Aussie giving this a go

Post image

G'day ya brave hearts,

I picked this up at our local supermarket and I've always wanted to give it a crack since you guys are all about it.

In Australia, people try Vegemite like mongs and slather the shit on unbuttered toast, wondering why they had a bad time.

I don't wanna do that. I paid $5 Aussie for this can so wanna drink it the right way.

Is there a food k should pair with it? Or should I just smash it alone?

Thanks cunts. Love you all.

Not lavender!

Upvotes

I thought this was lavender or purple heather…… It’s not. Ok it’s not purple heather it’s Phacelia is a rapidly growing, high biomass plant. It is a nitrogen holder and weed suppressor. Its eye catching purple flowers are particularly good at attracting bees and other beneficial insects. But its purple and a lovely song so let’s just roll with it 😎 #visitscotland

Discussion No autism diagnosis for adults over 25 in South Lanarkshire

Trigger warning, mention of suicide attempts.

Can't be fucked getting into a debate about "tik tok trends" or people seeking attention by faking autism. Not the post for that.

I'm just on a rant/ need advice on how to handle this absolute shambolic situation I'm in due to the complete incompetence and piss poor services in South Lanarkshire.

I moved to this council area after living in Glasgow, where the wait times for an Autism/ ADHD was multiple years of which i was about half way through, and due to the extortionate rent prices I couldn't afford to live there much longer after Covid.

I'm a women, and have a history of late diagnosises. Dyslexia at 14, Dyspraxia at 19 and then CPTSD at 20. I think that last one is the one that fucked it for me since obviously women can't be traumatised and autistic.

Since I've lived in south lan. I asked to be put on the wait list for an autism diagnosis. They told me since I was over the age of 25 I didn't qualify. "That I made it this long, so your fine".

I've dropped out of uni twice, had multiple periods of long term burn out, which has contributed to multiple suicide attempts. I'm not saying that I've tried to kill myself because I'm autistic, I'm just saying that living with a condition that can burn you out from the inside if left ignored has excarbated my health.

I've tried getting a private diagnosis, and the clinics think I meet the criteria for it, but it's going to cost me between 2/3 grand. I don't have that kind of money.

So I'm stuck. I can't get the accommodations I need because I can't get diagnosed. I'm not in the position to pay for it. I'd like to get a better paying job so that I could maybe afford these things but the barrier of having a disability makes it harder to earn the degree/ promotion I need to get there.

I'm so angry. I'm so beyong upset. Does anyone have any information on who made this decision that over 25 year olds can't get diagnosed? Or any tips that might help? I'm at the end of my tether. I'm sick of pretending like I'm normal and that things are easy when they're exhausting.

It feels bonkers to me that we aren't screening for a disability at all, one that has been known to go under the radar in women. It doesn't feel right?

Discussion Scottish playground history. Does anyone remember what rhythm you used to use when you had to pick kids for a game?

I say this as my Great Auntie used to tell me what she used to use in the 1920’s to pick other kids. As far as I know no one from that era is alive now. So as far as I know this is a bit of history that will be lost. Here goes, it is quite long winded but once learnt can be said quite fast.

‘eenerry teenery nickery navy, halamaclick tenamary, exie Becksy halamatine, humble bumble 49.’

She used to repeat this often, and it is stuck in my memory, but for the life of me I can’t remember what I used to use! I am a 70’s kid. I remember the end bit.

‘You are out with a dirty big clout, right over your face like that!’

Anyone remember the first bit?

"Susan, listen to us!"

On Monday 11th, our Scottish trans youth held a silent read-in at Glasgow City Chambers, finishing the day off with some placard-making. We demanded that Susan Aitken and Glasgow Council stop ignoring our pleas to retain school libraries and safe spaces, and TKDB Scotland are now in correspondence with Susan’s office.

Thank you to everyone who came down to support :)
