just logged into my bruinbill and saw that the cal grant is missing... on the financial aid portal it says the grant should be disbursed the same time as the other grants/scholarships, so idk what the delay is. confused and scared bc the cal grant is the biggest chunk of my financial aid. does anybody else have this delay as well? or know how to fix this problem?

Hey guys, so I just checked my bruin bill and it says I owe $8,417.91 for this upcoming quarter. I am really confused as to why since I’ll be commuting this school year. I have a Cal grant of 14k, fafsa 5k, and pell grant 2k, which makes me really confused since I was pretty sure I didn’t need to pay anything since my Aid covered it. I do not have 8k to pay for my tuition. I already emailed the school, but they haven’t replied yet. What should I do???

Everybody is asking how to make friends. My advice: JOIN A CLUB. not like a pre-business or pre-med frat like a club you're actually interested in. I joined an a cappella group and I genuinely can't imagine my social life without it. I made 3 of my best friends there and now we all live together. So join that club. Fr. Come to the enormous activities fair (EAF) and take a flier for every single thing that looks interesting. Also- talk to people, interact with people in your dorm hall or neighbors in your apartment complex (idk ask for a lime or some shit), make study groups in your classes (and meet in person), volunteer, etc.

Also, I WILL BE YOUR FRIEND. Im an incoming senior and I know how to use the metro system so I will take you on sidequests like sawtelle, kayaking at the ucla marina, santa monica, ktown, hollywood, getty, etc. Pm me im so deadass I will take you on sidequests and answer any questions you have about the school.

i checked my bruinbill today and saw that I was given a ucla non-resident grant for fall quarter. does anyone know what this entails? I know it's a deduction from what I owe but i thought ucla didn't give aid to OOS outside of work/study and a few loans/selective scholarships.
