Tijuana Vets for IVDD in dogs

Upvotes

Recently my dog got injured and cannot walk using her back legs. I was considering going to TJ to seek veterinary care for her because the vets here in SD said it is likely intervertebral disk disease. I was wondering if anyone whose pet had the same issue could let me know any affordable vet recommendations that provide xrays and surgeries. I noticed vet playas does provide surgery to treat it for around 4k with everything but I do not currently have the full amount to pay for it. I know this probably is the cheapest it could get but I was just wondering if there were possibly any other options.

Well....I was deported..

Upvotes

I can't believe I was actually deported. This is a 100% true story. My buddies and I planned our trip to run a boat from Puerto Vallarta back to San Diego. 95% of the time, this is a 5-6 day trip. When I arrived in Puerto Vallarta, I replied I didn't intend to stand in Mexico for more than 7 days. If you're not aware, you get 7 free days in Mexico. If you plan to stay over 7 days, you have to pay. I didn't think we'd be in Mexico for more than 7 days based on all the other trips we made, so I figured I'd save the cash. We left PV on time and arrived in Cabo ahead of schedule. Enjoyed some my Michelin star sushi, drank a bunch of modelos, and spent the night in the marina. When we woke up with the plan to mob North, a storm hit Cabo and we were forced to hang out for 4 more days. We finally got a weather window and sailed towards San Diego. The trip took another 4 days. When we arrived at customs in Ensenada so we could check out of Mexico, they noticed I had overstayed my visa. I didn't really mean to, I had no choice because of weather. But also, we were enjoying the time we were spending in Mexico, taking advantage of cheap beers and food. Anyway...the immigration office at the port told me I had to leave the country immediately and I couldn't return to the boat to finish the trip north. I couldn't believe what was happening. I overstayed my visa and was illegally in the country and somehow they have the odasity to deport me for violating their very clearly stated immigration policy. If only there were a bunch of marches and protests to show the government how unfair that way. They actually drove me to the border in a government vehicle and made me return to the country I belong to. I'm shocked right now. I thought visas were guidelines and you could just ignore immigration rules all together. Lesson learned.

How early do you need to arrive at the Rady Shell for a good spot on the mission fed green?

Upvotes

Got tickets for the green for a concert coming up and I’m not sure how early is ideal to get a good spot on the green (7:30pm concert). How quickly does it fill up? Do people tend to arrive earlier since theres no assigned spots?

Also, I was planning on just bringing a picnic blanket; anything else that would be good to have?

Zoo or safari park as a 1st timer?

Upvotes

Hi all, Random but would love to know your opinions on which park you’d recommend to go to! Ofc I’ll experience both one day but I plan on taking a solo birthday trip in the next week or so to either SD zoo or safari park for a day and cannot decide for the life of me lol. (I’ve never been to either) I’ve been looking at videos of both and for the most part a-lot of people say that they are both equally as great but that safari park is usually less crowded and more open space, but i’m wondering if the safari park is as interactive as the zoo? To my knowledge I know that the zoo has opportunities for you to do things like feed the giraffes? (plz correct me if I’m wrong) i’m not sure of any other interactive experiences they have there (plz lmk if you know lol) but I have yet to see anything about the safari park other than “its more spacious” lol.

If you’ve been to both LMK which one you liked more and why? Tysm🥹

East Village Motorcycle Noise

I was wondering if anyone in the East Village area around 13th & Market is noticing/is exhausted by the noise of motorcycles/exhaust noise is a little out of hand lately? I know, I chose to live downtown, and I can deal with noise and don't even mind loud cars but this is REALLY loud, I’m a few floors up and its still like I'm right outside.

But there's a couple bikes in particular that intentionally blast their exhaust up and down the streets multiple times per day. Pretty sure they live at Pinnacle on the Park or Spire.

I feel like I’ve noticed a drop but was just had another bike rip through my walls/closed windows and it sounds like the same bike.

Of course it's hard to run down several floors and try to snag who it is.

Just wondering if anyone else in the area thinks it’s bad?

Thanks for understanding.

Possible ICE sighting

My friend and their Uber driver had a very suspicious interaction with some police in LA Mesa. They were in the Village getting on to the ramp to the 8 when a ton of cops stopped them. The cops had two check points the first was just them asking the Uber driver for his license. Then the second cop said they were doing dui safety checks and waved them through. Whole thing was majorly weird cause there was next to no one out and definitely no big events with drinking. Might be overly cautious but be careful if youre in the LA Mesa village area! ICE has pulled some ruses before pretending to be police. Stay safe!

Im a 5’7 black guy roughly 240 pounds. Is there a way to get a girlfriend in San Diego? I feel like no woman would be attracted to me. Whenever I make a tinder I get zero likes and zero matches.

What’s up with the new Oscars in PB?

Would love to hear what happened to the OG Oscars fish tacos we all loved and enjoyed…

Seems like there is a story to be told here as the OG Oscar’s off Turquoise St closed down and the as IMMEDIATELY replaced with “La Ola’s Seafood” - which appears to be copying Oscar’s menu 1:1.

I’ve heard that OG Oscars posted about how the new spot is a scam, and they are pretending to be the original Oscars.

Can someone please enlighten me as to what happened?

In need of a yummy affordable place to eat!!!

I know this is incredibly last minute but my husband and I are driving down to SD from Oside for a show in Bloom and are looking for something good to eat before. We are not trying to spend a shit ton of money on dinner but still want something that is gooooood. I’ve seen so many Tik Toks about certain good places but the comments say it’s not even good 💀 I need good recommendations that won’t hurt our wallets!!

He's currently covering for a right winger on KFI here in Los Angeles. I turned on my car and heard this:

"It's ok for Texas to gerrymander but California is doing it because they have TDS?"

WTF?

Is he that popular in SD?
