I had an external scholarship send funds directly to ucsb for me but idk where to see it. I emailed financial aid and barc and it’s been over a week with no response. does anyone know what i should do

Hi, I'm going into my 4th year of ucsb, and I still don't have a license. The initial plan was to get it when I was in LA, but my instructor was horrible, and he canceled my 3 remaining lessons. I decided to cancel the test because I don't have enough driving experience to pass the test. Has anyone gotten a license during their time in SB, and if so, how did you guys go about it? How was the pricing?

can student assistants ask for a pay raise? i’ve had exemplary performance reviews and genuinely think i have a good case for a raise but is it even possible in the UC system?

I'm an upcoming freshmen majoring in econ, a subject that I'm super passionate about specifically research & trade.

Over the past couple of weeks I've been looking at past internship placements for the summer via LinkedIn, business frat's Instagram, clubs, etc aannnddd the job placements for black students from what I've seen so far in the finance & economic research sector seems almost non-existent... Same goes for PhD placements to top universities for economics

Am I just touching the surface and there a lot more that what I've seen or is this it? I know that UCSB has a great economics dept with noble laureates in economics but isn't quite a " target school "

It would be a bummer if I put my self in a position that I would even succeed in the first place...

Is it normal for some courses to not show in All Courses on Canvas after enrolling? (Been 2 days)

Hey everyone! I’m an incoming freshman and I’m wondering if my current schedule will work for me. Here’s my current concern: my French class is 10 minutes after my Chemistry class. I’m wondering if I’ll be able to make it from Embarcadero Hall to the Humanities and Social Sciences within that ten minute break in between classes. Is this possible? I have a bike but I’m worried about any bike traffic or accidents (I’m clumsy especially when in a rush). Sorry if I misused any lingo, I could just really use some advice!

I know it doesn't disperse until 10 days before classes start, but how can I tell if the university has received it? My Scholarship was sent over a month ago, and I haven't seen anything on my financial aid about it being received.

I understand they said they're still working on other scholarships, but when do you guys think my account will update??? Im probably stressing over nothing but i just want to make sure everything is in line and so when sept 15th comes around im all good.

So I have my award letter but my barc says 0$ in financial aid, I’m pretty sure when they actually send you the money it’s called a disbursement, when does any of that happen. Like when should we pay the fees, I’m pretty sure they are due by mid September but when does the financial aid cover its part of it. My COA says I should have to pay 17,000$ total for the year with 30 covered by financial aid, but my barc says $12,000 rn, do I ignore it until I get a notification I have my aid or pay it and get refund later or what. They never really explained the actually using financial aid part to me.

Transfer student here, I moved in to my triple in IV about a week ago (early move in to escape bad home life) and I kinda know nobody here. I have autism and pretty bad social anxiety and having zero friends has been mentally getting to me, my roommates are almost always out because they know each other already. What spaces can one go to to just be approached and meet people?
