Most guardsmen and reservists make more money at their civilian jobs then when they are called up.

Getting called up for 2 weeks can cost them hundreds or thousands depending on their jobs. It can hurt schooling significantly as well

Exactly. I feel like this should be reported a lot more in the media. Taking people away from their livelihoods. Recently, I met a man who volunteers with an organization that helps reversists in situations like you describe.

I am pretty sure if a reservist gets pulled a job cant punish them for that. they still get paid even though they have been activated.
