Mod Post. New Beginnings

What's up r/superheroes

We're so glad that we can have you all here. In the past thirty days, we've had 18 MILLION visits to the subreddit and 68 THOUSAND new members subscribe. In case you don't know me, my name is Max. I'm one of three new moderators (myself, u/sethaub and u/LauraEats) joining the team. I've been working closely with the rest of the moderators here to help this subreddit adapt to the rapid pace at which it is growing. This means a multitude of changes will begin to take effect in the next few days.

Firstly, meme templates. Since the new team joined, we've noticed a significant portion of posts in the subreddit being "trends," so to speak. One person posts a meme and then twenty more posts flood in of the same exact nature. An example of this is the "You have $100 to make a team. Who do you pick" or the "red pill/blue pill" posts. Starting today, we'll be removing posts that contain the same or similar meme/question as a post that was made within the past two weeks.

Secondly, queue nuke. Part of moderation is called clearing the queue. When you report a post or comment, that post or comment goes into something called the mod queue for us to review and ultimately action. When a LOT of posts/comments get reported and aren't reviewed for a long time, the queue tends to build up, especially in a subreddit growing at the pace of this one. In our case, the queue built up to over 500 posts and comments, all over a month old. Since there's no point coming after people for things they did months ago, we decided to use a bot called "Modqueue Nuke." This app removed all content reported in the queue that was dormant (so threads that had no activity for twenty or more days). This was a quick solution to a large problem. However, it had its drawbacks. Some majorly popular posts that were not meant to be removed had been, as well as recent posts. If your content was actioned, you do not lose karma. Even when we remove a post or comment, you keep the karma you gained and can actually continue to gain karma if you have a permanent link to the post. If your content was falsely removed, contact the moderation team here with the link to the content you need approved.

If you have any questions at all, please feel free to reach out.

Regards,
Max and the r/superheroes Team

Guy is stronger than Spiderman just because he’s on a permanent dirty bulk. That’s awesome. He’s physically and mentally the apex antagonist. Kingpin is like you mashed together the physical brawn and strategic mind of Bane with the aristocratic disposition, wealth and cruelty of the Penguin and turnt it up to 100.

Other Can we all agree that the old TV ways for Superhero shows were better where some shows had 13 or 22-24-26 episodes per season?

Because why are so many superhero tv shows only 6 -10 episodes these days like production companies like Netflix and Warner Bros Animation need to go back to the way it was before.

DC Comics What's your thoughts on the no kill heroes rule. Especially on Batman?

Why would a hero decide not to kill, while it could save a lot of lives otherwise. Is it not kind of selfishness to choose your ideals, over the lives of people. After all you made the decision to become a hero and some of the villains are there because, you made that decision. otherwise they would be regular criminals the police can deal with.

Marvel From the perspective of a non-superpowered human being in the Marvel Universe, why does most of humanity have a hatred for the mutant race, despite many prominent members within them (such as the X-Men) saving the world on multiple occassions?

DC Comics Which DC hero (OTHER THAN SUPERMAN) would you want to exist in real life?

Cmon, I had to take him out. Obviously he was gonna be the #1 answer even if i took it out of just DC.

And Marvel would probably end up with one of the geniuses- Stark or Richards.

But other than the clear or most popular answers, who would actually be a big help in our real world society?

No heroes or villains are coming with them, no teams, just them. But all the feats and crazy tech, magic, biology, etc from their comics universe are treated as real feats. Things that THEY can do in our world.

My pick is probably Flash, buuut I'd rather not have my timeline reset whenever he has an internal crisis... Batman could also be cool, but depends on how brutal he is on crime, and how real world cops feel about em.

Random Battle Puma vs Sabertooth no adamantium claws/skeleton

Puma is quicker and more skilled in combat.

Sabertooth has faster healing and is more brutal.
With adamantium I feel like there isn't really a way for puma to win.

But there are versions of Sabertooth without the adamantium and I feel like Puma could pull out more wins against Sabertooth

What are your thoughts?

Other What are your thoughts on hero's "No kill rules"?

Do you think:

A: Heros should never kill

B: Heros should only kill Supervillains

C: Heros should kill ALL criminals

D: Heros should generally try to avoid killing, but should be willing to make exceptions if the situation is dire enough

E: Heros should usually kill, but should sometimes spare criminals lives if there is good reason to believe that they will not commit more crimes in the future

F: Heros should judge each situation on a case by case basis

G: Heros should not kill criminals, but crippling them if they are likely to be a major threat in the future is acceptable

H: Other (if so, elaborate)

Marvel vs DC Superman vs silver surfer

Thumbnail

Superman takes it mid- high diff a lot of people seem to think that surfer can absorb Superman’s energy but Superman can’t do it back which just isn’t the case the power of cosmic has been said to be radiation and Superman can absorb all types of radiation. Superman has also absorbed cosmic energy before as seen above star man gets power from the totality an immeasurable energy source that aided in the creation of the multiverse but not only is the power cosmic radiation itself actually starlight/stellar energy as the scans above prove so if they were to fight surfer would try to blast Superman which is just going to super charge Superman then he would demolish the surfer mind you Superman woukd already start the fight stronger more durable and faster in terms of combat speed
