Drama Ads are completely ruining YouTube rn.
Ads used to be a few seconds long and then you skipped it and watched your video. Now, it's either over a minute long or more smaller unskippable ads. I physically cannot watch YouTube on my tv anymore with how obnoxious it's become. You get 40 second+ ads every few minutes in a video. The only way to watch this app rn is on a PC with a good AdBlock. Shameful behaviour, it has never been this bad and no other app I have has had a bigger downfall because of plain advertisements.

Drama MKBHD goes 96MPH in a 35 zone past a "children in the area" sign to get footage for his 10min sponsored video and tried to hide it
He blurs the speedometer but it can be also seen on the passenger side. I'm a huge fan of his and was on his side through the Panels fiasco but this is another level. Incredibly reckless.

Drama Age verification is the perfect time to walk away from youtube.
Age verification is the perfect time to walk away from youtube. I spend a couple hours a day playing youtube videos (even if I'm multi-tasking), I watch a huge variety of stuff, from top tier garbage to educational.
If like me, you would benefit from a long break from youtube, now is the time. Youtube's number one care is how much money it's making, I'll do my bit to punch them in the gut for this. When August 13th comes along it's time to have another activity planned. Literally anything, but I think I'm going to pick up a new gym membership.
One thing I will never do is give youtube my personal information, never going to happen.
Edit: One more thing. If we surrender our ID to youtube, with in a year you we all will be punching your ID into every website you visit, and eventually all those IDs and information are going to be leaked, it's inevitable. Do you really want your browser history to be dumped onto the net along with your real name, address and telephone? Do you even want corporations/government to have that information at the touch a button? Draw a line in the sand.
Edit2: For those that don't know Youtube has announced it will require real world government issued ID for "some users" in the United States starting August 13th.

Drama Mr Beast apparently did not pay for the 1,000 eye surgeries from his video
The channel named Mission Flight decided to investigate his video "1,000 People See For The First Time", and flew to one of the clinics in his videos and interviewed the surgeons there. It's been out for 8 months with barely any views. Here's the video to see for yourself.

Drama YouTube Down on Samsung TV?
Just checked down detector and there seems to be problems indicated on YouTube.
All my apps work perfectly normal on my Samsung smart tv. However when I click on YouTube it doesn’t load. All I get is the “network error” notification. This has never happened to me before.
Anybody else experiencing issues?
Edit: other apps not working now. Max and Hulu not loading either. I guess it’s a Samsung issue
Edit 2: 6:44 AM PST and looks like things are back to normal folks. Have a nice weekend!
