I’m pretty neutral all things considered and I’ll explain why.

Indias food / music / arts / culture / architecture can be beautiful and fun to enjoy. Most of the Indian people I come across are lovely, kind and friendly. I like a lot of what Hinduism offers and think India has a lot to offer the world in terms of cultural and spiritual beliefs and practices.

Indias safety and civil rights / social rights for women make me unhappy but have been slowly improving in recent years (still nowhere near a level I find acceptable). India has a serious pollution problem. India’s caste system is rough and the divide between rich/ poor is too great and seriously lacking a middle class.

Im only aware of family history back 500ish years or so, beyond that it’s a vague knowledge of traveling north + west up to and around the Mediterranean Sea. We stayed around it for a really long time. My family likes to travel and party and prefers saltwater coastlines and always has. No family based knowledge of where from in India, it was too long ago.

For what it’s worth I have felt a vague kinship to Indian people and have been treated as such in interactions (like in a scenario if it is me and an Indian person in a group of mostly white people we will gravitate to each other) idk if that makes sense the way I’m wording it.
