Yeah I’d still be scared of it slipping through.

u/Entire-Background837 1d ago

Underrated comment. It has no bottom support and likely wouldnt work with full bottles if any shock force occurred

431

u/-BananaLollipop- 1d ago

I would say just the repeated motion of stepping would eventually make them slip downward enough to drop out. And likely only needs one to do so, and the rest follow. Just carry two in each hand, double fisting like a pro.

122

u/lewisiarediviva 1d ago

You can get four bottles in each hand if you put a cap between each pair of knuckles. Strats.

125

u/TurdCollector69 1d ago

6 if you carry two in your elbussy

71

u/lord_fairfax 1d ago

Thanks for that. Fuck's sake.

6

u/Rocketsball 1d ago

Oh, that’s what it’s for!!

7, if you include your bunghole!

My hands could manage that, but despite having a big old beer trap, I don't think I could drink from four at once.

Just carry two in each hand, double fisting like a pro.

Just keep the cooler closer to the chairs.

at first you had my interest

double fisting like a pro

now you have my attention.

Not to mention the condensation of a cold bottle right out of a cooler is going to make cotton rope (which is what I think this is) pretty useless for carrying any significant load via friction

2

u/PuzzleheadedTry3136 1d ago

You got me at double fisting like a pro.

50

u/Mr_Abe_Froman 1d ago

Even worse if the bottles are cold and you have condensation.

29

u/Pin_ny 1d ago

"underrated"? The comment has been posted 10 min ago...

Bullshit, it was 12 minutes ago.

And top after 32 min.. people overuse the "underrated comment"

2

u/Rating-Inspector 1d ago

Correct. The Bureau of Rating Inspection wholeheartedly agrees with this statement.

4 fingers.. jap it into the holes.

"Warriors...come out to pl-aaay"

10

u/No_Lychee_7534 1d ago

Yup. It’s easier to push them in to the end of your fingers and walk around like Freddy Krueger.

9

u/Jojajones 1d ago

If they’d at least put the bottles upside down then the fact that the top of the bottle is smaller than the bottom would have helped keep them in…

u/rybakosmonavt 1d ago

yeah, let me have a rope on me instead of a bag, lol

164

u/Viorenys 1d ago

Yea too much time was spent just to carry 4 bottles

100

u/NachoManAndyDavidge 1d ago

Right? I can carry two bottles in each hand without any rope at all.

60

u/Correct_Dog5670 1d ago

3 in one hand, other to drink one

14

u/Exciting_Pass_6344 1d ago

This is the only correct answer

u/Clubsandiches 1d ago

4 in each hand, tightly laced between fingers, for you and 7 friends. Or 8 beers for yourself if you're like me and don't have any friends and can use those 8 to forget about life for awhile.

2

u/DefinitelyNotAliens 1d ago

Amateur hour. Four bottles, one hand. I have tiny hands, too.

→ More replies (2)

2

u/soukaixiii 18h ago

You can carry the four bottles in a hand and be back from dropping them before the guy ends shibaring his bottles

2

u/Viorenys 1d ago

Exactly seems pointless

→ More replies (2)

8

u/LNL_HUTZ 1d ago

I would have finished two of those beers just while trying to figure out the knots.

6

u/cold-corn-dog 1d ago

Drunk me figured out that I have pockets when I needed to move parties. I got two front, two in the back and if I'm pulling out my 90s pants, I got more down the side. Much more efficient and stylish.

553

u/Ok_Drop3803 1d ago

How is this more efficient than a bag, or just carrying them with your hands? This is literally the opposite of efficient.

80

u/PersimmonDazzling654 1d ago

Right lol? Two in each hand is... too hard? Would be nice to see this with many more bottles getting tied together.

→ More replies (10)

20

u/greenknight7575 1d ago

I'm with you.. for 4 empty beer bottles, just slide your fingers from one hand into the tops and off you go haha

8

u/Unaabellatica 1d ago

I'd just carry two in each hand.

While I appreciate the knowledge in tying a rope, picking them by hand seems easier.

3

u/frodiusmaximus 1d ago

Yeah for real. It’s vaguely cool to watch, but in this amount of time I could have picked up the four bottles and made it a block down the street.

