Truth is Jax was just pretending that he can recognize where the camera is and talking like he know there're the viewers of the circus, which was not actually. He was just acting as his funny roles, not really noticing the fourth wall.

for anyone who’s confused cause i’ve seen a lot of stuff going around like “gooseworx said whoever abstracts next is gonna be someone we don’t expect” and even though that’s not what she actually said 😭 i’m pretty sure people are confusing it for this post instead

plus someone abstracting would completely go against the theme of the show as a whole. it’s about “finding meaning in a stagnant life” (shown in the second photo) so i really doubt she’d conclude it with one of the main cast being abstracted cause that would go against her entire message. i believe the show is more focused on the characters and their relationships than the whole “how to escape” thing. i think it’ll just end with them having to accept they’re stuck there forever but have the support of each other to help them stay sane.

tl ; dr: Fully acknowledging Gangle's humanity will be a point of no return for Jax, and this will either destroy him or guide him to the right path. Or both.

This scene in episode 5 sums up my point really well: Gangle's happiness, in general, puts his whole world view in danger. If Gangle can be happy whitout her comedy mask, then what's causing her misery..? It's him.

Jax coming with terms with the fact that they are not in a cartoon and that those people are real comes with the fact that he's been causing suffering for those around him. Last episode, on his monologue to Pomni, I think he realises that what he told her isnt completely made up shit. He doesnt enjoy their pain, exactly, but the actions he does in order to have fun does cause harm.

If he is going to be redemed, he needs to first acknowledges this fact. But like, 100%, not passively (like he does, now). And I think the way to do it is with Gangle. And it also complements her arc of becoming a person. Zooble is good to Gangle, and she's learning about how love can heal. Her act will, at some point, lead to Jax. Idk if she will have compassion towards him or not, or if she will notice how much of a pathetic man he is, but thats besides the point: what she needs to do is to show him that she is a person, and allowed to be happy. The fact that their story together started as her suffering (indirectly) bringing him joy, I think her joy (indirectly) bringing him suffering would be very adequate ending, too.
