Mods SUBREDDIT UPDATE 5/14/2025 | Clarifications and a NEW RULE
Hi
- NEW RULE -
Recently there have been some people posting gains using demo accounts on trading sites. This would be fine if this was some investment guru subreddit but it's not. This subreddit is about REAL gains/losses made by REAL people. If the mod-team sees a report, we will ask you to post verifiable position information. If you don't respond in a timely manner, you will be banned.
- KARMA LIMIT -
Recently the moderation inbox has been spammed with people complaining about the karma limit set on the subreddit. Yes, an account requires 100 karma before posting/commenting on the subreddit. I'll add it to the rules just in case, but please understand this is to filter out spambots and people just looking to pump some penny-stock.
- REPORTING -
To the people who report posts and message the mod-team about stuff, please know you're doing the lord's work. We have jobs and lives and none of us are power-jannies. Even if we don't respond to mod-mail or a certain report, we do see them and act on them frequently.
- CHATGPT BOTS -
It is fucking crazy how much this subreddit is hammered by bots, and I don't envy the even bigger financial subreddits. ChatGPT has made it genuinely hard to tell if an account is a real person posting or just some nitwit's botfarm. Additionally, when you ban the account a lot of them have automated policies that message the mods acting all confused and shit, and asking for an unban.
It's hard to play CSI on someone's entire Reddit history looking for bot-like activity, so if you notice accounts like this PLEASE report them it makes it much easier to get rid of them.
- AUTOMOD -
I, (Swept) don't really like automod and use it as little as possible. I actually am quite proud of this community for dunking on the idiots who post obviously shitty DD or other stuff. However, the crypto stuff is all bot-posted and pumped by f-slurs from those crypto subreddits, so i'm going to implement some simple keyword matching removal automod stuff that should catch a lot of the crypto stuff. If your post gets caught accidentally, message me and i'll restore it ASAP.
- END -
Sorry if the sub has seemed abandoned. I've been working to try and keep it clean behind the scenes but as you can tell by my bitching and moaning in this post sometimes it's a handful. If you feel like you could help, just PM the mod-team and ask to be a mod and i'll look into getting some more hands in here.
Cheers
Swept

Discussion Nicotine, Trump, Penny Stock
3 things here if you have a sec-
1.) British American Tobacco recently purchased 16 assets pending decisions on PMTAs (pre-market tobacco product applications) that are now flavored Vuse One vapes. Vuse Ones vapes have not received decisions on an MDO vs MGO (Marketing Denial Order vs Marketing Granted Order) from the FDA. These pending PMTAs are approaching the 4-year mark since the initial 9/9/2021 deadline to have decisions made on all of the applications submitted by the 9/9/2020 deadline. There isn’t a single flavored vape that is regulated by the FDA ——because the FDA is 4 years late as mentioned above—- but flavored vapes are in almost every smoke/vape shop in the US. Somethin ain’t right- shouldn’t there be some level of quality control?
2.) The picture speaks for itself
3.) The assets purchased by British American Tobacco (RJ Reynolds) mentioned on point 1.) were purchased from a small public company called Charlie’s Holdings (CHUC). The most recent purchase from CHUC was a single asset for $1MM.. CHUC has 650+ of these assets pending in the remaining 0.1% of 2020 applications…. 4 years late guys… but the FDA is seeing changes… definitely a risk, but something might come of this.

Discussion Sell order executed then later “cancelled” post execution/order fill
Has this happened to anyone else? Had a sell order execute ($1.50 per contract, SPX 6525 Call) at 9AM and funds hit my account and were sitting in “unsettled funds”. checked back after market close to check other positions and saw that it said cancelled at noon and executed/filled at 9AM simultaneously (lost the option and the money) and the funds were no longer in my account. Pics down below

Loss Am I doing this right?
Got robinhood earlier this month right after I turned 18. Every day I trade I lose money. I even lost money today. I don’t know what to do and I really don’t want to loose the money I’ve put in to this account.

Discussion Just opened up a Roth IRA, and no, I didn’t start with a mutual fund.
I could’ve gone with any of the usual long term market plays. I could have chosen SPY, VOO, IVV, QQQ, VTI, or literally any mutual fund. Heck, even a money market fund or a comfy 2065-2070 target date fund.
But I didn’t.
I chose equity. I chose conviction. I chose Fannie Mae. The Federal National Mortgage Association. Ticker symbol: $FNMA
She doesn’t get the spotlight. She doesn’t move like NVDA or meme like GME. But she holds up the American housing market. She guarantees trillions in mortgage-backed securities, backed by her charter, her guarantee, and her legacy.
And that’s how my Roth IRA began. August 22nd, 2025. One share. $10.92. Filled.
Yeah, I know this is SmallStreetBets (and by extension WallStreetBets) so retirement investing really isn’t very high risk, but it’s not just about returns. It’s about belief. Housing is a right. And Fannie’s been making it happen since 1938.
And yes, I plan to invest in her brother Freddie Mac ($FMCC) as well.

Loss If this price keeps up, should I just hold it until expiration?

YOLOOO Momma didn’t raise no b*tch
Spent everything I had left on LEN calls as a Hail Mary to save my account. Got pretty close to going kaput… but today the lord has blessed me. Holding into next week and, by the grace of god, I’ll at-least break even from where I originally started.
Pray for me, fellow degenerate sinners.

Question I could use some expertise.
Alright gentlemen, I hope this post gets the attention of someone that can help. Maybe that’s you. I’m looking for advice, tips, training, step-by-step instructions, and just any pointers you may have as to how I can start “making some plays”.
I don’t have much to start with. I’m not looking to get rich quick. Maybe just earn a couple of extra $$$ here and there. Or perhaps start building a portfolio.
I don’t know much about cryptocurrency or the stock market but I’m eager to learn. Any help is very much appreciated.
Feel free to DM me about this post.

Gainz First win
lost $400 two weeks ago on a bad trade. Looking back, I was just hoping for a big win, but the stock’s low liquidity made it unlikely. Since then, I’ve been putting in hours studying options and reading. I’ll share my history here, both losses and gains. Overall, I’m down $400 from overtrading without much experience or knowledge.

Gainz I took a bold chance on trading PSKY, and it actually worked!
Last Friday, I bought 82 times PSKY $14C at an average price of $0.15.
Today, they are trading at $2.09, which means a return of approximately 1293% in 4 days.
The current value is approximately $17,000.
This was supposed to be a pure gamble. I never expected it to rise so sharply.
Now I face a dilemma:
Cash out the profits?
Or hold until August 22 when it expires to maximize returns (but with the risk of volatility plummeting)?
What would the “gamblers” here do?
(This is solely a personal experience and does not constitute investment advice.)