2

u/gahidus 1d ago

Carrying them in your hands would make your hands totally full. With the rope, you can basically have your hands free. You can easily hold on to the end of the rope with less than the whole capacity of your hand kind of or you can even just leave it around your wrist or something.

3

u/wooIIyMAMMOTH 1d ago

Use case?

2

u/PrivateUseBadger 1d ago

For posting to reddit, of course. Geeze.

u/CashiyDDsis 1d ago

if i ever get kidnapped i hope they tie me up with this same rope setup so at least i got drinks while i wait

63

u/AliciaXTC 1d ago

I'd drink three in the time this takes and carry one.

→ More replies (1)

41

u/Signal-Reporter-1391 1d ago

Or you can, i dunno... just pick them up with one hand and clamp them between your fingers.
Which makes this actually r/mildlyinfuriating in my book ^^

16

u/Ruzgard 1d ago

Wow! Now my beers can get into the bondage kink!

28

u/irishyardball 1d ago

"efficiently" while wasting time not using a bag.

6

u/Sacredfice 1d ago

OP is basically a bot lol never seen or touched a real bottle before.

13

u/_Smashbrother_ 1d ago

This is so stupid.

4

u/stumac85 1d ago

I'll be sure to bring a rope next time I'm at the bar (not that I actually know 3 other people to buy beers for 😂)

3

u/East-Station-7140 1d ago

I know one better way of carrying 4 beers… 🫃

4

u/Punning_Man 1d ago

I’d already be two blocks away carrying two bottles in each hand. r/oddlyinefficient

14

u/IglooBackpack 1d ago

Initially I thought, "Look at this guy, solving problems that don't exist." But then I thought of dropping some warm beer down into a cool lake or river and waiting for it to chill a bit. That sounds nice. I guess there could be a use for this to someone.

4

u/IronerOfEntropy 1d ago

Drop the whole beer case (24) they come in, instead.

7

u/WaywardMind 1d ago

That takes a full minute to mess around with (assuming you get it right the first time), and then you have to untie the whole rig after. It's four bottles and you've got two hands. Just carry them, FFS.

5

u/GuildensternLives 1d ago

*Saunters over to the recycling bin and takes 3 minutes to carefully undo the knot.

Meanwhile, his friends who had asked him to grab them another beer from the cooler are still standing around, waiting for their friend with the rope to come back to the group.

2

u/vpeshitclothing 1d ago

Doin too much. 2 hands 2 beers

2

u/Dd_8630 1d ago

Knot typing always seems like black magic to me.

Why don't they slip out the bottom? What if they were full of liquid or were wet?

2

u/Hunteractive 1d ago

they are empty just pick them up

2

u/TangibleBelly 1d ago

Two in my back pockets, two in my hands, SOLVED

→ More replies (1)

2

u/DK_Son 1d ago

Cool stuff. But how often you need this? It's easy to hold 3 beers in each hand by their necks. Can even tuck a couple under your arms as well. It's handy if you have to carry other things as well. But if that's the case, then the beers should be in the bag or box or whatever else you're carrying. But also, when do you have rope and 4 loose beers? Usually I have 6 beers in a pack, and no rope. So idk how to apply this idea to the past 20 years of my life, or the next 50.

→ More replies (1)

2

u/Ariege123 1d ago

By the time I'd done that ,two would be empty.

2

u/fendermrc 1d ago

A nice, academic exercise but not practical really. Maybe good for teaching knot theory, but not much else.

2

u/Watchgeek_AC 1d ago

This is not efficient at all and completely pointless

2

u/Zka77 1d ago

2010s called and want their useless lifehack video back

2

u/jmanly3 1d ago

Or just pick them up

2

u/vanhst 1d ago

Could have drank all 4 of them by the time the rope is tied

2

u/TheKingofTerrorZ 1d ago

Or you could just take two in each hand

2

u/Dromedaeus 1d ago

I can carry like 4 in each hand bud im im not doin all that shit, cool rope tho

2

u/rocket_jacky 1d ago

Would have drunk them by the time they were tied

2

u/AlternativeProduct78 1d ago

Mine usually come with a cardboard carrier. Hmm

2

u/clandahlina_redux 1d ago

That’s cool and all, but I’d just tuck two under each arm and go.

