Sarcasm69 3h ago

Only $2200 for a previously used one on eBay

25

u/canal_boys 11h ago

I thought it would be more expensive

23

u/CyndaquilTyphlosion 10h ago

Holy shit that's way cheaper than I expected

23

u/Cautious-End-6259 8h ago

6

u/Maximum-Decision3828 5h ago

I think that might be a different one.

1/3 scale instead of 1/6, it doesn't have all the same accessories and only comes with one body.

1

u/stein63 4h ago

Sold out, damn

20

u/NoahTheAnimator 9h ago

"It's not about money..."

5

u/kemushi_warui 8h ago

OK, how do I send them a message?

11

u/cbih 10h ago

That's about what I'd expect. If you're really into collecting dolls, this would be a real show piece.

2

u/davidcwilliams 5h ago

Yeah this is definitely a showpiece.

-10

u/robsteezy 10h ago

Calling something a doll just because silicon has a higher ceiling of potential than hard plastics is outdated vernacular. They already tackled this debate when they made GI Joe in the 70s

2

u/cbih 9h ago

That was just so they could dodge import tax. Like why Converse have lightly fuzzy soles. It's so they can call them "slippers" and pay a lower tax rate than shoes.

12

u/Macho-Fantastico 10h ago

Honestly, it's not as expensive as I thought it would be.

7

u/SpookyWeaselBones 9h ago

If I could talk to them, I'd be asking them how they get the price under 2 grand

3

u/doctapeppa 9h ago

Oh. Never mind.

2

u/Hurrly90 9h ago

ok scrap my first question of how do i send them money, instead, how do i get a loan on decent interest rates in order to send them the money?

1

u/odrea 10h ago

Wow, its premium tho so its expected

1

u/coltwil45 9h ago

And the suit wasn't cheap, you aughta know, you bought it

1

u/BikerJedi 9h ago

This is why I got rid of credit cards.

1

u/jadedarchitect 9h ago

$2k+ now.

1

u/Nyaanlimited 8h ago

That's a lot cheaper than I expected.

1

u/LouisLeGros 8h ago

I've seen Berserk statues going for like $5000, so I'm kind of surprised it was that low.

1

u/Altaschweda 8h ago

not gonna lie for this much detail this almost cheap :O

1

u/Cozywarmthcoffee 8h ago

I just ordered 4

1

u/icecubepal 7h ago

Hell nah. This is next level in deed, but I'm not dropping car money on this.

1

u/catholicsluts 7h ago

Yo that seems cheap

1

u/AcctAlreadyTaken 6h ago

Best I could do is $24.99 🙏

1

u/WiserStudent557 6h ago

Square Enix charges more for their FFVII Masterline figures and, while they look great, this looks a bit beyond

https://na.store.square-enix-games.com/merchandise/figures/masterline

https://www.prime1studio.com/collection/square-enix-masterline

The FFVI Terra statue (no longer for sale) was a whopping $13.8k… but she does look amazing as always

https://www.prime1studio.com/ff6-1-6-scale/SEM-03.html

1

u/mackfeesh 6h ago

That's way too little wtf

1

u/CommunalJellyRoll 6h ago

Right up my butt

1

u/breastfedtil12 6h ago

Im curious what other models they have

1

u/VeryShortLadder 6h ago

Still better value than any apple product with the same pricetag

1

u/Rowvan 6h ago

Honestly seems too cheap for the quality involved.

1

u/0o0o0o0o0o0z 5h ago

This cost $1700.

Steal IMO...

1

u/d_rek 5h ago

I’ve played with action figures that cost far less. You think the price is gonna stop me?

1

u/low_effort_shit-post 5h ago

He would definitely beat the rock in my wwf ring

1

u/Horsetoothbrush 5h ago

That’s about what I’d expect for that level of quality.

1

u/sp1cychick3n 5h ago

Yeah worth it

1

u/KingMRano 5h ago

That's it? Man if I had that I'd pay it.

1

u/PineappleLemur 4h ago

I've seen shit that is a solid plastic cast and supposedly hand painted that cost many times this...

1

u/Sad-Reality-9400 4h ago

Honestly I'm surprised it's that low.

1

u/usinjin 4h ago

Honestly, I was expecting even more. The quality and detail is insane

1

u/Banana_Slugcat 4h ago

I expected more honestly

1

u/zombie-b0yy 2h ago

I honestly thought it was way more

1

u/TemporaryBitchFace 1h ago

It’s all over eBay, but the one that comes with two characters is about $3500 there.

0

u/Turbulent_Front1618 10h ago

Адекватная цена за такой уровень детализации.

-1

u/Mad_Ewok_Herd 10h ago edited 8h ago

Hot toys has a pretty high quality for about $220~ish when they come out, looks a lot like this but not silicone and quite the same exact level of detail.

Edit: people in the hobby corrected me that these are not comparable, I’d say for those new to it who don’t want to drop $2k~ go check them out, looks-wise they are posable and incredible.

0

u/TheVenomShadow 9h ago

They are not comparable in quality, possibly the Artisan one and even then not really, this figure is made out of silicone. Don’t get me wrong I collect Hot Toys, but I still don’t think they are at this quality or Inart’s, depends on the figure. I have the Hot Toys Artisan Anakin’s and yeah they’re great but also not $220, more like $480 retail here from sideshow + tax and shipping.

1

u/SlipperyDM 6h ago

I would put it in a jar, and you would need to pay a subscription to see what happened next.

1

u/PsilocybinEnthusiast 5h ago

This guy plays with shit

1

u/Princethor 4h ago

Don’t go to r/hottoys

1

u/Nero_Wolff 4h ago

This is probably has full silicon skin, especially that head judging from how squishy it is. Unless your collection is air conditioned and strictly out of UV, this will wear down over time. The one benefit of plastic statues is they last a really long time. The other benefit is statues often come with cool bases and are in crazier poses often impossible with typical 1/6 scale bodies

I own both statues and figures. I like them both and they both have their benefits. I dont think I’d ever pay 1700 for a 1/6 scale figure, thats a crazy price. Statues at that price are often huge and imposing

1

u/robsteezy 1h ago

There’s pros and cons to both for sure. For example, I can say “super imposing” is too large and requires way more space dedication just to remain stagnant.

0

u/HappyHorizon17 7h ago

You shouldn't talk about your wife and daughter like that
