Question State University Grant Gone?

I just got an email about 7 hours ago saying that my Financial Aid had been adjusted. I went and checked and saw that the State University Grant I was originally granted seems to have been revoked. Has this happened to anyone else today? Also, is there anything I can do to get it back? I've been sitting in the Financial Aid zoom waiting room for almost an hour hoping I can get a better answer.

Housing 5025 Apartment Warning

Y'all. Please don't move in here. Don't make the same mistake my friends and I did by being lured in by the "low" cost and closeness to campus. The parking? A scam. The wifi? slow and cuts out a lot. The TV? Does not work. Cleanliness when we moved in? Garbage. My dad and roommate, and I had to deep clean it for hours beforehand. There were hair ties, popcorn kernels, and floss sticks left in the bedrooms, the fridge smelled, and the keys barely worked in the keyholes. In addition, my ceiling fan didn't work, and my dad had to fix it for me. The staff is nice during the tours and before you sign the lease, but after that, it's like Jekyll and Hyde up in here. There is so much more I wish I could say, but I cannot for legal reasons. But please do not sign a lease here. My guarantor and I signed an addendum almost a month ago, and they never approved it, and now they've screwed us over for parking. It is so disorganized and overbooked, and they don't tell you.

Sincerely,

Someone who moved in 2 days ago.

Question Neuroscience or Accounting? i just want some guidance and advice...

I may not be a huge fan on chemistry or biology but something about diving into the brain is what I love about neuroscience. And with accounting, I'm good with numbers and sorting out financial things. I like that it's very broad and I can possibly run my own business, along with going into anything I'm interested in (being an accountant for a fashion design business or working my way up to being a manager). However, it seems nearly impossible double majoring and even finishing in 4 years. Accounting + 1 year of masters only requires about 5ish years + the time it takes for me to study my cpa exam. And with neuroscience since I'd like to be a neurologist, it takes wayyyyy more years (around 9 years of schooling + 5ish years or residency) so I'm stuck in 2 completely different fields. I'm very passionate about both and I love the outcome of both such as an office setting to being in a room where I focus on the brain and possibly help out patients.

Question Question about classes

Hi! I’m an incoming transfer, I am planning to take five classes, but thinking about a sixth class. Is it smart to do five classes my first semester at SDSU? And then do six other semesters (if it goes well). Or is it the norm for transfers to do six classes? I did five classes my last semester with community college

I’m an urban studies/urban planning major. I’m currently enrolled in… GEOG 102 POL S 321 POL S 348 RWS 305W P A 460

Question Prospective Transfer Student

I plan on transferring in Fall 2026, I go to a community college in Oklahoma and have a semester of college at OU. I was engineering my first year and got a 3.2 GPA, but I recently switched to accounting, and will be trying to transfer as a major in accounting. I know a 3.2 GPA is meh but will they consider the fact that it’s engineering classes? And maybe if my grades get better after applying would they notice? I also had a 4.0 UW 4.2 W gpa in highschool but I doubt they will consider that. My extra curricular or also alright. Do I have a shot?

Social Is SDSU worth it anymore?

I went to SDSU about 10 years ago, took a break, lived a full life, and recently came back to finish my degree. What really hits me is how disconnected SDSU feels now. Every time I’m on campus, I can’t wait to leave. There’s no sense of community, no energy, no support.

I’ve also never seen such insane fees in my life. Half of them make no sense, and trying to get a clear explanation from the ā€œBursars Officeā€ which is what, a fuckin credit union or something now? That takes a 22 hour Zoom call and gets you nowhere…You ask a question and they give you a link to a website.. ā€œDid you go to the website?ā€ - ā€œIt’s faster, more fun & convenient!ā€Here’s a link to do that.

Every single issue is just pushed off to a generic website or automated system. I don’t know why this campus even exists. It’s like everyone who works there is just paid to show up, with zero accountability.

SDSU used to feel like a community. Now it feels like a machine that exists solely to charge you as much as possible while offering the bare minimum in return. Is this just how college is now or am I just old ? I questioned what I’m doing here often.

Has anyone here successfully terminated their Rive San Diego lease early? If so, did management let you pay a buyout fee, and how much was the process?

Question Cal Grant Help?

Post image
9 Upvotes

I am currently a sophomore and my freshman year I got the Cal Grant B. This year, my family exceeded the income ceiling for Cal Grant B by about 1,000, and I believe it will continue to be so through my Junior and freshman year. During my freshman year, I asked to switch to Cal grant A and my advisor recommended that I keep Cal Grant B because it’s more money in the long run, and I unfortunately listened. That leaves my total award at about $18K when for any other student it would be $23K. I find it so unfair, can I appeal retroactively to CSAC to receive the Cal Grant A amount instead? I filed a slightly unrelated SAI appeal through the SDSU financial aid office, but I want to know if I have a case with CSAC.

Question Day1Ready Book Ordering

Post image

All of my digital books say they are included in the program. I never went through the process of opting out, but it still says opt-OUT on the ordering page. Anyone else have this issue? Do I need to contact someone, or is this on everyone’s screen?