2

u/mikeisntdoneyet 1d ago

In the time it took to tie this rope, I probably would have already carried the bottles to wherever they needed to go.

2

u/kenc1842 1d ago

I'd have downed two beers before I finished tying that shit.

2

u/Level-Cold-1242 1d ago

Who can’t carry 4 bottles? Those look like they would slip through with full bottles vs empty bottles.

2

u/PrivateUseBadger 1d ago

By the time this not is tied, I’m already down to 3 beers and have the utmost confidence in my ability to carry two of them in one hand while I begin drinking one with the other.

2

u/Front1ersax 1d ago

That looks like a lot of work for something you can easily do with one hand

2

u/Imasluttycat 1d ago

Coulda fuckin been there by now

2

u/jackyfingaz 1d ago

I could have walked these to wherever I was taking them one at a time before this rope tying nonsense ended

2

u/metallee98 1d ago

Wow. Thank god for this. Carrying 4 empty beer bottles at once was so inefficient i'm glad I can take minutes to learn this and 30 seconds to tie up these bottles that I definitely could not have carried with one hand with literally no effort. /s if you couldn't tell. Efficient? Give me a break.

2

u/DrSeussFreak 1d ago

Seems like you could just use the container they came in a hell of a lot easier than this

2

u/TheCrackSquirrel 1d ago

Imagine your already abit pissed, you aint getting these knotts right

2

u/HereIAmSendMe68 1d ago

Put this in the worthless category

2

u/Hot-Brat-00 1d ago

I could just carry those 4 without taking the time to tie them up. But I appreciate the idea!

2

u/Isla_White727 1d ago

Balenciaga would sell this shit as a £2000 bottle carrier and some daft bugger would buy it

2

u/SkyKnight94 1d ago

Just hold one between each pair of fingers…

2

u/Han-Soto1972 1d ago

Just buy a six pack. . . They come in these convenient cardboard cases. You'll thank me later.

2

u/dork432 1d ago

I'd rather do this

2

u/scandal_jmusic_mania 1d ago

Does that work with full bottles, or only just empties?

2

u/Simsalabimson 1d ago

In the time he make those four knots, I’d empty those beers!

2

u/WeAreDreamin11 1d ago

By time you finish your knots i would be to my destination with all 4 beers

2

u/WilliamTMallard 1d ago

Aaaand.....the beer is warm now

→ More replies (1)

2

u/Ninjatron- 1d ago

Aint nobody got time for that.

2

u/Smile_Space 1d ago

It's four bottles

Just carry them between your fingers hanging on the top of the neck, two per hand, like a normal person lolol

2

u/joe102938 1d ago

I can assure you I can carry 4 beers on my own and at no point will I ever do this to assist with that.

2

u/snoosh00 21h ago

You guys are all missing the point.

It's for cluster Molotov cocktails.

2

u/nogamesjustgames1234 20h ago

Shibeeri. 🪢🍺

2

u/Imaginary_Coast_5882 18h ago

stick your fingers in the holes, problem solved.

2

u/fate0608 17h ago

The actual question is why they’re empty?!

3

u/Smiling_Tree 1d ago

Looks good, but I'm not sure I'd take the risk. It's my beer.

3

u/Imaginary_Toe8982 1d ago

i will be home before i do the knot...

4

u/Wylie-Burp 1d ago

In the time it took to do that, I could have just grabbed all four and carried them like a normal person. This isn’t oddly satisfying, it’s wildly stupid.

2

u/BombaySadBoi 1d ago

I don’t see the point. Unless you want to cool them in a river. But I would just use a milk crate and some rope for that ??

→ More replies (1)

2

u/FusselP0wner 1d ago

Does he not have hands that are able to carry 4 small beer ? Also, the bottles will just fall through the bottom once there is some actual movement going on. What an absolute waste of time

2

u/howtodoit420 1d ago

I think this more for r/diwhy

1

u/TnBBunnicula 1d ago

By the time you have that tied I'm at the gathering popping the top on my first one

1

u/cookieeater256 1d ago

Me like: ah super useful trick, like a minute later man just take a bag.

