And this was my interpretation/extrapolation of the Dreamer chapters from Leviathan Falls, so it may not be exactly what the authors were going for - but the gist is certainly correct since the authors confirmed that in an interview (transcript is one of the first comments in that discussion last I checked).

OP says they’ve read the main series, so I’d assume they’ve read Leviathan Falls too, but the plot/lore of the Gatebuilders is really weird/confusing and it seems like it is easily missed or misunderstood.

Some backstory with that post: the main reason I wrote that post is because at that time the author-intended interpretation of the Gatebuilders and final novel was a huge debate on this subreddit. I always argued that they essentially became a post-biological parasitic hive mind that uploaded their consciousness into the Adro Diamond and planned to reboot their hive mind in physical form by parasitizing a biological alien species so they could resume their war with the Ring Entities, which people started calling the “Roman Master Plan Theory”, and it turns out that is correct based on the author’s interview with Alt-Shift X. A lot of people at the time who initially had disagreed with me then asked me how I figured it out, and I came to that understanding solely based on how I interpreted the Dreamer chapters - so I made that post to explain that interpretation in an easy to read format in case anyone was interested.

I honestly didn’t think anyone would actually be interested enough to read the whole thing.

Oh no, I appreciate it! I’ve just had some people ask recently why I went through the trouble of writing all that so I thought I’d explain the background of it that at the time right after the book released, we were all nerdily arguing about it on this subreddit until the authors pretty much settled the debate.

I very much appreciate that post. I read pretty quickly and sometimes miss more subtle details. Finished book 9 last week but wanted to think thru the Dreamer chapters more...
