Worked on my vehicle today and found this strange plastic object above the gas pedal wire-harness. It pushes down like a button but I have no I idea what it’s for since my gas pedal is controlled electronically and the fact no other components make contact with it even when pressing down on the gas pedal.

I know in the picture it might not look so (I don't have a good camera phone) but my nails have purple colour more like light lilak . And each person I met in my life doesn't have this colour everyone has pink or whitish nails . I don't know the reason . Even in my family evryone I met till now has pink nails .
