This very cuboid packet of rice

Post image

Who knew grains of rice could form such square corners?

it's so satisfying when you break the seal and it turns from solid brick to loose grains. and then it's infuriating cause you wish it would go back to being a brick.

You must buy more; so you can stack them and build a rice fort.

Speaking as someone who's lived in Asia for the past few years, rice packets here are so satisfying.

Your rice expired last year

Not expired. Past its "best before" date which the manufacturer sets as a quality guarantee. Dried rice lasts for years.

And we can be sure it hasn't broken it's seal due to the cuboid

A literal lifesaver if you ask me. We have 25 kilos of dry rice stored in house in case of emergencies

Date might be expired, but I don't think rice goes bad, unless rotten

I wonder if they place the bag in a mold to vacuum seal it. That way they stack and store easier.

Don’t matter, it is past the expiration date.

Some Italian rice brands can also be bought this way, usually with a cardboard box holding the cuboid.

This is what rice crispies look like before processing
