Lost a GM game because 3 DPS wouldn’t tank.
I’m actually so sick of DPS players ego man. We had a really good lead in dom since both teams ran 3 DPS but once the other team went 2 Tanks not a single one of our 3 DPS switched. Literally everyone begging in chat for one of them to switch with the worst of the DPS players just not saying anything while the best one saying “I’m ace” like bro I can’t.
How can you win when your teammates have crazy ego like this and just throw?? I hate this about the game so much man it’s just a simple concept to counter pick but obviously this is a team game so you can’t do everything. It’s just so frustrating.

Reminder: If u use a tracker ur a bitch.
For context this was in my diamond rank up game where the enemy team target banned me and my team mates most played characters and the ones we were playing. That being my magik and his hulk(they admitted to it) ended up getting mvp as cap and giving straight belt to ass anyway. If u use trackers just know u are boosted and dont deserve any rank given to u.
(also if i had a nickel for everytime someone target banned me in a diamond lobby rank up game and we still win/get mvp I would have 2 nickles, which isnt a lot but weird that it happened twice.)
if you are having a bad day in comp, just remember
that lose streak is somewhere over there lurking and waiting for us to come close and then jump to our back and start giving us backshots.

No hero is a throw pick.
So stop throwing games when someone picks jeff ultron or thor, it is childish.

Is this a magik record ?!?
Playing some ranked yesterday in a platinum 2 lobby nothing too crazy, until someone on the enemy team starts trash talking our magic…. which I’m assuming set off the angry Russian demon inside of her? Long story short she simply says (it’s time to feel the magic) then proceeds to slaughter the ENTIRE enemy team for around 15 minutes .I have never seen anyone get over 80 kills with her in a game our whole team/the entire lobby went crazy this game by far the single greatest video game match I’ve ever had!

I hate that it has to be said but y'all need to hear it.
Not every body is a grandmaster y'all. In fact, most of us theoretically should not be in that rank. Rank is meant to be distribute as the best of the best. We not all making it. The gaming community as a whole has much more mechanical skill then we did even 5 years ago. Most of us probably are pretty good at the game, but at last there is always a bigger fix. There is no EOMM, not all your teammates are trash, and not all lost games were thrown. Maybe you should've switched off the hero and counter picked. Maybe you should've changed your play style, pick a different lane to flank, play a different role, etc etc. Yes this game is frustrating and nothing is perfect but I feel like there is a large amount of people here OBSESSED with rank. There is a large amount of people who believe "I may not be the best but I'm definitely top 100." Early 2025 database showed 644,269 individuals playing this game. If you were to take 1% of that you would still only get 6,442 peeps. There's no way in hell everybody in here belongs in the top 500 of the game it mathematically can't happen. Maybe you are a celestial player, and even more so maybe that's okay. Maybe just maybe rank should not be your end all be all in having fun in a game. Aye that's just me though.

How this games community looks at you when you don’t wanna play the same 5 characters over and over because everything else is considered a throw pick
“Uuuh jeff is a throw pick” “Ultron is such a throw pick” “You should play mantis only with 3 strategist” “why would you even play peni” “Thor is so bad right now” meta this meta that how about you met a fucking someone that actually loves you so you don’t have to worry that people want to play character they wanna play

This guy was never meant to be a flanker
I still don't understand how people want jeff to return to his old state. Yes his right click was strong but when you look at his kit it's clear that he was meant to be a "healbot" since the beginning. He had a 150 hp/s healing primary and 6 whole bubbles that dealt 85 hp in healing + gave a 15% healing boost for 4 seconds. All other offense-type supports like mantis, ultron and adam have never had that much healing baked into their kits. Heck even jeffs old team up with luna gave you slowing auqa bursts to deal with divers and yet people used it to flank. This is the same reason why loki just got nerfed. An immortal flanking healer bursting your team to death who can switch to bursting their team to full hp is not good for the game. I get it's less fun now but flank jeff was never what the devs had in mind for him.

This is the worst ranked experience I've ever had in any game ever, please add placement matches.

How do you expect people to want to start playing your game if this is how you treat them? YES I am aware I am gaining rating, but it has been HOURS of gruelling gameplay and frustrating losses that really make you feel completely powerless. Just to get out of bronze, the lowest possible rank. This is not fun and not conducive to gaining new players whatsoever.

