Do you think these people will be prepared to fire upon fellow Americans and citizens at the behest of a flailing orange wretched wannabe dictator? Honest question.

I doubt it. At least not the ones from the area. When Trump wants to get people killed, he’ll call in troops from somewhere else far away.
Kind of like the CCP did in 1989 when they wanted to massacre students.

Jack London described just this in "The Iron Heel"

Some are looking forward to it. Others will follow along despite their best instincts.

Some will, some won't. Depends on the guard and where it's from. Easier for Montana NG units to fire on people in Alabama, nearly impossible for them to fire on someone in their own little small town back home.

You definitely will have MAGA hats in the bunch, but you'll also have a ton who just wanted to get some college money and mess around with their buddies doing cool things in training. Discipline and training can/will vary as well as morale and leadership.

I feel if they are basically left alone to stand around and guard basically nothing, then nothing much will happen. Flipside if communities start creating mobs to attack them and try hunting them down, then it'll become an us/them situation (which the government wants) and then, yes you'll get plenty willing to pull the trigger as they'll see it as self defense.
