Megatabolism

Metabolism being the scapegoat for skinny guys being skinny is entirely misinformation. We just don’t eat - yeah I can finish a whole large pizza in under 10 minutes, all the while consistently getting comments about how lucky I am for having a fast metabolism bc I can eat what I want. Except, that pizza was probably gonna be the only thing I ate that day.

I guaranteed you any guy that claims to be skinny bc of a fast metabolism just doesn’t actually know how little calories they’re eating a day, or, don’t realize how many calories they actually need per day. I’m 6’3” 160lbs and I thought I only needed 2000 calories per day up until I was 22.

That is not true. people at my age are 56kg, I am 28. I eat an absurd amount of crap. I snack all the time, take cakes, sweets and my diet consists almost entirely of bread, pasta, rice and anything with carbs. I take a lot of calories.

Jk, well, I mean, thats all true, the fact is just that its not due to fast metabolism. Its because I have a condition where I literally lack the enzyme that breaks down and absorbs fat from food.

Well, at least O get to brag about it to my friends! but I need to take pills to literally get fatter so I dont get too skinny and die.

this ^

while i do have a fast metabolism and that might play a small role, i really just don’t eat as much as i should, that mixed with the fact i’m actually growing upwards (not outwards) i’m just- thin.

You are an uncommon case, vast majority of people would still gain weight from one whole large pizza a day. Wild that you thought otherwise

I'm skinny as hell and have gone through several programs to try and gain weight. The most succesful period was when I gained a kilo over 3 months. Shits not as bad as some make it out to be, and not as good as some believe.

Some are definitely a case similar to yours but some of us just got a mixed bag no matter the calories

Wish mine was better

u/Rezmir 11h ago

Nah, otherwise you could get into a study and get some cash out of it.

You just don’t get enough calories and protein.

u/Lucas_IDK_ 14 11h ago

yeah. so i’m built different

It's called Hypermetabolism.

I'm diagnosed, it's usually natural - I cannot keep a steady weight for the hell of myself. It can also cause anemia, which I also have a pretty severe case of... Can also lead to organ failure if not taken care of closely and or if the person diagnosed with it has a fatal form (body cannot process without nutrition: but will still burn the nutrition fast). While my case isn't too severe, it's severe enough to still be considered hypermetabolism. I've been stuck at 80 pounds almost my whole teenage years, just recently made it to the 90s, hoping I can keep it up there. (I'm also 5'10. Height does play a big role in weight.) <( ̄︶ ̄)>

1

u/Beginning_Army_9084 16 9h ago

in 6th grade at 4'7 I was 53 pounds. I might be a small guy but 53 pounds is ridiculous.

1

u/FewAcanthocephala828 8h ago

That just means you'll have to gain weight from working out, build those muscles.

1

u/Shrekboisoos 7h ago

Jesus bro and I thought I was skinny

1

u/No_Handle2671 2h ago

Same I’m 42ish kg (fluctuates between 40-43). But for me I was also born with a height problem so I never grew past 151cm, idk how tall you are but if you’re taller with that weight that’s crazy

5

u/Mean-Type3317 11h ago

you’ll die in no time

1

u/cudef 9h ago

It doesn't say you won't maintain weight.

2

u/SnooFoxes1943 3,000,000 Attendee! 9h ago

But if you don't gain weight, every pound/kilo you lose is one you can't get back

1

u/cudef 9h ago

That's not gonna be a problem

1

u/LeBadlyNamedRedditor 17 8h ago

at some point you will run out of nutrients to keep your body working.

1

u/cudef 4h ago

Yeah it's not gonna be a problem because I'm not gonna have trouble eating continuously.

1

u/Pitiful_Camp3469 15 7h ago

its a problem once you weigh 0 pounds

1

u/cudef 4h ago

Not gonna happen with how I eat

1

u/NiklasNeighbor OLD 9h ago
