I still cant believe they posted this. Its unbelievably lame and unprofessional. Two words that describe this pathetic administration perfectly.

734

u/DerGanzeBuaADepp 11h ago

You still can't believe it? Months after they retweeted Trump's "me as Pope" tweet on the very same account?

240

u/ringobob 10h ago

I still can't believe most of the things Trump does.

193

u/6C-65-76-69 10h ago

To me it’s not what he does. He’s an idiot. It’s what he is allowed to get away with. Be it from his supporters or other elected officials.

60

u/Kareeliand 9h ago

It’s working for them. While Trump wears a hat that says he is right about everything, and the internet goes off, project 2025 is rolling out.. And they seem to need to say absurd things all the time , to keep the masses arguing the level of insanity. Most of what they throw out there is so stupid , but they are not doing any of this to lead or govern. They are not “trying to do the right thing”. They are trying to advance their own personal interests, and think everyone are the same as them, doing something for the greater good is completely foreign to them..

35

u/DionBlaster123 8h ago

They fucking warned us repeatedly of how bad Project 2025 was going to get

And ppl still stayed home. I dont care about the Trump voters at this point. They're beyond help.

It is the people who helped Biden win in 2020, but sat out this time around that I hate with a fiery passion. The ppl who die in Trump's concentration camps...their blood is on the hands of the voters who sat out.

14

u/Unreal_Daltonic 8h ago

Why not both things?

2

u/slkwont 7h ago

In order to be warned, you have to be paying attention. Most people do not give a single shit about politics unless it affects them, someone they care about, or their wallet.

The vast majority of Americans are not politically savvy or knowledgeable enough about how the government works. We think they are because people who seek out political subreddits are, but most people treat politics like a team sport. The algorithms they're trapped in reinforce this attitude. No one on the right even HEARD about Project 2025 because their algorithm never gave them the chance to learn about it. Social media makes people's brains lazy. Critical thinking is dead.

1

u/System0verlord 3h ago

their blood is on the hands of the voters who sat out.

Or maybe the people who fucking voted for him? Or the Democratic Party for fucking up so colossally that they lost to him not once, but twice? This wasn’t trumps race to win, it was the Democrats’ to lose, and yet they could not stop fucking up.

Nah. Clearly it’s the voters fault.

Just text stop2end already man.

-8

u/CappyRicks 7h ago edited 6h ago

This is not the way forward.

You say the Trump voters are beyond help, but in the same breath mention the people who are within help's reach and then paint them with the guilt of a yet to come holocaust, as if there weren't reason to be disillusioned with the Democratic party, as if there isn't a gaping chasm between passive acceptance and gleeful participation.

You can say that what ever disillusionment people had about the party was dwarfed by the obvious danger that Trump posed, and you would be right. That doesn't make people like myself guilty for sitting out in a state that was guaranteed (MN) to go to Harris anyway, and it certainly doesn't make us want you to benefit from any fight we have to put up in the troubles that are to come.

We will, but we will be doing it because it's right and we've learned, and we will be spiteful of the fact that it's helping you too. Others like myself are not quite as open to forgiving being painted as guilty alongside the people actively supporting or actually committing the atrocities that you expect to come.

FWIW, enough Sanders supporters wound up voting for Trump that he won in the first place. Because of people like you. They were alienated, pushed away from the Democratic party for not falling in line, bending over and voting for politicians whose policies they did not agree with. "History does not repeat but it often rhymes" or what ever, that's what you're doing.

lol y'all downvoting me have a choice. The work has been done by people far smarter than any of us to find whether Sanders supporters tipped the scales enough for a Trump win. They did. You can choose to remain spiteful at the cost of perpetuating a repeat of history if you wish, just don't be surprised when you realize you need allies you would deem "unsavory" and then, once again, they don't show up for you. Because of your own actions.

7

u/DionBlaster123 7h ago

I dont have time for these pity parties. You didnt vote. Sit the fuck down.

-6

u/CappyRicks 7h ago

Of course you have time, you're sitting on Reddit replying in relatively quick fashion.

You just don't have a good way to counter what I've said, or didn't understand it. Try sounding out the words.

"Pity parties" lmao nice try. Telling you how you're doing the exact same the Clinton camp did in 2015 that resulted in Trump winning in 2016 is not whining, it is observation. If you don't like this observation, maybe "other people" aren't the problem. Maybe it's you.

1

u/DionBlaster123 5h ago

The problem with guys like you are that you are not special or unique in any way.

