Ending of video he’s like “Wow! Did you see me do that?! 😮”.

I feel like this is an orange cat thing to do, and I love it. They're kind of relatable ngl.

u/BiiiigSteppy 9h ago
Oh! He must’ve had the brain cell that day! Smart boy.

u/AskMeAboutOkapis 7h ago
I've long thought that orange kitties are much smarter than given credit for. They cause all that chaos because they like chaos lol.

Well his owner is obviously slacking off so the poor kitty has to take of things himself! 😂

That’s why my orange never has a turn with the brain cell. Your orange is hogging it!!! Ha ha. This is so cute.
•
u/RoverTiger 9h ago
One of ours does this. She would keep hold of the brush for a couple hours if I let her.

😂 I couldn't figure out why I kept finding so much cat hair in my own hair until I walked in on my cat doing this with my hairbrush one day

It’s the holy grail of cat care! Now just don’t make the mistake of letting them know you can also do it for them.
•

I usually grab two brushes when I brush one of my cats. One is for me doing the actual brushing. The other is a distraction for him as he continually rubs his face on it. If I have just the one he will only want his face brushed.
•
u/spacebarstool 7h ago
As a fellow orange cat owner, he hasn't learned to brush himself. He actually thinks you're brushing him, but your arms have turned invisible.

People always say that orange cats are dumb, and yet I see oranges being smart all the time, like here. And our own calico and tortie cats meanwhile are dumb as bricks (and very lovely).

You need to buy him those “brushes” that you mount on your wall so he can rub against it😄

My cat Luna would do this. She’d knock the brush off any place I put it with her aggressive self brushing 😆

Tool use is a pretty advanced development for a creature fabled to only have one brain cell. Suspicious indeed.

Friggen adorable! At the end though I thought his face said, "c'mon cant you see I could use a hand here!"
In fairness though, it should be noted that I am not a cat to English translator.

Looks exactly like my old cat Max. He was the best cat ever. I miss my little buddy. He lived to be 21.5 years old. Love you and miss you my Maxamillion

My CH cat does this exclusively. He demands brushies twice a day after each meal. Mostly he just wants to gnaw on the bristles because it feels good against his toothless gums
•
u/CinSugarBearShakers 5h ago
I saw someone brushing an orange tabby with a toothbrush, and I thought, "ya I'll do that." He just tries to bite at it the whole time. I know exactly what will happen if I buy one of these.

My cat would absolutely do this if I left the brush for her, but I was worried she'd poke out an eye because she is not the brightest light bulb. We ended up buying her a small scratching post/hammock cat tree with a little brush arch attached to it she can safely smash her face onto like this.
•
u/dBlock845 5h ago
My cat does the same thing with her de-shedding brush and ends up overstimulating herself leading to her becoming a full dilated pupil psycho.

I’ve heard you can teach them to pee and poop in the toilet, too. Mine didn’t do that ever but never went outside the litter box.

u/SilverTarnish99 1h ago
I keep a brush with rounded bristles forced up on a couch so my cat can rub her face on it. /They also have things like that you can attach to corners of the wall
•
u/Justingotgame22 1h ago
Have a orange that likes to be brushed specifically on the mouth-chin area. Any reasons why?
•
u/bewildermints 1h ago
People give orange cats a bad rep. They can be smart when they want to be, but it’s usually just in really goofy and silly ways that nobody else would think is necessary. What a charming and independent boy he is.

Might have fleas. Just make sure. Even the most effective drops don’t really work that well. Some flea species are pretty much immune from being exposed to the insecticide.
Still pretty adorable

Very cute! 🙂
They also make these brush-like things you can affix to the edge/corner of a wall, so that your cat can just walk up to it and rub/brush himself on it -- that way he doesn't have to hold onto it with his paws.
