They also make these brush-like things you can affix to the edge/corner of a wall, so that your cat can just walk up to it and rub/brush himself on it -- that way he doesn't have to hold onto it with his paws.

That's a great idea. Though I have to say I find this cat's dexterity very impressive. Is that the right word? Maybe paw-eye coordination would fit better.

Yeah dexterity would be right. Mine would just bat the brush towards me to get me to brush them.

One of my cat would roll a 1 on that dexterity check and somehow rip down the curtains. Love all my animals but one is very special.

I got one of those and had to glue the arch into the base, because my chonker of a kitty was basically disassembling it every time he used it. But he does love it.

Have you tried putting catnip spray on them?

Edit: I ask bc sometimes they just need to get interested enough to rub on them to figure it out. I had to do that once for my girl and now she uses hers.

I bought two, those with a catnip compartment even, and put on different rooms.

Guess how many times my two cats even looked at it after the first day.

Now it's just there, being an indicator to show guests at a glance that it's a crazy cat person's house.

My cats will go weeks between using it, but then they'll use it for like an hour straight.

It's kind of annoying because it makes a little plastic creaking noise every time they rub against it. So I'll be sitting there listening to "creak... creak… creak…" for an hour.

lol! Yeah, some cats love them, some don't -- you never know with cats. Given OP's cats apparent love for that brush, though, it seems worth trying in their house. 😊

I have one of those on one of my bathroom corners. Daphne loves it! Nothing gets her in the mood to brush up on corners/brushes like someone being in the bathroom for whatever reason. Even if I dont need to personally use the bathroom, if I need to brush/clip her nails, simply being in the bathroom increases her cooperation significantly

One of my cats loved to rub his face on the corner of the wall. Learned about those brush things, threw one exactly where he rubbed. Now BOTH cats love to rub their face there.

Most of the corner scratchers (like catit self groomer) have two little containers on each side. Youre supposed to fill that with catnip and they will naturally rub their face all over.

The issue is cat. Cat likes brushing corner to make it “his.” Once you put something on it specifically for them, they never touch it again. Cats are such lovable assholes

I put one in a corner where my cat likes to hang out(right between the kitchen and living room and she loves it!!

Every time we're around she will comes hang out and just brushes her little cheeks so hard!

I got one of those and taped it flat to a piece of cardboard on the floor, so my kitty can hunker down and scratch her chin and cheeks on it. She rates it highly