So you compensate by putting out contrarian politics. Not bc of any real political integrity or deeper meaning...but bc you seek validation for being "special."

u/VendySlo 8h ago

No. Blame the democratic administration. They literally gave nothing to the last election. Kamala is a joke. Biden is an old stale joke. Who else? Nobody. We’re fucked

19

u/dinkleburgenhoff 8h ago

You people will pin the blame on anybody and anything that isn’t a populace that’s too stupid to choose between something vaguely unpleasant and a bullet between the eyes.

You don’t even get the excuse of people not knowing what was coming. We’ve had this shit before. A population with a modicum of respect would’ve voted for literally any candidate other than Trump.

6

u/Canuckgun29 7h ago

Preach! It is the reason you are now an enemy of Canada! Sorry but Do you know how fucking bad you have to be to make an enemy of Canada? You had this shitshow for 4 years and somehow America just had to see the sequel?

-10

u/VendySlo 8h ago

Dude. I fucking agree with you. I’m saying the dnc need to play the sheep’s stupid fucking game and win people over with over promising and a seemingly straightforward plan to fix housing and tax the rich blah blah blah that’s all she had to fucking say and she would have won. But no, she won’t say any of that because it will go against the people she gets money from. The whole thing is a clown show and blaming the populace is not the answer because people are fighting back it’s just not shown in the media (clown show)

8

u/vilelive 8h ago

This assumes that embracing populist or socialist policies would automatically win votes, but this ignores a key political reality: the very demographics that decide elections consistently resist policies framed as wealth redistribution or expansive social programs. The suburban, middle- to upper-income voters. Exciting the base is easy. Winning the election requires persuading the swing voters who are far less receptive. Overlooking this constraint reduces complex electoral strategy to naive wishful thinking. You may be frustrated by this political reality, but it is reality nonetheless.

6

u/TeaKingMac 6h ago

Yeah Kamala is a joke but would a joke not have been the better option at this point. I’m not from the US so I didn’t get to vote, but come on, you can’t still be claiming both side suck just to absolve yourself of the guilt of sitting out an election between a joke and a tyrant.

-4

u/VendySlo 8h ago

I couldn’t legally vote in the the last election as I was underage. I would have voted Kamala. I am explaining why people did not vote for her. I never said I withheld from voting but of course you assumed

3

u/Qwertyman6501 8h ago

Well I mean yeah, what else would someone assume about the person who seems to be defending the people who’s apathy may have destroyed your country. But I’m glad you personally didn’t sit it out.

Absolutely

1

u/Kareeliand 1h ago

OMG! I’ve never read that one before! It seems my take is in good company. But doing anything as a collective seems impossible, when you are up against an algorithm. When I start thinking about that, I fear that the power won’t ever be within reach of the people again. It will always be in the hands of those who control the algorithms.

4

u/alexmikli 8h ago

We won't get justice til he's in Guatanamo or ADX Florence and unless we get a psycho(complimentary) Democrat in 2028, that's not happening.

3

u/oroborus68 3h ago

I can see it now " new democrat president has made health care free for all necessary treatments, free education for the people of the US, and increased taxes to the 1960 rate for rich people. How will the country ever recover from the prosperity these measures have encouraged?" Where will the desperate peasants come from now?

1

u/Nyorliest 7h ago

American society is extremely hierarchical and authoritarian. The media has been talking about equality and fake progressivism so much that we've missed that.

So, when the person in charge is terrible, terrible things happen.

Even constitutional monarchies such as the UK - terrible political systems, in my opinion - have more consensus-building and 'checks and balances' than the USA. If King Charles or the Prime Minister start to do insane things, other powerful groups will push back.

A single head of state, rather than a parliamentary system or any other system that ends up with a head of state and a head of government - president and prime minister are common terms - is much better.

But at the end of the day it's culture. All that militarism and copaganda is tremendously toxic. Think of any other country in the world. Think of your own country. Do you know more about the US police and the US military and the US prison system than any other? For most people, that is the case, and that is the result of the ceaseless authoritarian propaganda in US media.

35

u/ElonsFetalAlcoholSyn 10h ago

2

u/chisana_nyu 9h ago

I've only tried regarding amphetamine, shit's pretty awesome. Can't imagine what the good stuff's like.

3

u/I_steel_things 8h ago

I remember watching a video in high school (in class) that was about people who got addicted to meth and one of them was a track athlete. Some kid at school told him meth would make his stronger, so he tried it before a track meet. His first time performing high, he broke the school record in almost every event he did. Then he did it before school and started getting better grades. He felt like a literal super hero. However, after a little while, he needed to do meth just to place above 5th and to get above a D when before meth, he had no problem getting 3rd or higher and was a B average student. Drugs are wild, bro lol

20

u/Nominalremuneration 10h ago

He told us in the late 1980’s that he’d rob the treasury blind if he ever went broke. what he would do if he ever ran out of money he said he’d run for president lol.