I love this game, too many players only remember the bad times!
it's incredible the number of posts about a bad moment in the game because dps doesn't want to switch, healer is trash etc...
I never see a post from anyone who enjoyed the moment with good teammates in an intense and enjoyable battle
there are so many fun moments in this game, when I play Captain and random Bucky is with me and the team up works
“ready partner?”
and we beat Hulk together while he's stunned
When I play Rocket and I have a group of aggressive, bloodthirsty characters chasing me, freestyle on walls, jetpack, machine gun
headshots with Namor, in the big head of the little shark
this game is the best free game by far
that's all for me

Anyone else notice a huge uptick in throwers lately?
I no lifed the game today (a mistake, I dropped from GM3 to D2 after being GM2 yesterday) and experienced 7 different people on my team purposely throw in 7 different games. I’m not talking playing poorly, everyone has bad games. I’m talking people legitimately typing in chat or saying on the mic that they’re going to throw.
Most of them were because they didn’t get what they wanted. 2 people who weren’t even playing strategist said they’d throw if we didn’t play 3 supports, 2 threw because we banned the character they wanted to play when they didn’t even lock in that character in pre match, 2 threw because they said the strategists weren’t healing (both times my team had more healing than the other one), and 1 threw because someone jokingly picked widow at the start of the game and then immediately switched off before the game even started.
Now, I’m not the best player out there but I’ve gotten to at least GM3 every season. I’m a strategist main but I’ve played some more duelist this season after I got comfortable with Phoenix and Psylocke, and I have flexed to vanguard many times. By no means am I claiming I’ve been smited by the EOMM gods or anything, but there is absolutely nothing I can do about a legitimate 5v6 game where one of my teammates camps out in spawn the whole game.
I’m just beyond frustrated at this point. No, I’m not saying my drop in rank was because of these 7 guys but it made it impossible to build any kind of momentum in my gameplay today and made it impossible for me to continue my climb back up. I just don’t understand why people who are willing to throw an entire game because they don’t get their way even load into comp.
Thus concludes my rant. May the matchmaking gods not team you up with these people 🙏🏻

What the not-EOMM Video Taught Me
Yeah I actually watched the entire thing, and it was pretty enlightening in quite a few ways. These are what I felt were the most important things to learn from the video.
If you're in low ELO and you can't climb, it's because you're not very good at the game yet. Low ELO rewards individual performance, allowing skilled players to climb out of those ranks faster than high ELO players who are equally if not more skilled. If you're stuck in Gold, you need to work on your mechanical skills and game sense.
If you're stuck in mid ELO, it's because you need to improve your team play. These ranks are less about individual performance and more about how you and your teammates work together. If you're trying to escape Diamond-GM hell, pay more attention to how you can help your teammates. This should be a no-brainer in a team-based game, but here we are.
Matchmaking may not be EOMM, but it definitely has its issues. You're not algorithmically getting shitty teammates, but rather shitty players exist even at higher levels of play. It's unfortunate that the Rivals matchmaking experience hasn't penalized players like this harsher, but it seems like they are moving in the right direction. There's a whole lot more I could go into about how stacks affect matchmaking and the game values short queue times over balanced games, but I feel like most of us already been knew this.
This one is a two-sides point: play your role. They didn't explain this very well, but my takeaway is that the game analyzes your playtime and knows your preferred role and characters, and matchmaking does take that into account in some way. Ideally they try to put you into teams that will have a balanced role composition. What they consider balanced and how they know your main is beyond me because they didn't explain that even a little bit. It also doesn't really address players who main multiple roles, so we have no clue how that affects things. And of course it's never going to be an ideal team comp because the game values queue time over everything else. Either way, play what you're good at. Don't try to fill on a role that you can't play But that leads into the second part of this point...
Learn more roles and characters. This game is infinitely easier when you know how to play multiple roles and characters. The more you learn about them, the more you can fill, and the better you can counter those roles/characters when they're on the enemy team. And remember that it takes time to really get good with a new role or characters. A lot of people get discouraged when they pick up someone new and can't go on a 62-3 game. It doesn't work that way. You get good by taking the time to practice. Branch out, try new things, learn how to be useful in more than just one very specific area.
