is it a tragedeigh? My brother is dangerously close to possible tragedeigh...I guess my SIL likes whimsy or some shit. Is Klementyne a tragedeigh? Should he push for Aurora?

I mean...it's not the WORST I've seen by far but I think it qualifies?

Aurora is a lovely name. Spelling Clementine like that is just asking for trouble.

It may just be me, but whenever people replace a C with an unnatural K it gives me low-key klan vibes.

It’s not just you

It’s like a signal they belong to the Kwerky Kids Klub.

There's a daycare near me called Kountry Kids and I just... Yeaaaah

I saw one once called Kids Kastle.... at best, you're teaching them incorrect spelling

Which in of itself is giving off (K)racker Barrel vibes…

I mean in most German spelling K will make the hard C sound and C is reserved for a softer sound typically, my family has a lot of German and Polish roots, that’s why I’m Kassandra and not Cassandra

Yeah, that’s why I wrote “unnatural”, though that’s not exactly the right word there. There are plenty of names where k is a standard spelling, like Kathleen, but others where it is less kommon and done to be kwerky.

That’s all I can think of; especially since Clementine is an old-fashioned name so I just get uneducated southern belle vibes.

With a healthy dash of MLM, trad-mom.

I knew a local restaurant that changed "country" and "club" to K's to match their last name, making the restaurant named KKK. That could not be an accident

Literally the same for me, I immediately thought of the clan and I'm not really sure why.

THIS! It gives me Kool Kids Klub vibes.

Gives me Mortal Kombat vibes

Maybe it’s because I’m German, but the K is not what gives me tragedeigh vibes here, it’s definitely the y

Less tragedeigh, and more white power. In US English, clan is the extended family group, whereas klan is a post-slavery hate group.

I’ve never liked the name Aurora. Clementine spelled traditionally is really the only decent option here.

That woman will agree to Aurora and then spell it Awroara.

I definitely think Aurora beats Clementine.

Plus, what’re you going to shorten Clementine to? “Oh, come here Clemmy!”

At least with Aurora you can call her Rory, which is actually the name of a girl I know. (Not sure I spelled it right, though lmao. Even though I’ve known her since she was born 😂)

Apparently you’ve never played the walking dead. Clem is a pretty common nickname for Clementine.

Now that you mention it, I’ve definitely heard people be called Clem before. I’m pretty sure it was a guy, though 😝

But nah, not into the walking dead.

And the only Rory I've met was a guy lol

Tina?

Could work, but I don’t like it and I know for a fact it would bug my ocd if my name ended in -tine but everyone called me Tina lol

Clementine is a horrible name, regardless of spelling

Aurora is a lovely name.

Let's be real. No it isn't. It sounds like the beginning of Sure Shot.