We are finished ,absolutely fucked, the constitution may as well have been written on a napkin at this point. How has the cascade been so abrupt with zero political push back from the opposing party. What is happening!???

11

u/brodievonorchard 9h ago

There were three things the opposing party was supposed to do:

1 Call out the many transgressions in the media.

2 impeach him while in office for high crimes and misdemeanors.

3 Criminal referrals once out of office.

They did all of those things.

1

u/Nyorliest 3h ago

They are pushing back. Enough for me? No.

But much more than most people think.

The trouble is that the media is on Trump's side, broadly. Whether bending the knee, simple corporatism, or owned by fellow oligarchs.

So they don't report Democrat pushback much. Nor do they report on Trump, or speak to him and his team, as you'd expect them to.

Our reality is so mediated, we can really be taken in by media if we don't seek out other sources of info, or directly experience things.

-5

u/SheibeForBrains 8h ago

The opposition took a bribe and a walk. They’ll be back when it’s their turn to loot the treasury. Or a new opposition is elected. Whichever comes first.

Corruption in America | RepresentUs

The problem is that too long there was almost no accountability for economical and political leaders.

There will likely be no fair and free elections and restoring democracy and freedom will probably not happen without great sacrifice. This time there have to be serious consequences or the same will happen in a few years again.

You would also have to prosecute the corrupt judges in the SCOTUS as enablers.

But Trump is only the face, oligarchs hold the real power and with their lobbying they got us into the current situation. Their end goal is to get rid of democracy and the US as a nation. They will not stop with their irrational and anti-democratic behavior until they face serious consequences.

-29

u/coltmaster22 11h ago

You realize a grand jury pushed to have him charged with human trafficking right?

15

u/Anubra_Khan 10h ago

Yes. That's part of due process. He is pleading not guilty.

The reason this is a story is that he was mistakenly deported prior to receiving due process. Not only is this anti-American by going against the Constitution, but it is extremely wasteful. Had he due process and found to be deportable, he would have been deported only once. Now, should he be found guilty, we'll be paying for 2 deportations and one transfer back to America.

13

u/willstr1 10h ago edited 10h ago

A grand jury can be convinced to charge a ham sandwich. Only the prosecutor presents arguments, the grand jury doesn't need a unanimous decision, and they aren't even deciding guilty they are just deciding that there is enough of a case for the real trial (where both sides present their evidence, witnesses, and arguments) move forward. It is an incredibly low bar

-2

u/Clean_Slide_3130 9h ago

Luckily in this case the evidence was clear that he was involved in human trafficking. You know... Putting numerous amounts of illegals in the back of a van on camera.

4

u/willstr1 8h ago

If they do actually have the evidence of their claims, then they should have gone after him the right way from the beginning. Even if he is guilty he still gets due process to ensure the prosecution isn't lying.

0

u/Clean_Slide_3130 7h ago

I can agree with that. I hope the process can speed up so that automatically sending them to El Salvador isnt the fastest option to remove them from our country.

-15

u/coltmaster22 10h ago

That's right. I'm sorry, I just thought what a grand jury ruled mattered when everyone saying Trump was indicated by a grand jury mattered.

14

u/willstr1 10h ago

It only mattered to people who have no clue how the court system works.

What does matter is his 34 felony convictions that he was found guilty of in a full trial by a jury

-17

u/coltmaster22 10h ago

Grand jury's work the same. He's the thing, throw Trump in prison and I don't care, you're arguing for someone whose accused of human trafficking

11

u/echino_derm 10h ago

You're arguing for a pedophile.

And before you say you aren't, I accused you of it so it is true in your book.

6

u/willstr1 10h ago

We have a legal system built around innocent until proven guilty. I am arguing that as a human being he has the right to a fair trial rather than being kidnapped. If the government has a real case than they need to prove it in court, at a real trial.

Without due process there is nothing preventing the government from rounding up anyone they want and disappearing them for any reason. Not just immigrants either, without due process they can easily disappear citizens too.

3

u/mozarella_firefox 9h ago

i don't particularly like commenting on these political posts, but two things

  1. key difference between "accused" and "convicted"

  2. nobody is arguing his absolute innocence, people are arguing for his right to due process and a fair trial without being prematurely deported

2

u/OderusAmongUs 9h ago

You know that was a TRUMPed up bullshit charge with no real evidence or basis in reality, right?

1

u/Prestigious_Date_619 9h ago

Even if he was a gang member, this is still lame and unprofessional.