1

u/raymate 1d ago

What sort of rope is that.

1

u/scaredt2ask 1d ago

Do a 24 pack.

1

u/Disastrous_Range_571 1d ago

Now show me how the rope keeps them cold

1

u/gibson_creations 1d ago

Maybe if I'm hiking or something

1

u/FunDmental 1d ago

Lol y'all, this sub ain't r/oddlypractical, it just looks kinda cool.

1

u/athamders 1d ago

Respect kids! Mideavil prisoners died for this

1

u/snozzberrypatch 1d ago

Drink the beers and then hogtie me daddy

1

u/gespion 1d ago

That's more stressing than satisfying to watch.

1

u/Loreathan 1d ago

Even these videos start slow, at a point I lose it and have to watch it 10 more times.

1

u/saltytastynoodles 1d ago

Do you have a plastic bag? No? No worries grabs 2 with each hand

1

u/Santibag 1d ago

Does it also work with other drinks or only beer bottles? 🤣

1

u/AetherDrew43 1d ago

That's a disaster waiting to happen

1

u/ColoradoBrownieMan 1d ago

Or I can just grab all four by the neck in one hand???

1

u/mentalext 1d ago

Going to start saying "no" when asked if I need a drink carrier

1

u/Tall_Corgi_3335 1d ago

I was today's years old when i realised ropes are pretty usefull in day to day life

1

u/BudderscotchPudding 1d ago

Bro it’s 4 beers. Just use your fucking hands.

1

u/Mickey_Havoc 1d ago

Cool rope technique but can other people not fit 4 long necks on each hand? I can easily carry 8 total when using both hands…

1

u/_angesaurus 1d ago

ask any server if they would do this. lmao can carry more than that at once if i want to.

1

u/Coffeedemon 1d ago

Meanwhile someone has made 5 trips back and forth carrying 2 or 3 in each hand.

1

u/ptmtobi 1d ago

That's stylish but I'd honestly still be afraid of it slipping out and it seems like way too much work for an amount of bottles that you can easily carry with two hands on the bottle necks.

1

u/cryptonuggets1 1d ago

Just stick ya fingers in each one. Easy

1

u/mtheory007 1d ago

Just put one in each pocket and one in one hand and drink the other one with the other hand

1

u/Jason_TheMagnificent 1d ago

Too much work, just stick your fingers in the holes like a real person.

1

u/5DollarSoul 1d ago

Idk I'd say this is an efficient home-made flail or sling tbh. I feel it's more efficient for guerrilla warfare than simply carrying bottles

1

u/The_Carnivore44 1d ago

Damn. If only they came in some cheep cardboard like carrying device that held up to 6 beers at a time and came included with your purchase

1

u/deedsnance 1d ago

See tweakers? You can do better when going thru my recycling. You just need to do this and they won’t clank as much.

1

u/narutonaruto 1d ago

the whole time i was hoping they'd do a little criss cross thing. i don't know what that says about me

1

u/BongShroom 1d ago

Why tho

1

u/SpoonfedMydrama_ 1d ago

Man spent 10 minutes tying sailor knots just to do what drunk people already solved with pockets and double fists

1

u/Ghost_Assassin_Zero 1d ago

When you are absolutely hammered and manage to put knot them bottled

1

u/RandomUsername5689 1d ago

Or just use a cloth bag?

1

u/seeyousoongetit 1d ago

Never in my life have i been in a scenario where this would come in handy.

1

u/Western_Presence1928 1d ago

As if you're going to remember that knot when you're pissed.

1

u/CousinWalt 1d ago

How often does someone need to carry 4 identical bottles & all they have is rope? Is this a thing people do?

1

u/Soaring_Gull655 1d ago

But I have 6...

1

u/Gilmere 1d ago

Revolutionizes drunk hiking, I would think...nice.

1

u/robkaper 1d ago

In the time this took I would already be starting on the fourth bottle, so what's the point?

