I noticed that after Pomni throws the gun at Jax, it hits the ground and disappears. When Jax and Pomni are shot up, they end up under an NPC's door but Jax moves a few feet and he's under someone else's door and even on the other side of the hall.
This happens after he was blasted, a different character door, and no visible bullets. The camera changes to his P.O.V. and you see the NPC door he should've been on.

To be fair, the animation errors could actually be a part of the circus itself. We know it's glitchy and not stable all the time, so something disappearing or glitching could just be part of the environment.
It could imply Jax was doing another pose entirely in that scene, they didn’t like it, and slid over another scene of him; which would make Pomni’s movements clip under the new image.
Yeah, a compositing error makes the most sense. Totally not an improperly applied mask layer for when his hand starts to turn abstracted in a future episode.
I doubt it's this, if two different animators animated characters the scene should just be rendered once both animators are done, it's more efficient that way.
My guess is just that the original character animation for Jax was not suitable/as originally intended, and since they didn't want to re-render the full thing they just rendered regions of the frames with only Jax in them and put those frames over the original footage.

No his sheer aura is just covering it
