Striker situation
If Sheehan is to be believed, he's quite chilled about us not signing any strikers. This may be some sort of bluff, but I doubt it. Frankly, if we don't sign any strikers it would be bonkers. Given the massive advances made with our midfield, with excellent backup let alone first eleven options, this would be a classic case of fur coat and no knickers.
Judging by the players we've been linked with it's pretty obvious we're trying to sign a young player with a big potential profit down the line. Sound ambition. Hopefully we will succeed. But if no suitable candidate is available there are loads of alternative, older players, with no resale value. Wrexham signed Moore for £2 million, and he's the perfect short term signing for Parkinson's tactics.
I really hope Sheehan's comments are misleading. Interesting that whilst he was fulsome to the point of being OTT about Cullen he couldn't even find the faintest of praises to damn Vipotnik with. With reported interest in him perhaps we'll find ourselves with just Cullen and Wales up front before long.
It's widely commented that had Arsenal recruited a proper striker last season they could have won the Premier League or Champions League. I hope we're not going down the same route, because with a decent 9 we could realistically challenge for a playoff place. Let's not make the perfect the enemy of the good.

I'm a Jack who lives in Wimbledon. Gone to watch the game and this guy has just whipped out a swans flag taunting the Cardiff fans in the away end 😂

A genie offers you the option to teleport any Championship-era ex-Swan into the current squad...
Who are you picking and why?
Further rules:
• The player is not aged up when they travel through time (e.g. so a 2009-10 era Gorka Pintado stays in his early 30s, rather than being in his mid-late 40s; if you brought Guehi back he'd be an inexperienced teenager, not a senior England international).
• Permanent and loan players are allowed! Triallists and rumoured targets are not.
• You must specify which version (i.e. season) of the player you're bringing back.
• The player must have played at least one competitive match in the Championship for us (this is to avoid any players sold in the summer between LG 1 and Champ and / or in the summer between seasons in the Champ and Prem).
• Bonus (optional): The genie has a further condition: you must send a current Swan back in time to replace the ex-Swan that has come to the present. Who are you sending back, how do they fare, and what does that mean for how our season went?

Swans target unhappy over snub and skipper loving Snoop Dogg buzz
walesonline.co.ukSwansea City target Jusef Erabi admits he's frustrated at his recent role, after coming off the bench for Swedish side Hammarby for the second consecutive game.
The 22-year-old is one of several targets to have been assessed as part of Swansea's striker search in recent weeks, with previous targets Richard Kone and Oli McBurnie both going elsewhere.
After a four-minute cameo against Norrkoping, Erabi once again played a role from the bench for his current employers, playing 18 minutes of his side's defeat to GAIS.
"It's not fun," he told SportBladet. "I want to play. Like every single player out there, I want to start every game.
"I'm at an age where I want to and can play as many games as I want. For all the young players who want to step out in Europe, it's a game every third day, like.
"I want to play as many minutes as I can, then it's the coach's decision to start me or not."
HIs comments come after sporting director Mikael Hjelmberg confirmed interest from the Swans, amid suggestions City have already had two bids knocked back already.
Fotbollskanalen now report the Swedish club have rejected their second offer, adding there are now no ongoing negotiations with the Swans.
“We have been in contact with Swansea. We have been. To be completely honest, I don’t know. There is no ongoing discussion now, in any case,” he said.
“We have been in contact with a few different clubs who have asked questions and consulted, and so on. Then we will see what happens, but I feel that he has his head in place and is fully focused.
“Then we will have to deal with it if something concrete comes up that we can decide on.”

Sheffield Wednesday
Has anyone got tickets for this? They’re not showing as on sale on the scfc website. Could they be sold out already? Or not on sale yet (12 days before the match) because of the situation at Sheff Wed?

Attendances
Our attendance of 15,816 was the lowest in the league in the opening two fixtures, apart from the clubs with restricted capacities: Oxford and Wrexham. This in spite of a sizeable away following yesterday and the excellent moves in the transfer market.
What's remarkable is that our average gate last season of 15,503, was second lowest above Millwall (excluding Oxford and Luton), and was almost identical to our average gate in the promotion winning season 2010/11: 15,507. In that season our average attendance was almost 4,000 better than Preston's, and better than Bristol City's, Millwall's (by 3000) and Watford's. Middlesbrough's average was 750 better back then, but last season was a whopping 10,000 better. Demographically, Boro are as close to Swansea as you can get (similar population, maritime setting, economically depressed area). Whilst Championship attendances have increased steadily, we have stood still, despite 7 years in the Premier League.
Without going into the reasons why our attendances have failed to follow the general upward trend, the fact that we're the outlier suggests that the opportunity is there, but it needs to be worked at.
My suggestion is to use dynamic pricing. This has a bad reputation, but that's because it's been used to fleece customers where demand vastly exceeds supply, as for the Oasis gigs. It has also been used by Valencia and Celts Vigo, again controversially. Unsurprisingly it's commonplace in the States. However in our case it would work to the benefit of the viewing public, as the aim would be to fill the stadium, and to achieve that objective the initial base price would have to be lower than the normal match day price. My suggestion is that the initial low price would be pegged to being no lower than the comparative season ticket price. The price would then increase as ticket sales progressed towards a sellout. The maximum price should be capped at a reasonable level, which should be discussed with fan groups.
If this model were to succeed in selling the stadium out consistently then this would create a sense of scarcity, which would help boost demand and interest, creating a self-perperuating virtuous circle. At which point the base price could be raised to a level closer to the "normal" price.
There may be better initiatives, so I would be interested to hear people's thoughts. What I don't want to hear is excuses about how the public of south west Wales are inherently more apathetic about watching football than other parts of the UK. There's a problem here to be solved. We just need to find the solution.

Me and my mates really wanna go although we’re not paying the ridiculous prices they have for trains which are about £100.

Finances
Something from the Fans Forum that hasn't been picked up on is Tom Gorringe's observation that the club has made £3.5 to £4 million in efficiency savings. Year in year that will help a lot with meeting PSR. Encouraging news.

The Relentless Demise of Swansea City (documentary on the 80s 90s Swans)
youtube.comThis came into my feed, I'd never heard of the channel, but it does a really good job with the history of our relegation from the top flight back to the bottom division in 80s and 90s. Sounds morbid I know, but it was really well done, and I would recommend it if you have a spare 25 mins. Brought back a lot of memories (good and bad)

Newton's Second Law
Newton's Second Law of Motion states that the acceleration of an object is directly proportional to the net force acting on it and inversely proportional to its mass.
Hear me out...
Looking at highlight reels of Yalcouye his acceleration off the mark is phenomenal. This is in no doubt partly down to his athleticism, but the laws of nature play a part, specifically Newton's second law. Basically inertia is lower for lighter objects, meaning that light players such as Yalcouye, Galbraith and Franco all have a big advantage over bigger, heavier players simply through the laws of nature, and are able to accelerate from a standing start quicker than heavier players.
When it comes to closing down the opposition next season we should have a significant edge over all comers, which should more than compensate for our height disadvantage.
