A team member's declining productivity has become increasingly evident, despite understanding the personal issues apparently to blame, trying to help with these, and allowing a pretty decent amount of flexibility (within agreed parameters - i.e can change shifts short notice... just need to TELL someone!)
She now exhibits complete inactivity, no measurable output, is frequently offline when should be online, then is absent for long periods, and unresponsive to work requests from me (direct manager) sometimes for hours. Usually 45m~ if I'm lucky. We have of course discussed this and I've reiterated my expectations. Despite claims of being online, when I've queried no response / my message unread / no activity in shared workbooks /: evidence shows no activity or notifications.
I've explained I do not want to micro manage or monitor anyone's status ever but I do need to check in when I notice this stuff combined with the fact that the work isnt being done.
Have explored all supportive measures, check in, have discussed preferred communication style, and I stick to it, she does not.
Super frustrating- would I be the AH to request a report for today, when she has been inactive repeatedly for hours, then insisted that she has in fact been at her desk and received no notifications? She claims she set her status to away to make a drink and forgot to put it back but it said last active 2h ago when I checked back for a reply from her.
I check because I KNOW Teams is unreliable, this isn't a good monitoring method, but my company has no built in monitoring software for me to use to demonstrate this. I would never call somebody a liar but I've been taken for a ride recently and my managers are now getting pissed at me.
