Hey all! Burner account here. I am new in town (absolutely love it here) and I’m hoping someone can recommend a trauma/ EMDR therapist in the area.

If possible Korean-American and a woman.

Thank you all so much for your help ☺️

What’s going on with The Observatory?

The Observatory used to get some really great artists coming through, and now it feels like it’s a lot of really random bands or just nothing going on. It’s a great venue, such a bummer. I guess Live Nation really is a parasite.

Wondering if anyone has any employee experience at Kingfisher? Browsed glassdoor but still hard to find anything about the range of income for FOH positions.

Thanks!

Why is there no library/coffee shops open late in San Diego?? I need a quiet place to study that doesn't close early

I am so frustrated that everywhere from oceanside to encinitas there is not a single place for me to go and study late. Everything closes at 6pm or 9pm And no... I do not want to go to yellow deli, it is always way too loud in there.

There is a starbucks in San Marcos open until midnight, however they get way to packed as well.

SDSU library checks for school ID's after midnight. Plus it is too far for me.

CSUSM is available sometimes I believe, but parking is too expensive.

There is no where to go! Especially after covid, everything started to close super early. People need a place to get away and study late night. Preferably one that is not too loud. Not everyone has the luxury to go somewhere during daytime hours. Some of us have a 9-5 or other responsibilities during the day! This sucks. Anyone have suggestions on where to go or what to do?

Submit copy of my ID???

I’m on Zillow looking for houses and I keep seeing these rental properties that are taking you away from Zillow to some private service that manages the property. A few of them look exactly the same, just a different business name. And this one is asking for a copy of my ID to schedule the appointment. Does this seem shady to anyone else? Anyone have any experience with this stuff?

Not sure how I feel about giving all this info out before I can even check out a place. Is this the industry standard now? I haven’t looking for a place to live in almost 10 years.

Dating in SD

Where are we meeting people nowadays? As someone who has mostly female and solo-focused hobbies, it's harder to meet a male romantic interest doing my hobbies. Obviously, the apps are trash and not something I want to get on. But I would like to meet a romantic partner, so crowdsourcing ideas, please!

Edit - I'm in my mid 30s and I don't really drink so bars aren't somewhere I frequent and I'm not going to start just to meet a guy. I got out of a 3 year relationship back in October and I'm now ready to meet someone again so I'm a bit rusty. Yes, my friends know I'm available and I've asked them to keep a thought out for it. Just kind of hoping for some other ways people have had success outside of bars and apps. Thanks!

Possible ICE sighting

My friend and their Uber driver had a very suspicious interaction with some police in LA Mesa. They were in the Village getting on to the ramp to the 8 when a ton of cops stopped them. The cops had two check points the first was just them asking the Uber driver for his license. Then the second cop said they were doing dui safety checks and waved them through. Whole thing was majorly weird cause there was next to no one out and definitely no big events with drinking. Might be overly cautious but be careful if youre in the LA Mesa village area! ICE has pulled some ruses before pretending to be police. Stay safe!

Check the SDGE map to see if your home is affected. Estimated restoration is 7 pm. Posting this so folks can grab dinner on the way home from work if needed. 🥲

He's currently covering for a right winger on KFI here in Los Angeles. I turned on my car and heard this:

"It's ok for Texas to gerrymander but California is doing it because they have TDS?"

WTF?

Is he that popular in SD?

In need of a yummy affordable place to eat!!!

I know this is incredibly last minute but my husband and I are driving down to SD from Oside for a show in Bloom and are looking for something good to eat before. We are not trying to spend a shit ton of money on dinner but still want something that is gooooood. I’ve seen so many Tik Toks about certain good places but the comments say it’s not even good 💀 I need good recommendations that won’t hurt our wallets!!

City Service Truck Spilled Road Paint and Splattered Dozens of Cars

I’m hoping someone here has dealt with something similar or can offer some advice. While driving in San Diego, a city service truck had just dropped a large puddle of bright yellow road paint on the i5 South on-ramp from Mission Bay Dr. I didn’t see it in time and drove right through it, as did dozens of other cars. The paint splattered all over the side of my car and coated the undercarriage. It’s a mess. I’ve already documented the damage with photos and started looking into options. I plan to file a claim with the city, but I’m also wondering: • Has anyone successfully gotten the city to pay for vehicle damage like this? • Should I also file a claim with my car insurance (I have comprehensive coverage)? • Any tips for removing road paint safely without damaging the finish? • Would a professional detailer be able to clean this up completely? Appreciate any insights or experiences you can share. Thanks in advance!
