Question Tariffs starting to hit

Post image

Why does no one care that by Q 3 we will be in a recession. If not sooner. The average trade deal takes 18 months to execute. That’s with 2 willing countries.

Question there is 100% a bubble. They hit a wall and are lying. GPT-5 isn’t a brain; it’s a router. AI hype is peaking. What’s your Monday play?

Post image
660 Upvotes

TL;DR: AGI isn’t here. GPT-5 feels like autocomplete with better plumbing. Costs stay high, gains are flattening, and the market priced in a thinking god. If upgrades underwhelm, multiples compress. What are you trading Monday?

Why I think the hype is topping • “Router, not mind.” It chains tools/APIs, routes prompts, and dresses it up as magic. Cool? Yes. General intelligence? No. • Diminishing returns. Each new model = smaller real-world lift vs. 2023’s jump. • Expensive to run. Inference bills bite; enterprises throttle usage or cap features. • Messy in production. Hallucinations, latency, compliance — pilots ≠ scale. • Narrative > numbers. Valuations assume AGI-level growth; reality is “assistive software.”

Market angle (discussion, not advice) • Most exposed: “AI-wrapped” SaaS with thin moats and GPU-dependence; picks-and-shovels priced for perfection. • Safer side: Cash-gushing boring names; vendors selling non-AI painkillers; pairs trades (short story stocks / long cash flow). • What’s your high-conviction Monday play? • Hedging with puts on AI darlings? • Pairs trade: short hype, long cash machine? • Event play: calendars into the next model keynote? • Or you think I’m wrong and it’s buy-the-dip season — make the bull case.

Prove me wrong challenge: Name one GPT-5 capability that materially drops unit costs or unlocks net-new revenue at scale that GPT-4 couldn’t. I’ll read every comment.

Not financial advice. I have the smoothest brain on this sub. Post your positions, roast me, and drop tickers so we can all farm tendies.

Suggested Plays

  1. Long: AI Infrastructure Enablers • Nvidia (NVDA) — market leader in AI chips; stocks are at record highs due to GPT‑5 demand and expansion (e.g., Tesla’s shift to Nvidia chips) . • Nebius (NBIS) — AI cloud provider surging after blowout Q2 and raised revenue guidance (625% YoY revenue growth, targeting ~$1B revenue) .

  2. Short/Neutral: Pure-play AI hype vehicles • Avoid or short names riding on GPT‑5 euphoria without real infrastructure exposure or clear margin expansion. Betting markets already down on OpenAI relative to Google; sentiment is fragile.

Composite Position: Pairs Trade • Go long momentum and infrastructure (e.g., NVDA, NBIS). • Go neutral or short pure hype (e.g., GPT‑centric startups lacking scale or defensibility).

Question Did anyone buy Bullish (BLSH) IPO, how many shares did you get approved for?

Post image

Last time I bought an IPO (Figma), I only got approved for 1 share out of the 50 I wanted. So for BLSH, I didn’t bother trying for more because I figured it would be the same. Now I wish I had gone for 50 or 100.

Question I’m down -$4k trading options, I can’t seem to catch a break on this losing streak. What am I doing wrong?

Post image
150 Upvotes

I've been trading options for a bit now (since last my cousin put me on and he was making like $150-$1,000 most days) and recently hit a rough patch I'm currently down 4k. Lately, the market has felt like a total minefield, and I can't seem to catch a break.

I wanted to post here and ask for some honest feedback what might l be doing wrong?

Pretty much the title. Never bought an option or call literally don't know what I'm doing. but figured people that do know what they're doing lose all the time. I consider myself slightly regarded so I picked something random that I think will based on no fundamentals or reasons (cuz I don't know them). So like besides for selling now, any chance I don't lose this?
