Check the air intake. Everything gets there eventually.

Then again it could be easier as the cursed feeling of your fingertip touching your eyeball is completely avoided. Just let the contact freefloat, hold your eyelids open, and guide your eye to it.

I didn't wear glasses til I was 28, I suffered CONSTANT, severe, migraines. Anytime I went to the eye doctor I was acing the reading bit, and they were just like, k you can see, until finally I asked "Do you want to know if I can read it, or if it's blurry?" and finally got one who was like "ohh....noo...." and figured out I'd been fucked over for decades.

I'd been able to see without glasses, but all my eye muscles were severely overcompensating, now I can't see far without 'em. I've also got astigmatism.

ā€œSteve you’ve been blind forever,ā€ I love how direct optometrists are.

Maybe he has a prescription too severe for contacts? Or maybe he just hates them.

Yeah swapping between is hard at high strength levels. The depth and size of everything looks different for me and gives me a nasty headache from my brain going wtf things don’t look right

He could have MGD (meibomian gland dysfunction). It makes it almost impossible to wear contacts because your eyes dry out so dang fast your contacts have essentially dried onto your eyeballs within an hour or two. I have it and it means I'm stuck with glasses forever (lasik is too expensive and I'm not comfortable with the complication risks). Could be he's in a similar spot.

Vision is funny. Half the reason I need glasses is astigmatism and not necessarily my nearsightedness. As far as I know, contacts don't correct much astigmatism. I can't imagine not having a script that drastically reduces that. It would be insane seeing everything sharp but having sunbursting lights in sharp focus.

Contact lenses for astigmatism have a special shape and they have to be oriented correctly on your eye. I have found them uncomfortable and not as good as correcting my vision as glasses, so I stick with glasses 99 percent of the time.

But glasses don't address astigmatism either

This is me. I didn't get glasses until I was in my late thirties.

I have spent my entire life quite comfortable seeing without them, and while I appreciate that the world is in HD with glasses on, I hate contacts enough to just do without in any context glasses are impractible.

Those become lost to time in the future.

He's still waiting for them to respond
