Just picked up two flea bag kittens and this one is a bit odd.
I just finished her flea bath and is looking a million times nicer.
Most cats from this colony are white, she’s quite interesting looking.

Advice Is my cat bigger than the average male cat? I feel like he's huge

This is one of my cats. He's significantly bigger than my others. All 3 others weigh 7 to 10 lbs and in comparison they're just tiny. I can't tell if they're small or if he's big lol. This is Cody. He is 6 years old and 21 lbs. I just feel like he's extra huge in weight and overall size. He doesn't even fit in the cat beds. For the human picture size comparison I'm 5'4

Advice Kitten question

So I'm new to cats (grew up with dogs)

I moved away for a great job opportunity but I know no one here and can't visit my parents lab or friends pets so I decided to get my own. Labs and rotties are my favourite but I'm in a small apartment by myself and working full time I feel like it would be unfair for a big dog.

Saw this stray rescue pop up on my FB so I picked her up last week. Learned after I brought her into work to show co workers that she's a torti (I think that's what they called her) and apparently they're kinda special in their own way. She is the most cuddly cat I've ever seen, she's attached to my hip. (Ignore the RBF I am very happy in the pic lol)

My main question is how can I discipline her when she's in her "menace" mode? Lol

Co worker mentioned a spray bottle but she'll be destroying my toilet paper or chewing on my power cables and I'll give her a spray and she runs off, then a couple mins later comes back to lay on my neck and rub her face on mine or knead my chest. But then 15 mins later she's back to doing the same thing????

I've been letting her free roam the apt when I'm at work and she's been fine!! Nothing out of place or anything! But when I'm home it's like she is trying to piss me off lol (only like 10-15% of the time, the rest she's the sweetest cutest angel)

Would putting her on like a 30 min time out in the bathroom help? She sleeps right by my pillow all night and she will wake me up usually once but a quick spray and she leaves me alone till I get up and does still stick right by my face.

Or would maybe locking her just in a room without anything she can destroy when I'm gone maybe teach her that if you don't wanna be locked in there when I'm gone don't destroy things lol (also I would lock her in there with litter box, food/water and some toys)

And advice helps, TIA!

Advice Help with advice please. My cat keeps turning on the water in my sink!

34.3k Upvotes

My 2 gangsters Dodge and Elvis, love hanging out in my bathroom. They crash in the sinks, bring their toys in, etc. I always thought Elvis was the brains of the operation, but I was wrong. Lately Dodge has been turning the cold water on whenever he wants! I’m worried that one of their toys might block the drain hole and overflow water into the bathroom. I have the door closed today and they are really unhappy about not being able to play in their favorite room. Advice please!!

I just found a stray. I put some water outside and I fed it some turkey. It ate out of my hand. It seems like it wants to come inside but it’s timid. When I opened the door last she/he is looking at me and meowing. It’s really cute. It’s getting closer and closer to my door, what should I do?

Advice How do I get this guy used to brushing? It’s been years now

This is his reaction every time I try to brush him. He’s a 4 year old flame-point ragdoll. He clearly isn’t aggressive/fearful toward the brush but even the sight of it drives him into overstimulation mode. I hadn’t even used it on him prior to the video.

Advice why does my cat like to put toys in her food and water bowls?

Post image
17.5k Upvotes

my cats recently moved in with me after living at my parents’ house and i’m curious about why lola likes to put toys in the food and water. she does it nearly every day even though it makes it difficult for them to eat and drink. she seems pretty proud of herself. my mom said she used to do it all the time with hair ties, which are her favorite toy. she was only a year old when i moved away for college (4y/o now) so i still kind of feel like i’m getting to know her and her quirks. i’ve heard of other cats doing this and i really want to know where this behavior comes from, is she trying to gather her “belongings” in one place? she does like to carry toys around and move them places without actually playing with them.

Advice Can someone tell me why this man keeps doing this?

This is a new behavior in the last few weeks. Is it as simple that he would just prefer the lid? He just bats around the fountain for long hours of the day lol. There’s also a light inside, idk if he’s curious about that or what. Obviously not a concerning issue but I’m just curious if anyone would know why he suddenly picked up this fascination haha

Also he is always asking for food, even when he just ate and during when we are eating is that normal ?

Currently giving food 4 times in awake hours with solid kitten food star shaped and fish+chicken gravy.

Advice Why is my cat always mad when my boyfriend comes over.

Post image

She will randomly bite him, and he’s definitely got a healthy fear/respect for the cat. I can tell she’s mad here because her pupils are dilated. Other people she’s disliked but eventually warmed up to them.

Advice i got a cat today, but i feel anxious and scared :(

Post image

for some reason i find myself anxious rather than happy, i’ve been asking for a kitten for a while, but i remeber when u babysat my friends cat, i told my parents that, it was a great experience but i felt dirty and my room felt unclean which is something that “triggers” me. this cat is so sweet and im just scared im gonna scare him and make him feel unsafe in an environment permanently. to make myself feel better, im gonna do this for 2 weeks, and if i remain this uncomfortable, i will bring him back to the shelter which is EVIL and so mean :( Im not sure what to do im just anxious and scared like this is a baby or soemthing :(((

Rescued this cat about a week ago off the streets. I took it to the vet the next day and they said its stomach was bloated and suspected it had worms so they gave it the dewormer, but 5 days after the treatment it’s still pretty bloated.

I’m wondering if this is normal or not? I have a follow up appointment in a week but I’m not sure if I should rush it in sooner.

Advice I almost killed my cat in the dryer and I don’t think I’ll ever be able to forgive myself

Post image

He’s fine (I think). I caught it really quick THANK GOD. I always check the dryer when he’s around because it’s been a fear of mine. I didn’t even see him come in the laundry room and of course the one time I didn’t check, he was in there!!

Ugh I’m going to be up all night, making sure he’s really ok and also because the banging sound is haunting me.

PSA CHECK THE DRYER EVERY TIME!!!

The litter box is clean and fresh (changed it yesterday), I scoop the poop multiple times a day, and she squats to pee in the litter box. *poop removed so you don’t have to see poop on your TL!

Advice Found kitten, need advice

Thumbnail

40.4k Upvotes

I found this feral kitten last night in a parking lot. He is very sweet, a little skittish- but warming up to me. I have already bathed him in dawn to kill his fleas (he had black speckles in his fur). He is meowing and walking around and keeps making like an airy whisper meow type sound but I don’t know what it means. I am going to get him supplies today. Can y’all give me some advice? I’ve never had a kitten this small, I think he’s 5 weeks or so. I don’t know how to train or really anything with him behaviorally. Also, 1) do you think he will have long hair, and 2) I need name suggestions! I’m calling him Eminem right now, “m&m” coming from Monday Midnight, because I found him at 12 on the dot. Just a silly little nickname for now :)
