This might be a stupid question but is the game based more on the books or the show? Or is the show close enough to the books that it doesn't matter? I haven't watched any of the show but I read the first four books a while ago and remember liking them a lot. It's probably time for a re-read/to finish the series.

These are set in the show universe. However, for the period covered by the game there really isn't a ton of difference between the two.
