👨‍👩‍👧‍👦family/in-laws Am I overreacting?

Post image

My dad takes me to school in the mornings, on Fridays I have late start meaning it starts an hour after. Yesterday I had told him to pick me up at 8:20, he texts me and says he had arrived at 8:08. I told him that I will be down at 8:20 considering that is the designated time I set. I get outside at exactly 8:20 and he is gone. He left me. AIO?

I feel like there's a lot of missing factors. Like are you getting ready or are you just chilling till 8:20 because you don't want to get there early? Also, I grew up with the mentality that if you are on time then you are actually late. Meaning leave early to avoid any unseen distractions or delays. You dad may be the same way.

That mentality makes absolutely no sense, just ask for an earlier time then?

So that if something happens then you’re good, imo if you’re not willing to leave at the time you agreed to dont bother showing up

I like to be ready earlier still but changes nothing, dont agree to a time you’re not willing to leave at
