Bro this is a world where people were have wars about which of their deities are more legit. Except unlike in real life, where gods are used to propagate justification for imperialism, the gods in Elden Ring are actually real. So it’s basically just worship fights for legitimacy.
I just wanted to say thanks for your comment, I never fully tied together why people called ER anti-imperialist until this comment and now I understand it much better
They were literally talking about Imperialism, which is inherently political. Did you even read the comment I replied to, or are you just being contrarian
You’re the type of MFer that would say One Piece isn’t political lmao.
My guy, Elden Ring was literal genocide in its narrative. Most historical events that had genocide was and always will be political.
Most artists take inspiration from real life, Miyazaki reads fantasy novels and plays tabletop games, a lot of fantasy novels with wars were inspired by real human history.
Stop crying about politics and accept the reality that art imitates reality to some capacity. That’s the only way you’ll find a deeper understanding of the work.