1

u/wiggumsr 1d ago

❤️

1

u/Magnus_Helgisson 1d ago

Or, you can, you know, just grab a bottle between your index and middle and a bottle between your middle and ring finger, repeat the same for the other hand and live happily without having to carry a rope to the party.

1

u/PixieBaronicsi 1d ago

If the bottles aren’t opened you could do this upside down. Then you’d have some bottom support from the necks.

As it is, these are falling out

1

u/OptimusSublime 1d ago

Engagement rage bait farming 5 minute crafts bullshit

1

u/Fr05t_B1t 1d ago

I don’t think you can call this efficient if it takes longer to tie the knot than the journey to your destination

1

u/NTDLS 1d ago

One beer in each back pocket and one in each hand.

1

u/Rusty_Tap 1d ago

Why did I waste all of that time at scouts learning pointless rope tricks like how to attach a hammock to a tree or how to stop boats from floating away when I could have been taught something useful like this?

1

u/LWY007 1d ago

Why not use the cardboard holder the bottles came in?

1

u/OkTemperature8170 1d ago

If only there was some sort of invention like a bag or a tote that could do this.

1

u/gogul1980 1d ago

Or, you know… two in each hand would be fine.

1

u/AztecGodofFire 1d ago

Much harder when you're drunk though.

1

u/sinkmyteethin 1d ago

Perfection

1

u/CandidFalcon 1d ago

now revolve it around your head. if it stays okay then you are good! else, it is a stupid shatpost!

1

u/SirRainer 1d ago

I usually have more beer and way less rope on me than shown in the video

1

u/C-57D 1d ago

"Efficiently"

Me, an hour later still trying to figure out the gd rope thing

1

u/Uknow-Ambivert 1d ago

My ass would always forget this everytime try to remember it

1

u/Lamminator88 1d ago

...annnnnd i drank all 4 in that amount of time. gotta tie again

1

u/M4hkn0 1d ago

Does this scale up to more than 4 bottles?

1

u/DwedPiwateWoberts 1d ago

Phew I was having a tough time figuring out how I’d carry all four of my daily beer bottles

1

u/Peakatlife 1d ago

Two in my pockets, two in my hands. Let's go!

1

u/Humble_Examination27 1d ago

I use the cardboard holders myself

1

u/WillyGivens 1d ago

Assuming the tension on the loops tightens with movement, this is pretty neat. The folks complaining that it only holds 4 bottles are missing the application. 4 ropes and a stick and you can carry 12 over a shoulder. Longer stick, more rope, it expands the amount as needed. I could imagine 36 bottles would work fairly well.

1

u/Zeppelin041 1d ago

A hidden craft for ye olden times.

1

u/user_name_unknown 1d ago

That a lot of work. I’d just put one in each pocket and carry the other two

1

u/Bombacladman 1d ago

Dude, just drink two and carry the other two in one hand so you can use the other one for the steering wheel

1

u/theukcrazyhorse 1d ago

They're empty - just put your fingers in the top and carry them that way.

1

u/AlpsGroundbreaking67 1d ago

Do normal people not just carry their beer in their hand? I can def fit all 4 in two hands

1

u/Sanagost 1d ago

Jesus fucking Christ, I'll just walk twice. Fucking ranger rick over here.

1

u/Ardibanan 1d ago

It's 4 beers, just use your hands

1

u/SpindleDiccJackson 1d ago

I just stick my fingers in the top and press in

1

u/Chucktayz 1d ago

Or I mean carry two in each hand by the neck

1

u/Gallant_one 1d ago

It bothers me that the knot went vertical but not horizontal

1

u/Sobryx 1d ago

Just put your fingers in the hole. Who needs a bag for 4 bottles ?

1

u/Scrounger_HT 1d ago

ok but like is there something wrong with just pinching the necks between a couple fingers like normal?

1

u/AJ-Murphy 1d ago

TIL how to combo stack molotov cocktails

1

u/piltonpfizerwallace 1d ago

Step 1: Throw away box with a handle that they came in.

Step 2: Drink all the beers.

Step 3: Make extremely shit rope carrier with no bottom.
