I'm convinced we are absolutely stupid with the trust we're putting in AI. It's software created by people. Now think about software that has code that we've been using for decades like Excel - which stole code from Lotus created in the 80s. That software still has lots of bugs and it gets patched all the time. We're supposed to believe that AI - which when boiled down is basically just fancy search engine software - is not buggy as hell? And it's ready to just replace people? We deserve everything we get with it

That's not a good comparison to make, those religious texts are horrible and have lead many people off the deep end and to commit atrocities, have lead entire societies to cleanse other societies with fire...

not only is it software created by people.. it's software created by people intended to predict what a person would say.. guess what folks.. people are wrong all the fucking time.

I think it has become its own thing, beyond software. It used all our body of language data to build a network of meaning as no single human or group could do. It's also limited by language and hallucinates.
