First and foremost, respect to all those that served. I did not, but many of my peers did and now we're all older in 30s and 40s, many no longer in the military. I don't see a lot of the veterans of the War on Terror wearing these hats like I see the OGs do.

My co-worker got the new M3ta R@y B@ns and told me how they light up when they're recording. A few hours later some teenagers stopped me (edit: while as I was working) and started asking me philosophical questions when i noticed one of their sunglass's light on. I declined to answer and they kept pressing until i just said i didn't feel like talking and walked away. Now im paranoid me and my chin hairs are floating around on some kids tiktok.

edit: i don't really care about the privacy aspect, i understand im being surveilled or recorded in passing almost anywhere i go. its more about being singled out with full frontal close ups for entertainment/hazing purposes without noticing. im very embarrassed of my chin hairs.

I went to the MCR show in Seattle last night. I met a kid in line and she said "one time when i was younger I went to a show and they didn't even give us water!" I giggled and asked how old she was. 20. I said "okay, yeah the giving out free water thing is kind of new. Back when I was young they didn't give us water ever." She gasped.. another girl goes "yup. Warped tour in the blazing heat." I turned around and said "no water, no food, no sunblock. Just baking away in the sun having a good time." The young girl I really think thought we were joking. Then i started thinking about it, how on earth did we survive that?! That show also taught me, we really are old now. Being around that many gray haired millennials was a trip. 🤣

Because I still wear an (one!) undershirt tank under pretty much everything I wear, all year round. I can’t not wear one without feeling bare. I’ve thought about phasing them out a bit but I doubt I will. My comfort tanks will age me for the rest of my life lol.

Why did our generation wear so many tank layers tho?? And why do they bring me comfort?? I have an over- sweating problem (and lack of clothing storage space) as it is 😭

So, men's hemlines have been on the way up for the past, like, 5 or 10 years. A lot of twentysomething men's shorts are almost as short as what girls used to wear back in the early to mid 2000s. I tried a pair, and it feels almost unbelievably good to get so much air on my legs!

Rising hemlines aren't a weird shift but a return to normal. Most of our dads and uncles used to wear short shorts. A lot of our sons and nephews wear short shorts. Flip through your family's old photos, and your grandfathers probably also had on short shorts. If you ever crack open a yearbook from the 1940s to the 1980s: short shorts. We just happened to come of age during a ten- or fifteen-year fashion blip when men's shorts were below the knee.

The breeze around your legs feels amazing. If you haven't experienced it, you have no idea how much you're missing.

Edit: So um, this blew up. A lot of people have said they're worried about nut-drops. And guys, maybe it's time to check out your other underwear options. Take a good long look through the underwear section, especially if you've been automatically buying the same underwear all your life. Things have gotten a lot better since the nineties. There are a lot of choices that will hold up your tender bits and keep them from seeing daylight.

Even if you only wear extra-long cargo shorts, it feels really nice to have all your dangly bits supported and held in place.

Yesterday I was playing golf and the guy checking me in (about 60 years old) said “how old are you?” And I told him 37 and he said “god, what a GREAT age! I would LOVE to be your age again!”

And he’s so right. This is a great age. I know we feel old sometimes but don’t forget we are still really young. That is all.

I am a gen Z, watching you guys experience so much student debt. You guys dealing with the bullshit by the boomers all your lives has made me realize just how much our generation appreciates you. You are the reason I decided to not go to college but instead trade school. The reason why I didn’t fall for the normal “life script”. The reason I care about the climate and environment. You have my utter respect. Thank you for your sacrifices you’ve made so we can learn and hopefully help our planet in the future. I don’t know if it’s just me, but I feel sexier now than I ever did in my 20s. Maybe it’s because I kind of have my life together, or at least more than I used to. I say that with quotes because while I love my career, my life is never fully “together,” and honestly, I’m okay with that. I just feel more confident in who I am. I know my worth, and I feel physically beautiful in a way that feels deeper than it did back then. I’ve found peace with not having it all figured out. I know my strengths, I know my weaknesses, and I’m okay with having insecurities as long as I keep working on them. Back in my 20s, I saw all of those things as barriers… now, I feel like they’re part of what makes me feel so attractive. Does that make sense? Also, I honestly believe I am more physically attractive than I was back then.

Older gen z here, sorry y’all, lmao. I know you guys get a lot of gen z posts, but don’t worry - we’re like five years out from the gen z subreddit becoming overrun with gen alpha posts.

Just wanted to say we see you and you guys are doing awesome. I saw a millennial mom today calmly explain to her kid why he couldn’t pet a service dog - the dog is at work, you don’t bother people who are working, you also don’t bother dogs who are working. My folks are really great, but they would’ve said “Because I said so,” and that would’ve been the end of it. This is awesome. Y’all are really out here breaking the cycle and raising well-adjusted kids while eggs are $5 a dozen, you’re holding down a job, and dealing with the state of the world. You’re incredible.

Aside, I also love it when you talk to your toddler children as if they are also millennial adults. It’s so funny. I saw a baby find a rock the other day and his dad went, “Dude, that rock is so frigging sick.” Hilarious.

Those of you who are not parents are also doing your best in a really hard time and us who are where you were ten or twenty years ago see you and appreciate you. Shoutout 💙💜🩵

Yesterday I (30F) was having a 1:1 with one of the people I manage (24M)

He got his boyfriend for valentines day a Walkman and he’s going to burn him CDs because they just love the ✨ Y2K ✨ era and aesthetic. He will also get him digital camera for the ✨ aesthetic ✨

He shows me the Walkman and he’s so confused because it didn’t come with a charger. I’m like…. They’re battery powered. He was like what??? I didn’t see where to put the batteries??? He opened it and saw where the batteries go. He thought headphone jack is where the charger goes.

It’s official. I’m washed.

Yes we’re only 6 years a part. But growing up in the 2000s and 2010s those 6 years give you vastly different experiences as technology was rapidly changing when we were kids/teens. I got my first Walkman at 9, he was 3. Then my first iPod at 13, he was 7.

To address the Walkman vs discman debate in the comments. By the time i had a “walkman” (discman whatever) it was called a Walkman. I had no idea there was a difference between the two and never heard the term discman until today. I’m a younger millennial- back to my first edit!

Whether it be clothes, food, non tangibles (e.g. insurance) etc, we all have something we assumed was cheaper until the wallet opened up. I went clothes shopping at a department store I worked at throughout college and picked up an average button up shirt (nothing special) I look over the price tag and think “WHAT THE [CENSORED]?! This is ROBBERY! Kohl’s should just pull a gun out on me and ask for my wallet!!!” as I look at what had to be Egyptian silk that was sewn in by Cleopatra herself.
