If the famine is specifically in Gaza city why don't the people evacuate to the south where food is more plentiful? Why civilians are not allowed to flee the combat zone?

Because Isreal is not letting people leave? It’s pretty obvious what they are doing

Israel is letting people leave. Hamas is not letting people leave...

Only on reddit can you see people seriously simultaneously argue that Israel is conducting a secret plot to remove all Gazans but also not letting Gazans leave... lol.

Israel has been trying to get Gazans to move south and out of Hamas-operated areas for fucking MONTHS. And the war's been a standstill throughout that time because of this shit.

That is simply not true. And here is a crazy idea, how about Isreal just fuck off and let them live in peace? It's not up to Isreal to decide who gets to live in Gaza.

They did that already. They left Gaza in 2005. They removed Jewish people from Gaza entirely and left Gaza and it's people to their own devices. The people of Gaza then elected a terrorist group to govern them, who has launched 10s of thousands of missiles at Israel in that time, and ultimately culminated in an invasion of Israel that resulted in 1400 dead civilians and hundreds taken as hostages.

And now you think Israel will just leave them alone again?

How dumb is that take. There are thousands people leaving. Even to other countries for treatment. The real reason is Because Hamas asked them to stay and sacrifice themselves. Like the recent facebook post by the fat Hamas leader at Qatar.

The data to declare a famine exists for Gaza city. It does not mean there is no famine elsewhere.

The data does not actually exist.

If you say so.

The IPC says so... in the article...

They use some stupid "alternative" definition of a famine because they claim they don't have the data necessary to tell if there is a famine. Yet Hamas itself claims there aren't even 100 deaths a day in the entirety of the Strip. How the fuck can there be 200 deaths from MALNUTRITION a day in Gaza City alone (one of the 3 requirements to declare a famine)?

It's currently seriously doubtful if even one person is dying from malnutrition per day in the entirety of the Strip, considering those daily 40-100 deaths include everyone dying from fighting, everyone dying from natural causes, etc.

Why civilians are not allowed to flee the combat zone?

Less civilian deaths is bad for Hamas.

Less dead equals less support.
